    We keep wasting time trying to figure God out, as if to prove something but, God can't be figured out. It's best just to love and enjoy Him. His Wisdom and His ways are sooo far beyond out own and, I thank Heaven for that! #stayinawe #stayamazed

      God hates his enemies. God does not "love" everyone in the sense that he loves his children. John Lennox is unfortunately wrong on this as we read in Mark 4 that only the saved are given the spiritual ears to hear and eyes to listen. Thus, the Bible offers the exact age of the Earth and when the end will occur.

    • @kenhunt4356
      @kenhunt4356 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@edanderson8087You mean follow man's interpretation of biological and geological evidence? "Science" means knowledge, not a theory about what happened in the past when no-one was there... oh wait, we have ONE eye-witness account from Genesis 1. You can investigate that, the Judeo-Christian God does something none of the other"gods" do, He gives us the green light to check Him out, and He won't force us to believe if we refuse (I don't recommend that approach). If you say the age of fossils is based on the known age of the rocks they are in, which the age of the rocks in turn is based on the age of the fossils, that's circular reasoning, not knowledge. If you want to use the precise science of the decay of unstable parent atoms into daughter atoms, the same rock will give wildly different ages depending which method in many cases. Modern attempts to compensate for errors and inconsistencies still leaves out the unmentioned fact - there is no way to know the precise ratio of parent to daughter atoms when the fossil was created, nor is there a way to know what other factors could have contaminated the sample or accelerated the decay, nor is there a good explanation for why nearby igneous rock that was laid down in the recent past (say, 10 years or so) shows ages ranging from hundreds of thousands of years to millions of years depending on the dating method. We are told there is no scientific dispute on the age of the earth and fossils, but such discrepancies in age measurements is seldom publicly discussed... because it raises too many questions?

    • @mikeslater6246

      Science changes by the minute. God's word is forever. Science is produced by fallible man. The Bible is the word of the infallible God. I always start with God's word and see how everything fits into it. I do not allow fallible man's fallible science to dictate the meaning of God's infallible word.

      @@bogusphone8000 Sure, the way creationists interpret Genesis literally, claiming that the earth could only be 6,000 years old. In doing that they ignore so many findings of ancient structures that are dated to be 14,000 years old and older, presenting clear knowledge of building and a society that existed before known civilization. Also concerning the age of the universe, they ignore the laws of physics in that we know what the speed of light is, and we can observe the edge of the universe, being roughly 14 billion years old.

    It's not for us to pick God apart to find out how He works......He IS the creator of ALL that is and ever will be and His ways are FAR above and beyond our understanding. It is ONLY for us to Believe, Trust, Obey and Love Him with all out heart, soul, mind and strength.
    He knows exactly what He is doing with ALL He has made WAY better than we could ever figure out.

    • @bobmcright7
      @bobmcright7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes....He Created ALL things perfect in the beginning FOR HIS pleasure, to His Glory.
      But, NO.....He takes NO PLEASURE in all our pain, suffering, torture, agony and death. The CAUSE of all these things is a result of Adam and Eve's disobedience to God bringing sin into the world resulting in death.
      Romans 6:23
      which reads, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord”.
      2 Peter 3:9
      "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance".

    • @JanuWaray
      @JanuWaray หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@haitaelpastor976you've forgotten one factor: freewill.
      Human suffering is not inflicted by God. We chose to commit and keep choosing to commit wrong acts upon wrong acts that result in the suffering of all creation... Yet God, in His infinite mercy, took it upon Himself to restore all creation to Himself by offering up His only-begotten Son as propitiation for all of humanity's wrongdoings, to restore all creation to Himself.
      Why give humans freewill?
      Because God does not have any desire for robots, whose affection, adoration nd obedience are borne out of automation, and are, therefore, untrue and fake. We all know that nothing fake can withstand the Presence of Him who is all-knowing, all-wise, and all-Truth.

      There are two ways to use tenses: chronological and ordinal. Because time does not yet exist, we use the ordinal sense to say that God existed before time. "Before the beginning (time), God was." Once God made time we can use both the ordinal and the chronological senses to say that God existed before everything else, continues to exist, and will exist beyond the point at which all of creation, including time, passes away.

