Thank you so much for recording I-45 around Conroe! That stretch of freeway is lacking when it comes to pictures or videos... I really enjoy the videos you do JD!
Thank _you_ Ryan! (At least, I assume your name is Ryan.) I love driving along the North Freeway, north of Beltway anyway, because it feels like a grand gateway into the Houston area, and the Conroe stretch is the cherry on top. Now, if TxDOT would hurry up and finish US-75 in Allen and McKinney so the gateway to DFW is the same way, lol.
I miss the Houston area. Where I live in southeast Georgia once u leave Savannah the country starts right away. Nothing but trees for over a hundred miles until u get to Macon Georgia.
6 years ago its crazy how big it is then, to now in 2022 the skyline has way more buildings and Houston keeps getting bigger and keeps sprawling like a mofo!
I may just have to use that first song in one oft videos this upcoming season (with credit to you of course!) by the way, I remember seeing the first draft you posted to the FWJ Facebook group, What an Improvement! This is some of your best work here!
Wow so much has changed. Especially a little over 2 minutes into the video we saw the El Dorado Blvd and Bay Area Blvd bridges, those don’t exist anymore. They have been made into underpasses now. I liked the weird whirlybird Bay Area Blvd used to be when going over IH-45, too bad.
Wesley Tran Thats true about the trees only on this road, only going north. The east Texas pine forest and hardwoods are up there-hence the Woodlands name. Used to live in Houston.
I have always liked how "gracefully" smooth your BGS slide out of the screen. So far, I have never been able to produce that kind of movement. Do you perform special editing on those signs, or is it preset animation in your video editor?
In Sony Vegas you can right click the keyframe node in event pan/crop and there will be a variety of options as to how an object will move between keyframes. The signs usually have 2 keyframes, one on-screen, one off-screen, and i set it to leave the onscreen keyframe slowly and go fast into the offscreen one (thus presenting the illusion of sliding off of the screen). So it's preset.
InterstateJD I have been using the same keyframe technique, but still haven't found the way to vary the sliding speed of the signs. Well, I guess it is time to do some deeper digging.
Yeah I figured you knew about keyframing, but the trick is to (in vegas at least) right click on the node for the keyframing (if that makes sense). There you'll have different options (linear, fast, slow, smooth, sharp, hold) that will dictate the way the objects move, if that makes sense... Idk about how your editor works though.
I try to avoid I-45 between downtown and FM1960 whenever possible. I used to commute on that portion everyday but after moving to another area of town I can now see just how stressful the I-45 north portion of road can be during rush hour. There always seems to be accidents, knucklehead drivers and to top it off, flooding during heavy rain. The stress seems to lessen north of FM1960, and especially north of Conroe.
@@jadentaylor8 Rarely head downtown these days. When I do I usually take TX-249 all the way to either I-45 or Beltway 8. When in no rush I’ll head down Stuebner Airline or Kuykendahl to either I-45 or Shepherd.
+SilverBlaze189 I actually found that song on a ScrewdUPClickV2 video of US-181 in Corpus Christi. I didn't change much from that FWJ draft, changed some transitions to remove frame stuttering, that's it. Now enable replies so I can talk to you directly, lol.
Returned to pts home and with and from pts school. Patient and remains in cheerful mood. Patient has no s)s distress noted. No SOB noted. Respirations unlabored. Patient had a good day at school. Participated well in all school activities today. Report given to pts mother, Olga Cisneros.

I wonder how no one is opposing to the rerouting of the pierce.. I love the pierce so much and I don't want it to me demolished.. and I hate the rerouting plan bcause they want to put it underground and the awesome houston view will never be seen again if demolished... If TXDOT decided to update 45 north of Houston based on this video th-cam.com/video/yvN9MmdjIW0/w-d-xo.html I think it would be one of the most Iconic pieces of Infrastructure ever built.

Nice video, it gives a good impression of how gigantic the Houston metro area is.
Yup, that's why I enjoy traveling it so. Making one of these, for say, I-10 in LA, would be mind-boggling.
InterstateJD which is more spread out or sprawl houston or LA or about the same
Jason Williams Houston is more spread out but LA is huge too
@@skidmark9863 LA covers more land area, I-10 from Banning to Santa Monica is almost 100 miles
@@FirebirdCamaro1220Houston is bigger than la but ok

Haha yep :D

Yeah in Houston the sprawl just doesn't give up! Thanks for watching
+Mario Francis I hear ya Mario. Lived in Garden City for 7 yrs. Once you leave town it the Boonies.
Hope to move to H-Town by end of yr.
Back in Texas.
I miss seeing the Goodyear Blimp base on I-45 North.

Can you film the rest of I-45 between Conroe and Dallas?

I like how when the trees show up on the side it is a straight up signal that you are leaving greater Houston.
Wesley Tran Thats true about the trees only on this road, only going north. The east Texas pine forest and hardwoods are up there-hence the Woodlands name. Used to live in Houston.
The T&J family should react to this, and if they see the comment just tell him that I said hi
Interstate 45
The interstate that never leaves the state of Texas
Don’t forget 37!

Now there is an Apartment building right off the Interstate before you get to downtown.

Merci, Francis! :D
+InterstateJD You're becoming bilingual :D !
One error in the exit numbering...I-610 is exit 40B-C, not 32A-B.
Spring-Stuebner Road is exit 70B.
Well next time you make a 13 minute long road video with 80+ BGSs I am sure that they will be impeccably accurate. Thank you for watching anyway!

I didn't mean to be nitpicky, I was point out errors. Sorry if you thought that I was. Still an awesome video.
Nah, it's fine, it's just that nobody's perfect. When there's a video with this much content there is bound to be errors, lol. I'm glad you enjoyed!

driving in Houston is like driving LA
lol the traffic in LA is intense here it isnt
Melissua Yanes you have no idea what you're talking about if you're making that statement
And we have much cooler looking freeways

This was before the 610 interchange rebuild wow. It looks entirely different at gulfgate now, no more scary enter on the left 35 merge 😂
