Ali Ross is such a great example of how you don't have to smash the ball to score big. His touch and placement are a joy, even on a sluggish outfield.

20:17 reminds me of a cricket tour long ago to Yorkshire. Our Saturday game had been rained off, and we drove back to our hotel, passing another cricket pitch on the way, where a game was still in full swing, in the pouring rain 😀

Great quality of video and commentary at club level, hope to see more as the season progresses!

Great quality video Keith. Super innings from Ali Ross, and good for his averages. Still not sure if this high level cricket must be played in april. Means catch up for all the teams with abandoned games, especially when in the driving seat. All the best for a good season of fine cricket Dave

Also Keith what is the justification for the cement boundary 'rope'. Surely you arent keeping that for heritage purposes? The club doesnt appear short of money so I would assume you could afford a nice picket fence with an inner rope boundary.

The kerb stones have been in place ever since I began playing in the 1970s - they are traditional. Some have been removed to allow access of various types. I think the ideas is that when whitewashed, they set the ground off well. But I would agree they are really passed their sell-buy date, certainly in terms of health and safety. There have been a few young men over the years who've taken them on and usually an ambulance is required. However, I have never known anyone seriously suggest removing them. Maybe it is simply just cost.
