I actually love Harry and Ste together but it doesn't mean I'm not shattered for JP. His entire life has basically been one heartbreak after the next with very few good times in between. James is such a talented actor I just want him to be able to portray a happy character for more than 5 seconds.

HOWEVER I know for a fact Bryan Kirkwood (the executive producer) loves James Sutton and says that John Paul's rape storyline was the thing he's proudest of in his career and they did an event concerning male rape together recently. So I think there will be good things in store for John Paul's future. I really hope so anyway. James in an incredible actor. Look at his facial acting in this episode alone. And John Paul was trending on twitter during the airing of the episode (only HO character that trended that day). Fans love him.
As much as my heart is broken that John Paul let Ste go, I realized I'm holding onto memories of a version of Ste that are long gone. He was such a caring, giving and loving person when he and John Paul first fell in love. But Ste's actions in this episode and in general for the past few months are deplorable. He's emotionally blackmailing Harry (telling him he'll get clean if they can be together) and he strung John Paul along for months (and was even going to get back together with him while being hung up on Harry at the same time, I wonder how long it would have taken him to cheat?). John Paul's only real course of action was to leave Ste. Ste's too far gone right now for the kind of love JP needs. Maybe one day he can be that man again, but in the meantime John Paul deserves a guy who knows how lucky he is to have him. But kudos to James and Kieron on an amazing goodbye scene, their facial expressions and tears had me sobbing.

I've watched this a couple more times now because there was something odd that I couldn't put my finger on, but now I see what the problem is. John Paul's speech on the Dog patio doesn't hang together for me. He starts out saying that they still love each other because they both showed up and they both wore their wedding suits and that proves that they belong together. Then he turns around and says that's not good enough for them, that he he married his best friend, but that he doesn't want to settle for friendship over love. Huh? Does anyone else feel this way and/or could they explain what he said?
i think he was trying to say that they really care about each other, but their relationship lacks passion and excitement. both of them deserve a completely satisfying relationship, but they can't have it together!
There are many different types of love in the world. The love between partners, spouses, lovers - whatever you want to call it - is full of passion and excitement, the type of love that "makes your heart flutter" (as John Paul said). JP finally realized that while he and Ste love each other, it's not that type of love and, at this point in their young lives, settling for anything less will be a mistake. It shows relationship maturity, something rarely found in soaps.
I don't think JP and Ste were ever really in love. I think they just both wanted to be with someone too much. The writers *HAVE* to give JP a decent love interest, like 3 years ago!
As bad as the plot was in this time frame, it has gotten much worse since then. The current miserable plot themes: Goldie's sons and their criminal father; Darcy Wilde's psychological torture of Maxine Minniver; the endless cheating relationship between Mac Nightingale and Lisa Loveday, which fortunately ended after Nathan's death. Some of these characters are so obnoxious that it is a relief when they are killed! #1 on my wish list is the Darcy. Many people watch the show because of the attractive and interesting characters and but sometimes they are neither of these. They are ugly, boring characters.
Wouldn't it be wonderful poetic justice if, after Ste breaks his heart, Harry entered into a relationship with JP that turned into a stable, loving relationship for both of them? Of course, this will never happen, Hollyoaks being a soap; but it would be nice to see for a change. I've never understood why producers and writers of soaps think that viewers will get bored, or worse, tune out if they show happy couples. Even people in real life with lots of drama in their lives get SOME happiness sometimes. Don't they?

Although I'm disappointed that Ste made what I think is the wrong choice, I think it will be better in the long run. Ste will break Harry's heart - we all know that already. I don't think this will be the end of the McHays. They married WAY too soon before. Neither of them was ready for it. I'm holding out for NEXT Christmas. Hopefully in the meantime, JP will meet someone else and finally start having a bit of fun. He deserves it. They sure kept Ziggy's departure a secret. That was the shocker in this episode. Also, WHERE did they get that sweater for Tony?! It's one of the most ridiculous things I've ever seen!

a lot of relationships begin with sexual attraction, and then they become something deeper. sex is not a bad thing. about starry we can't say, at this point, that it's still all about sex. they are attracted to each other, they like having sex, but they have also developed feelings for each other. their relationship has been going on for months, at the beginning maybe it was just sex, but now there must be something more between them.

Lockie is a guy and he had a short affair with John Paul. Ste was with his girlfrien Amy for years and got two kids with her. after that he realized he is gay. He was with Brandan than Dough than John Paul (which he married) than Sinnead (the Mother of his third child a drunk accident and he thought they can be a real family) than he was and is with Harry but he is still married to John Paul. I don't have any information that Ste and Harry will leave Hollyoaks. I really don't think they will do it.

I know that John Paul is right, that he and Ste both deserve love, but I was really hoping that McHay would work out. I don't like Starry all that much.
+Olivia Plunkett I agree with you.There's no doubt that John and Ste love each other but maybe they realized it's not passionate forever kind of love.Plus sometime in the future JP and Ste could get back together but when it's right for both of them.Plus now JP can go find someone new without feeling guilty.As for Ste and Harry, it could be interesting to see how they deal with the reality of them been together because i have a feeling it won't be smooth sailing.

