  • We backpacked down to a desert canyon and caught dozens of native Redband Trout. Redbands are a subspecies of Rainbow Trout and live in 6 different US states. Fishing in the Spring can be tough. Find a tailwater, fish a lake, or get somewhere where runoff isn't happening, like the desert!

    • @tenkararodco
      @tenkararodco  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      We were using the Beartooth, Sierra, and White Cloud rods. We went with shorter rods because we knew the fish were going to be small and not spook too easily. But we definitely could have fished bigger rods.

      I get why you would think that and normally that is the case but these are actually native Redband trout, and redbands retain their par marks through adulthood.
