SPOILER WARNING! Not only does Drea forgive Eleanor for hitting her with a car, and plotting an elaborate revenge scheme against her, but Eleanor forgives Drea for outing her in the first place. They really ARE "Fked up Soulmates", to use Drea's words.
@Maddy . you know how entitle you sound …. There ALSO a section where we talk about the movie and 7/10 people don’t click on videos about movies they haven’t watch … the title literally says REVIEW 😭😭😭 that’s life
@@baeskii I don’t get it either. It’s even worse when people whine about spoilers about a movie that is over 20 years old. Someone actually did that recently about the movie “Identity” which was released back in 2003. 💀
@Maddy . There is no valid reason to read the comment section about a show that you haven’t watched or finished yet. It doesn’t matter if the video has a “spoiler free” section. The ready of the video DOES have spoilers. People in the comments are going to discuss the film whether you agree with that or not. Also, every single person that complains like that is absolutely fully aware of the fact that there will inevitably be spoilers in the comments. They just want to be able to complain since that is probably all they ever do anyways.
Do Revenge (2022) did its job in reviving fairly enjoyable troupes or stereotypes as seen in the 90s and even 2000s teen comedy/romance flicks. It clearly stands out from all other other film releases on Netflix. I personally think Camila Mendes and Maya Hawke should do more projects together. Their chemistry is out the building at this rate. Apart from this, the movie itself is gradually gaining more attention. It’s well deserved.
Eleanor is the type of girl I'm way more scared of. She's a wolf in sheep's' clothing because she saw that Drea was down bad with the leaking of her seggs tape and proceeded to prey on her. With Drea you already know she's a wolf.
Toxic Queens + Beautiful aesthetics = I’m sold. I love Drea and Eleanors weird friendship but if I was Drea, I would constantly be wondering if Eleanor was going to kill me.
after watching this my sister said to me “what if this is like the iconic teen movie of the generation like mean girls or legally blonde” and i stand by that.
I guessed the twist at the beginning of the movie and still enjoyed it so much. The way Eleanor said, “she doesn’t know it yet, but we’re about to be besties!” gave it away for me. I love this movie and I’m so happy you enjoyed it too. 🤗
I didn't know exactly what her motive was, but I had an uneasy feeling where I knew SOMETHING was up with her and there was something she wasn't revealing about herself based on that line. And got the same feeling when she was comforting her in bed and Drea said "you're just like me" or something, and Eleanor's face looked like someone who was uncomfortable with coming to terms with being like her. Maya's acting clearly showed that she was being deceptive in some way during that scene, but I didn't put the pieces together that she was gonna be that malicious lol. I was thinking maybe she had secretly been the one to leak the tape or something crazy like that. Or that she was some kind of obsessed stalker who wanted to ruin her so she could become her lol.
@@dangernoodle9961 Yes! That line was another big tell for me as well. Her face gave off the same kind of vibe she had in the car in the beginning when she was telling the camp story. Something about the way she looked at Drea was off to me. Then the line about how a narcissist wouldn’t be able to tell if they were being manipulated. I was already pretty positive my theory was right, but that line and the one where Drea says they are alike really set it in stone for me. Lol.
The plot twist and everything that occurred because of it was wild! Defiantly approaching thriller territory there because I was legit anxious for Drea
So alot of the music in my opinion was intentional. They were songs that pulled from very recognizable teen movies of the 90s and 2000s. Even some of the scenes were literally scenes from cruel intentions, the craft, mean girls, clueless. So yeah I felt the music was super deliberate and intentional to flip the teen movie genre. Like a nod to it.
Yes! So was the unrealistic dialog and internet speak. Some lines were pulled directly from cult classic teen movies like jawbreaker and mean girls… it all added to the camp. I think the movie was trying not to be realistic in any way
the best part of this movie is that there was no overall message like saying revenge is bad blah blah like they stuck through it til the end and actually got their revenge. like realistically after the end of the movie drea murdered eleanor for hitting her with a car.
I'm gonna be mad if they waste the team's talent on sequels instead of letting the creative minds work on different movies for us to enjoy. Also, I didn't know I was gonna enjoy seeing so many actors from popular shows come together in one movie.
I absolutely LOVED this movie !! At first I thought it was gonna be another one of those really bad Netflix teen movies we’ve been getting recently but it was surprisingly unpredictable and that’s really refreshing!
i actually really liked the soundtrack!!! for me, it was a good combination of popular and some lesser known songs that gen z actually listen to. silk chiffon playing right after a taylor swift reference? amazing.
