    Thank you, this is very imformative. I just had my PRX T33 last night and it was my second time. But when I woke up in the morning, I got these brown/dark patches on some area of my face. So I am very worried about it. So, as you've said that this is very normal then it makes me feel less freaked out. :)

    I always get little whiteheads in areas where I normally break out. Cheeks, nose, chin. Is this all the gunk coming to the surface after jessners?

    Hi Cody,Love your videos!It is my first time to use a chemical peel (TCA 10%), and I am nervous. Can you please let me know if I can apply it on the dark spots, instead of the whole face? Would like to be cautious since it's my face. I intend to do it this weekend, so your prompt reply will be appreciated. Thanks!

    Do I need to expect a purge after a 30% glycolic peel or lactic acid peel? I only have mild acne right now and hyperpigmentation from when I had a moderate acne. I can tell I have some clogged pores. Do you think any purging will be severe and so you think it will go away within 3 weeks? I'm getting this peel because I'm in a wedding in about a month from now. 😊

    Hi there, love all the info, you are awesome. Question. I’m a hair stylist and work with the public 4 days a week - so I didn’t want to have crazy peeling and huge dark patches full face while working on my clients. So, I did a 20% TCA on a few age spots on my face using a q tip. I did 2 layers, leaving each layer on for 2 min. I frosted a lot on the spots. I followed direction and after about 4 hours my skin is still white on the areas where I applied peel. Is this normal and ok? I know to expect red and some dark after doing it but didn’t expect areas to stay white hours later. TIA!

    My dermatologist thought I had rosacea and prescribed soolantra. I used it without any other product as I was trying to figure out what was causing my skin to burn and itch. I ended up with a severe reaction and would have scratched my face off. I remembered that I had lidocaine. I washed off my face first and used lidocaine a couple of times. It was over a holiday weekend and I didn't think it was a medical emergency. I look like an 80 year old woman right now. I suspect that soolantra burned my skin.

    I accidentally stumbled upon your video and am so grateful that I did. I applied several treatments of "50%" TCA on my toes because they had very thick, dark marks from abrasion of shoes throughout the years. The peeling has taken quite a few weeks but has started to peel and so far I am liking the results. However, though it is too late to turn back was this a bad idea? could my skin revert, get darker and/or thicker? please advise. Thank you, so kindly.

    • @MontarboSkinCareSanDiego
      @MontarboSkinCareSanDiego  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Morning! Thank you for being here and for asking your question. So happy that you are finding the video helpful. I would not stress about it now. You are going to be fine. Curious, by chance are you prone to keloid scarring ( raised scarring from fibrous tissue on the skin which becomes darker)? If so, you could run into issues. The toes, hands and feet can come back darker because of the friction caused by shoes and rubbing. It is important to also make sure that the skin doesn't become too dry or hot from showers or taking a bath as it could cause some issues of the skin not healing properly or make the solution not work. To be honest 50% is a bit high to use at first because you are more likely to cause scarring and more darkness, However, it does sound like you are only using a tiny bit and using it correctly. Remember, it is more about using a lower percentage more frequently to get the best results instead of doing a very high percentage all at once. The main thing is how yu apply it, the PH level of the acid and how you care for it afterwards. Does this help and make sense?

      Montarbo Skin Care: San Diego's Chemical Peel & Acne Facial Experts. Thank you so much for responding so quickly. I may be prone to raised skin/ keloids because the skin was a bit lumpy and the TCA caused those layers to peel so, I'm guessing it may revert, right? #sighs. Also, I notice that the skin which I treated had become darker but then afterward the skin was back to normal. I am keeping it moisture and also using a cream that is supposed to brighten scars in an attempt to combat reversion or exacerbation. Is this okay?

      Tamika Thomas hello again, yes it sounds like you're doing everything as best as you can. Just continue to be very gentle and try not to cause friction on your toes or the areas you're applying the acid. If you think you are prone to keloid scarring, please be careful as you could run into issues.

