We played this in 8th grade with the high schoolers at a game and I got to be first trumpet and it killed my lips hitting the high G

Love this song but I feel like when we play it the lower parts and percussion are more accented and it really gets my adrenaline going idk
honestly rip all marching band bass clarinets tbh like we get NO parts we always gotta copy the tenor saxes or the clarinets

i play the trumpet and have a difficult time hitting the high c can someone help me out
do you mean the high g? either way try playing louder, you need the air to move fast to hit the high notes also maybe try playing the high notes without buzzing your lips. youll have to push more air through but it might work for you
Chris East Well, I play trumpet as well, and I always heard that LESS air actually makes it easier to play the high notes.
Another tip: the more you buzz with your lower lip rather than with both lips, the higher a note you can achieve.