    👎I love Lennox and he gets most things right, but he's demonstrably wrong on the age of the Universe. The genealogy in the Bible was calculated by Bishop Usher to be around 4000 years to the birth of Jesus Christ. The genealogies gives names and lengths of time.
    Jesus places Adam and Eve at the beginning of Creation: Mark 10:6 KJV - But from the BEGINNING OF THE CREATION God made them male and female. If man was made 13.7 billion years after Genesis 1:1 - that would not be from the beginning of creation and contridicts Mark 10:6.
    Quoting some compromised scholar(s) who are all taught to reject the Genesis account of Creation and many reject the few chapters of Genesis as history, because they are bewitched to think God used evolution, does not make Lennox's theological argument any stronger.

      Here is my humble opinion on this. Scientists state that something cateclismic probably happened to the earth between when the dinosaurs were here, and now because there is no records of fossils being found for a huge span of years. If you read the account in Genesis, it speaks of "an earth without form or shape" BEFORE it gets into the narrative of our present earth. This seems to explain a lot, that there may have been a previous earth structure, and then it was destroyed (probably something cateclismic happened i.e., possibly meteor, this possibly explaining "the earth was witbout form or shape" , and then a new earth structure formed (presemt earth).
      "In the beginning, when God created the heavens and the earth- and the earth was without form or shape, with darkness over the abyss and a mighty wind sweeping over the waters-Then God said: Let there be light, and there was light....[my note: then the complete description goes on]

      Respectfully, your take here is embarrassing… And I’m saying this as a Christian. I can tell that you have had ZERO training on Biblical exegesis. Are you really taking Mark 10:6 to mean that God created Adam and Eve at the BEGINNING of creation (like the very first thing created)?? Even though it is written that they were created on the 6th day… after 5 other days of creating other things??? If you believe this then your understanding of Mark 10:6 contradicts almost the entire creation story in Genesis. You tell me, what was created at the beginning of creation- male and female… or the heavens and the earth? You’ve gotta humble yourself.
      And while you’re at it (humbling yourself), go back and reread the context of Mark 10, specifically verses 1-12. Jesus isn’t referencing the creation to talk about the creation and timelines within it. He is referencing an event within the creation to make a point about MARRIAGE [utilizing first principles analysis] with the Pharisees!

      @@jamesmaybury7452 you can do so on our planet because we orbit a star within the Goldilocks zone of our solar system (where temperature is neither too hot nor too cold for carbon based life to emerge). You forget, it is not just light that is needed for photosynthesis, but a specific temperature as well. All life on Earth has developed in accordance with the temperature of the sun’s heat. That means that if you deprived a plant of sunlight and made your own light for it to grow, you’re still depending upon the heat of the air you’re using to grow the plant.
      NO life can exist without a sun. Do you actually have any idea how cold a planet with no sun near it would be? You talk about this like it is so trivial, that of course a supernatural sentient being who is spaceless and timeless yet can interact with space and time decided to make the Earth in seven days. You are familiar with Ockham’s razor, yes? Do you earnestly believe that your proposal is the most likely, let alone at all empirically evident? My friend, you are succumbing to an outrageous form of confirmation bias. Scientifically speaking, your theory doesn’t even merit hearing out.
      Besides, the verse claims that ‘day and night’ are created before the sun, when we know that they are the product of the Earth’s rotation upon its axis relative to the Sun. Is it not more likely that this verse is the product of human minds observing their reality long before they understood its basic principles? The whole of Genesis is blatantly composed without any regard towards the laws of physics because, guess what, people hadn’t a clue about them at the time of its composition.
      There is absolutely no shame at all in admitting that you do not understand and have answers for every natural phenomenon. But that doesn’t mean that Humanity does not have the knowledge that you don’t, or that if we have found a phenomenon no one understands, that we’ll never come closer to understanding it. You need to acquaint yourself properly with the scientific method. It involves a reasonable hypothesis, which then must undergo rigorous proof via experimentation and observation, before being declared a theory which is in accordance with observable reality. Science is DESCRIPTIVE, not prescriptive. If it’s a prescription of the universe you want, then you ask too much. It is arrogant and lazy to force a conclusion before irrefutable data to support it. There is no evidence for any deity’s existence.

    Furthermore, we know that trees and grass were created before the sun was put in the sky. I don’t think trees would live for long without sunlight.
    All these things point to a “short” period of time.
    Perhaps Adam and Eve walked with God for a long period of time before the Fall. Scripture doesn’t tell us that, but from Adam’s death to Christ is given very clearly.