    So I just did a TCA peel for my legs and arms (I wanted get rid of all the sunburn and tan I HD accumulated on a Himalayan trek.. Don't worry I waited over a week after I got back before I did the peel) So the TCA on the legs from thigh down was approx. 20-25%.. I never done it at this strength.. Say 15% for my arms.. It's been abt 3 days and I oils and moisturized and pampered my skin and when the first cracks started chaffing off my feet I thought great it's working.. But the new skin is red and slightly swollen and terribly itchy (all over the leg now) is it cz I over moisturized?? Also, what should u suggest I do now as home care regime?
    Awaiting ur response. Thank you

      Tahnai hello and thank you for your question. I'm so sorry to hear about this, breaking out after a peel is frustrating. This is definitely something that chemical peels can do (which is to pull up any acne or congestion up). Usually, my clients would go back for several sessions if you originally went in to help alleviate acne in the first place. Did she have any acne present on her skin prior to this specific glycolic peel?

      Hello and thank you for your question. Yes this can unfortunately happen due to the acid purging and pulling oil up and out of the skin. What type of peel did you have done? If you had acne prior to your peel underneath the skin, then it is suggested to do several peels back to back in order to kill all the congestion and bacteria from the acne.

      nlopez6846 You should do six a week apart . That's what I was recommended by all the dermatologists I spoke to about wanting to do a peel for general anti aging reasons. I did my first one last night and font feel any different , lol...so I'm looking forward to the next few hopefully I'll start seeing some brightening up. I did 30% glycolic , and I did a Salicylic peel for my daughter 3 days ago which is starting to peel.ss of last night , helping to clear up her acne. I'll be doing her another one on day 7 and every week for the 6 wks . Take a break and use other retinol serums etc for 2 months before doing anymore peels. Hope this helps.

    Good Morning. Would like to know a little more what i can do to help get rid of redness? I'm using Glycolic acid 75% on 1 spot to try and remove a razor blade scar on my left cheek. • @MontarboSkinCareSanDiego
      @MontarboSkinCareSanDiego  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good morning Dawn! Thanks for watching and your question. Are you talking about the redness associated with using 75% Glycolic acid on your scar, or redness in general? Let me see if I understand and can answer this correctly. Fist of all, if you are using a genuine 75% Glycolic acid... that insanely too strong and it is most likely causing your skin to burn and your PH to be lowered severely. If this is the case, stop using it and apply a light amount of Neosporin on it and then Aveeno daily moisture which has oatmeal and dimethicone in it to helps soothe the skin.

    • @TheMikebudd

      will organic coconut oil work??

    • @MontarboSkinCareSanDiego
      @MontarboSkinCareSanDiego  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Dawn S oh okay. Coconut oil will help a bit but not much. The skin need its PH to be raised. I recommend taking a sprinkle of baking soda and add a few drops of water to it. Then mix it and apply it to the spot using a Q-tip. Do this for a min or so and leave it alone for about 10 mins. Then, if you're up for it, make a oatmeal mask. Use one tablespoon of dry oatmeal and blend it until it becomes a powder. Then take the blended powder and pour it into a bowl and add a little bit of hot water to get all the nutrients out of the oatmeal ( it should look like a paste). Let it sit for about two minutes or until it is cool to touch. Then Apply it to the spot and leave it on for 10 to 15 min and repeat as often as needed until the skin is calm down and less red. Try that and see if it helps.

      Anthoni Siem hello and thank you for your question. Yes, it can be normal for breakouts to come to the surface of the skin. If there's any congestion in the skin the chemical agent will pull it up to the surface killings some of the bacteria. It usually takes some time, hope this helps.