Honestly, I did not expect to even like this movie, but holy shit it was so good, the plot twist was everything and I legitimately did not expect it at all, that's what made it so iconic for me
i honestly love this kind of soundtrack in these types of movies, because i can just chill out and when i hear it... and i scream and i sing along with the background
i actually didn’t mind the brutal needle drop, but i did think happier than ever was just a bit too dramatic. i think it’s a good point still about catering to the audience w songs. summer i turned pretty series is a big one that does it too! even tho i liked their choices it was just a lot. i would be curious to see if you liked the choices in a show like heartstopper? i thought it was good at not just choosing music to explain the situation, but almost as if that character would listen to it? if that makes sense!
i really loved this movie but i felt so bad for the guy from obx, the way he was just there to be the one person that could get away with using AAVE........ the boy deserves better cmon!!!
I didn’t even peep that most of the main cast was in teen series or currently in one Eleanor Stranger Things Drea Riverdale Elliot Outer Banks Tara 13 reasons why Russ Ms. Marvel Carissa Love, Victor Max Euphoria Meghan Alexis & Katie Montana Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin
I really liked do revenge but I feel like it has so much more potential to do more. They should have leaned into the plot twist and just went completely off the rails at the 2/3 mark of the movie, but instead they took the safe route and made the girls bond over a common greater enemy. It just felt cheap and lazy
i kinda feel like it gave heathers enegry because it seemed like the movie was going going to be your typical high school drama but then became a thriller type thing.
I'm late to the party but I've only just found out about your channel (blame youtube) and still wanna share my opinion lol. I genuinely loved that movie way more than I thought I would. Definitely the spiritual successor to Clueless in my mind. I saw the twist coming and didn't really like it. Like it's well executed so I'm not upset by that, I just really wanted Thelma & Louise vibes so I was disappointed they had previous beef because it distracted a bit from the "different type of girlies with a ride of die unhinged friendship" energy I wanted. The movie still has that tho I just wish they could have find a way to do a similar twist without impacting their dynamic as much (like if Eleonor was deceiving Drea to get back at someone she has access to more than her directly or if Drea hurt someone close to Eleonor rather than Eleonor herself).
Over all I really liked it. I love seeing teenage girls written and directed by women, we need that. However I wasn't a fan of the "gen z speak" cuz we don't talk like that and I really didn't like the happy ending there needed to be more consequences.
Do revenge is a good movie to watch, and I was expecting that plot twist from Eleanor, I just didn't expect how they made it which caught me off guard.
okay but in the defense of the soundtrack... some of it was really good like silk chiffon by phoebe bridgers and MUNA the lesbians song for the lesbians it was perfecttt
on the topic of music being played over that just describes what theyre doing they did play a song that was like ‘make me over’ in the makeover scene 😂
Do Revenge definitely brought it! I kinda clocked the twist before it was revealed, but that didn’t make it any less satisfying. I will say the unhinged final quarter of the movie felt a bit anticlimactic to me. And I’m low key, no I’m high key over the toxic YT girl avoiding accountability or consequences for their problematic, or in this case criminal behavior. Drea touched on the racial biased implications, but they didn’t push that envelope nearly enough! Watching Nora get to kick her feet up & ride off into the sunny abyss of her future seemingly without repercussions, was triggering. It’s a tired arch, but we were almost there!
The outfits and everything was just perfect and reminded me a lot of my favorite teen films like that (Jawbreaker is my favorite one). The whole cast and everyone else involved did a great job! I’m just really glad this movie was so well received. Camilla Mendes is so talented and she deserves more recognition but has been held down by Riverdale. That show has some really talented actors, like Lili Reinhart, that will absolutely have even bigger careers once the final season is done. Riverdale absolutely is the reason why the cast has recognition and success so I’m sure they are very grateful for that, but it’s just time to move on. The show has really turned into an absolute joke which is unfortunate since season 1 was SO good. I can’t even explain the show now to anyone that hasn’t watched it. The show is impossible to explain. 😂
The plot was lowkey messy and got wackier towards the end. Overall the fashion was giving 80s heather and 90s clueless. There wasn’t enough mean girls or pitch perfect humor that’s quotable

Really? That was a surprise? I thought it was obvious when Dre’s said something how easy it is fool a narcissist and then Elanore just looked at her like “duh bitch”. NAh I'm too petty for that😭😭 Also, I felt like Elenaors reason for trying to get revenge on Drea was a little... over bored? I'm not trying to downplay her trama but she was 12,13 at the time so really it's easy to debunk rumors like that since 1. It's not even true and 2. Your not a an adult with a career at stake😬 And, by the time you get into HS no body is actually going to remember that shit💀people from your middle school may be going to your hs but there will be at least 5 different schools there as well.

They should have just casted "Drea" to be a dark skin black girl bc they way her dialog was set up makes no sense.
