I joined a carnival back in 1991 and they just purchased a new Wipeout. I got to see it set up for the first time and oh my god, the diamond deck was a mirror shine! An amazing sight! I was one of the first people to ride it before we opened the next day for customers. Great ride.
I saw my first Wipeout in 1994. Pugh Shows bought one brand new in 1991. That was my first Wipeout. I didn't see a single Wipeout from 2000 to 2005 until I saw Poor Jack's Wipeout. Then my friend who owns a carnival bought a 1993 Wipeout from Smoky Mountain Amusements. I've never operated one but I have operated a Trabant
The Wipeout in this video actually was owned by Michael Jackson. He bought the Ride new from Chance in 1992 for use in Neverland, and then it was repossessed and sold at an auction to D&K Amusements of Maryland in 2000-2001. They had it until 2015 and they put the current wrap job on it in 2012. Prior to that it has motorcross bikes on the back wall. In 2015 it was sold to TJ Schmidt & Company, and that’s who owns it currently.
@@juniorhendershot4071 still has the same art on the back wall as it did when we had it, that’s how I know it’s the same one we had, because they haven’t changed it since buying it from us. And I work for the show that D&K always booked in on, so I saw it very regularly for 15 years, and we all talk, so we all know who it was sold to. As for it being Michael Jackson’s, there’s enough news articles out there on that from when D&K owned it and from more recently under TJ Schmidt & Company’s ownership of it. I believe there’s an article from August 2009 at the Shenandoah County Fair in Virginia about it from when D&K owned it. Several articles about the Neverland rides in general have stated “Derek Long of Pennwood Shows now operates the Wipeout”, and Derek was the D in D&K, they always just say Pennwood because Derek is the son of my boss, and my boss owns Pennwood, and when he bought the ride he hadn’t really grown the D&K namesake yet.
@@EclipseOfMusicDJ ok but this year is not there because is broken paint came off the starks came of the lever pull back is broken to everything is broken:( is in the workshop 3,0000 mile why is my best fav ride the wipe out guy is my crush and is coming here next year and i want to see it but is not there anymore and i want to take it home with me
Omg this is one of the worst experiences for me. Because you sit 2 people side to side, the outer person gets pushed by the person that sits inside. In my case, I was a child and the guy was like 115 kilograms. It hurt a lot I thought I was gonna die :D
From a English view another staple ride on the funfair in 70s/80/90s but sadly rarely seen these days nicknamed. Hully gully satellite l mexican hat amongst other names I would say they usually spin much faster in the uk before they take off I suppose in 2020 some of theses rides have been transformed and u sit in vertically weather this will make a comeback im not so sure since kmg huss have entered the thrillride manfacutering really has changed to unimaginable thrillrides

Poor Jack is currently redoing their Wipeout
@@sirrides-a-lot7153 It really needs it bad. I imaging after 33 years on the road it would look less than new.
I love this ride. When I was a kid, I knew it as the "Casino". It was made to look like a roulette wheel.
Oh