Although I'm disappointed that Ste made what I think is the wrong choice, I think it will be better in the long run. Ste will break Harry's heart - we all know that already. That's a given considering who and what Ste is. Now Ste and John Paul can be friends and start to build their relationship again and JP can help him finally get clean and sober. I don't think this will be the end of the McHays. They married WAY too soon before. Neither of them was ready for it. I'm holding out for NEXT Christmas. Hopefully in the meantime, JP will meet someone else and finally start having a bit of fun. He deserves it.
They sure kept Ziggy's departure a secret. That was the shocker in this episode.
Also, WHERE did they get that sweater for Tony?! It's one of the most ridiculous things I've ever seen!

+Bruce McKinney I hope you're right. I won't give up on McHay's future either. It would be beautiful for them to rekindle their relationship after actually falling in love again. Their history has been amazing and I love their scenes as friends and hope there will be more of that. John Paul's love for Ste was always there in spades, but Ste is a total mess right now and is too hung up on Harry. Ste/Harry needs to run it's course, and JP deserves some happiness with a new man in the meantime.
You know I don't blame you at all, PrinceChaningFan for not uploading these clips anymore because this is ridiculous. ONE like I keep saying they should go with John Paul and Lockie. They have chemistry that McHay and Starry never had. TWO Harry is an idiot. He is giving up his family for Ste and if he gives up that scholarship for Ste too well I don't think therapy will come cheap! These writers going with Starry is ridiculous. No chemistry. Acting isn't there and don't even buy this relationship is about love. Just sex from the second it started.

a lot of relationships begin with sexual attraction, and then they become something deeper. sex is not a bad thing. about starry we can't say, at this point, that it's still all about sex. they are attracted to each other, they like having sex, but they have also developed feelings for each other. their relationship has been going on for months, at the beginning maybe it was just sex, but now there must be something more between them.

The difference being they both made it work because of the chemistry and passion they had for one another and the acting was believable. Not seeing any of that in Starry. I guess I am a glutton for punishment because I watched a few of Starry scenes and all I see is Harry chasing Ste around like a lost puppy and Ste being Ste will do anybody would wants him. I can sum up their relationship from the last few months: Harry seduces Ste. Ste says no AT FIRST but eventually gives in. Then Ste pushes Harry away.. It looks like the writers are trying to make the viewers believe Ste and Harry are in this remarkable love story whereas they aren't. No chemistry. Acting not believable for some. Guess some fans accept it because they are both decent lookin' dudes who thrust their bodies together when the script demands it.
+Dáquan Jenkins i think we should distinguish between writers purposes, story development and audience reactions. about starry i think that the writers purpose is to show a relationship started as an affair turns into something deeper. they have chosen harry because a relationship between him and ste should have faced a lot of troubles (age gap, tony's reaction, ...). i don't know how deep their feelings are right now, but i'm quite sure that, in the authors mind, starry wasn't built to be just a fling. about parry's acting skills, i think he can surely do better (he needs to improve his facial expressions), but i find him quite believable in his role, as a teenager who experiences his first love. i don't find the love scenes between him and ste awkward. about the story development, i think the authors made some mistakes, for example ste has changed his mind about harry too many times and too quickly. if they want to go on with starry it's time to take their relationship to a deeper level and make them face their real problems. about the chemistry between the actors, we could talk about it all day, but i think it's a matter of personal taste.
+eveline thirteen Yeah I understand what the writers are trying and failing so horribly to do. Like I said before. We seen this with Stenden and they are doing the age gap thing with Cleo and Pete. Difference is they made it believable. As for the acting well.. The writing is to blame too. I don't buy Harry is this in love with Ste so bad he will abandon his family for this man. Don't see Ste this in love with Harry either. I just see a friends with benefits relationship there. And the problem with Starry is the lack of character development. I mean I didn't like McHay but I will say there was some character development there at first. Not seeing any of that with Starry. For the past few months, it was just rinse and repeat! Yeah the two actors are in good shape and of course it will look hot if these two have steamy scenes but other than that, I don't understand why the audience believe this is a love story and it really isn't.
I really wish everyone would stop throwing shade at Ste I mean really get over yourselves people don't kick drug habits within a few months or even a year they battle it for the rest of their lives and without people to love and support them they slip right back in. Ste needs someone strong who's not going to give up at the first sign of trouble and I think Harry is that person so please everyone back the hell off Ste

Lockie is a guy and he had a short affair with John Paul. Ste was with his girlfrien Amy for years and got two kids with her. after that he realized he is gay. He was with Brandan than Dough than John Paul (which he married) than Sinnead (the Mother of his third child a drunk accident and he thought they can be a real family) than he was and is with Harry but he is still married to John Paul. I don't have any information that Ste and Harry will leave Hollyoaks. I really don't think they will do it.

Everything was great and Pavel stopped a fight and hit his head...A few weeks later, just when everyone thought Geoff and Pavel were going to have a happy ending and get married he collapsed and died.

I totally agree. We saw Harry kicking a ball in the school yard maybe twice and now he has a scholarship to a school in California. California schools are some of the most competitive schools in the US. This is not believable to me.
