  • Bright colours look even brighter when accented with black and white. This video shows how to create dramatic and striking gel prints with colourful layers, then use black and white to make the colours pop even more.
Music: Why I Try -Loving Caliber
*Edit: In this video I state that one of the sets of masks are by Dina Wakely. It has been subsequently pointed out that this is incorrect. Unfortunately I do not know the maker of this set as I purchased it second hand in the Dina Wakely packaging.

My favorites are the three vertical vines that you enhanced. Australian Aboriginal is what comes to mind when I see that, very beautiful.

What a huge difference the black & white makes! And cutting out shapes from coloured plastic folder dividers makes great reusable masks. Also tissue paper or inexpensive baking paper works wonderfully for lifting paint from stencil holes, as you can really get stuck into the spaces.

Wow! Teresa! I really LOVE your prints! I wasn't too sure half way thru, as I actually really liked your 'befores' better than after you added the black paint to the prints. But after you put the extra black and white details on that made all the difference. And you're very neat, I think you got all your dots and scalloped edges really even and accurate. Great work! Thanks for sharing your techniques with us. ❤️👍🌸🙂

Hello from Central Florida, USA 🇺🇸
    WOW...so enjoying your videos Teresa.
You have definitely given me a lot of inspiration to use my gel plate...I'm fairly new to paper crafting but started playing around with mixed media art at the beginning of the pandemic and absolutely love to try and create different things, still not very good at it, but having a wonderful time creating and just playing around with different media and paper crafting...
Thank you again for all your videos and the inspiration you give to all of us❣🤗

I really like these Teresa; my favorite is the sort of orange background with the 'greenery' - l liked it before you added the white leafing and after. Very creative. I need to get out my gel plate(s) and get busy I think. Thank you for sharing and please stay safe. P.S. Happy Holiday - enjoy your time away... heaven only knows you deserve it. Again, thank you and enjoy.

Hi Teresa! I love your videos. I'm a beginner in the painting/collage/gelli printing world. My medium is the fiber arts, but I love paint and glue. I've just realized I need to stay true to my style, which I am still developing. I really like the brights against the black background.

That’s great, just what I needed! I have made a bunch of masks/stencils of figures, animals, birds and a dragonfly, now I know how to actually use them.
Just wondering though - what do you do with your pictures next? Do you make them into a book, frame them, keep or sell them?
    Have a fab holiday!

Hi Teresa, Thank you for another inspirational video. My own gelli prints are looking a lot more interesting after following some of your ideas. A question.
