Yeah he’s truly different. A lot of people that feed the homeless treat them like beggars that should be happy to get anything at all. Dennis treats them like high paying customers. And always goes above and beyond to keep things interesting and make sure they’re satisfied.

Trust me they are appreciative, I bet that they're just embarrassed for coming up to get free food, embarrassed of their own situation which is their homelessness, although some individuals do have it hard to say "thank you" such a simple word yet it doesn't always come out of one's mouth when it should.
Also give a thought for those who can’t communicate clearly, have injuries or illnesses that keep them from communicating effectively. It’s not always black and white. Dennis doesn’t stress it and we shouldn’t either.

People in these situations have way more important things to worry about, They're in survival mode, just trying to get by day by day, You're not yourself in those times, you're simply trying to stay ALIVE. When they're showed generosity, it can take a while to get out of that fight or flight mode. As long as they're not attacking or insulting the people who are trying to help them. I think them being in line and being patient and calm, means alot more then people can think.
