If you have thin tooth enamel (and a lot of us do!) things like salt and baking soda will actually scratch the enamel and cause you to experience sensitivity to hot and cold pretty badly. Lemon is also acidic and will eat the enamel off of your teeth, so BE CAREFUL about these ingredients being used on your teeth too much!
i would be satisfied with an actual video of someone showing their teeth and then applying it and showing a difference afterward instead of a before and after picture or just not at all.

Always makes me laugh when I see this. I'm 63 soon and I have been using baking soda with a bit of lemon since I was a child. My late mother taught me how to properly clean my teeth from the time I could toddle. We always used a bit of cheesecloth instead of a finger. And she got it from HER mother... so it's not new. You can also use lemon to whiten your fingernails.

My husband is a dentist. He has patients every week or so with destroyed tooth enamel due to eating lemons and limes. Those citrus acids destroy tooth enamel. Now they have to get expensive crowns. You shouldnt even brush your teeth until 30 minutes after eating...just to save your enamel. Once the enamel is gone there is no replacing it.

my dentist says baking soda (Sodium Bicarbonate) is far too harsh to use on teeth..lemon juice is an acid which is also not good for teeth.put them together and you get a compound that is great for cleaning your toilet or grout between bathroom tiles but not good for teeth!

Lemon being acidic and baking soda having high pH both has high potential to cause permanent damage to our teeth, and as tooth paste is also incorporated which helps to retain these things on your teeth for longer time, Hence causing more harm.
Secondly when our precious enamel get lost, dentin gets exposed which is yellow in color, highly sensitive to hot and cold and more prone to cavities.
So It is better to visit a dentist for r teeth whitening which have safer alternatives then to play with your priceless teeth, causing permanent damage of enamel and then visiting a dentist with pain.
It works well but baking soda is abrasive and if used too much it can wear-off the teeth enamel over time. So, I would not this everyday. Instead once your teeth are whitened, brush your teeth after having red wine, coffee or teas as they stain the teeth plus regular maintenance of brushing the teeth after main meals and before bed. And, for regular natural whitening the best is to swirl coconut oil, or oil pulling for 15-20 minutes and then spit it out. It will keep teeth white naturally over time and won't harm your enamel.

I don't see how this would work. the baking soda neutralizes the acid in the lemon juice leaving a neutral PH mixture. So what then is the active substance that does the whitening? I don't think the Lemon juice/acid will harm the enamel due to it being neutralized... I believe plain baking soda paste would be far more effective!
My dental hygienist tells me that I pass "the tissue test." He is surprised at how white my teeth are. Here is my evening routine. I brush my teeth generally with a baking soda and peroxide toothpaste. Then, I take a cap full of peroxide straight from the bottle. I put it into my mouth (where else?) and gargle with it. After about a 30 second gargle I hold it in my mouth against my teeth for 10 minutes. That keeps the teeth white naturally.

You should use baking soda and tooth paste mix them together and it more safe than using lemon , lemon can damage your teeth.
Baking soda is an abrasive. I didn't know this as a kid and used baking soda and hydrogen peroxide. It cut the enamel on my front tooth to the quick. It'll clean them. And it'll ruin them.
I think since it's just something one would only have to do once it might work without damaging the enamel. What do you guys think?

To all those that said Lemon Juice will destroy enamel. That is correct, however this is mixed with an alkaline aka baking soda that will neutralize the acidic properties of the lemon. Basic chemistry folks.

I have learnt that the acidity from Lemon can be bad for your teeth. It is advised not to brush teeth after drinking Lemon water and to do it 10 mins or more before or after.

You may not know a lot about chemistry... The baking soda is alkaline. The bubbles you see in the video is a neutralizing reaction. Once the bubblin stops, the solution becomes sligtly alkaline.

Although this works it does give you sensitive teeth and if you're out in the cold you will get brain freeze because your teeth roots and stuff are connected so don't do this! It weakens the enamel too. Exactly the same with whitening toothpaste

To have amazing pearly teeth get sand paper put salt over it evenly atleast 1 teaspoon then add lemon and 2 full table spoons of baking soda mix in sand paper and rub on teeth also here rid of foot fungus dead skin.

your teeth are weak and flimsy because lemon = citrus food.... citrus destroys the teeth's natural enamel. That's why after eating citrus fruits like lemon, oranges, tangerines, grapes, grapefruit, limes, etc. you should rinse and brush your teeth immediately. The effects of the acidity in citrus is similar to that of eating candy. In the video they used lemon (acidic) + baking powder (alkaline) = neutral. You have to use a lot of baking powder to neutralize the lemon.
I tried this on a Democrat to see if I could get them clean and it diddnt work....

just make your own toothpaste from coconut oil, baking soda, and mint, clove or whatever flavour you like oil, and a nonsugar sweetener... won't work overnight but does whiten your teeth - lots of vids on youtube with the recipe.