    HelloDo you have any advice on a chemical peel that takes more then three days to start peeling? I recently did a chemical peel underneath my eyes and it's taking a long time to reach the peeling process. If I remember correctly, I applied the tca peel on Monday. Around my eyelashe area peeled but the visible parts under my eyes look like a scabb. Is there anything I can do? Or is this process going wrong? Is it time to reach out to a dermatologist? I am open to all criticism Thank you

    • @MontarboSkinCareSanDiego
      @MontarboSkinCareSanDiego  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your question. What percentage did you use and why did you use it around your eyes only? Depending on the percentage, it's normal to have some "scabbing" scouting and brown color. You should not try to make it peel quicker because you can scar very easily. At this point, you have to let the healing process occur naturally. You can add a ton of moisture to the area so the area does not crack, bleed or scar. Did someone show you how to do this?

    • @princesssell0686
      @princesssell0686 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      20%. I watched several videos on TH-cam were people had discoloration and they used tca peels to fix problem areas. I use tca peels to target problem areas such as my knees, elbow and under my eyes. Unfortunately whenever I complete the process it takes severel weeks to peel. I am a light brown skin I don't want to lighten my skin, that's why I only used it on problem areas

    • @princesssell0686
      @princesssell0686 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I did a patch test to ensure I wouldn't have a bad reaction to the product. When I applied the product to my face I used alcohol to remove any oils on my face. Waited a few minutes and applied the peel under my eyes. When I didn't see frosting in the first 40 seconds I added a second layer. After the second layer some parts of my eye began to frost faster then others so I neutralized those areas with water using a q-tip. After the area completely frost I applied water and baking soda over the entire under eye. I wash my face once in the morning and once at night with a facial cleanser.

    • @MontarboSkinCareSanDiego
      @MontarboSkinCareSanDiego  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Princess Sell0 please be careful. TCA acid is extremely dangerous. You're brave. I recommend not these strengths on your skin type, especially around your eyes. I see people " neutralizing" TCA acid and telling people that baking soda does such a thing which tells me they should not be doing it nor have been properly trained because it not neutralized by such a product like other acids. Be patient at this point, no picking and wear toms of spf.

      abdirizak ahmed thank you for your question and being here. I'm sorry I don't understand what you mean by "line?" TCA acid is not always the best solution to help with marks on the skin. Have you tried a bleaching agent with hydroquinone in it?

      Russel kenneth Alonzo You may have sensitize your skin. I would avoid all acids and exfoliants and use an oatmeal mask on your skin. I have a video on my channel titled “how to make skin care.”

      It might not of been strong enough you might do it again and try layering it. That's what I had to do.

    Never recommended to apply steroids (hydrocortisone) to face. I'm a medical provider and this is highly discouraged, even for short periods of time. There are better ways to deal with the inflammation and irritation. A cream such as Benadryl topical will help with the itching and you can also get lidocaine containing products that will help with the irritation/discomfort. Bio oil as well as Eucerine are great post peel options for moisture and actually help the skin come off faster. Not being critical, just trying to make sure patients get correct, safe information.

    So what does one do if the peel caused a chemical burn?

    • @MontarboSkinCareSanDiego
      @MontarboSkinCareSanDiego  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Please forgive my delay. I'd need to see a photo of the burn. What type of peel did you do on yourself? Can you email a photo at montarboskicare@gmail please.

    Is developing a rash normal?

    • @MontarboSkinCareSanDiego
      @MontarboSkinCareSanDiego  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not usually but depends what kind of symptoms you are having. It’s normal to experience some pink or raw looking areas that can sting and feel sensitive. Also dryness, rough texture, itchiness, and irritation is normal as well.

    you have such an attractive personality. how much do u charge for a 40%tca?

    • @MontarboSkinCareSanDiego
      @MontarboSkinCareSanDiego  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for being here and your compliment. Unfortunately, I don't offer 40% TCA peels. Anything over 30 percent is done by a DR. I offer a very strong 20% TCA that is layred. Most don't need anything higher than a 12-15 percent if it is done correctly unless someone has deep scarring or wrinkles. Are you thinking of having a 40% done on yourself? What concerns are you having?
