Instead of the sandpaper, I lined the handle base with a leather pad. I think this is just easier and does the same thing.
Thanks for the video very helpfull being new to leather working, could you do a video on edge finishing on medium tempered chrome tan.
Good information on using a strap cutter. Wish this video would of been out about a month ago!! But after only one mistake I was able to cut 9 good 3/4" straps from 8-9 oz water buffalo leather. Keep up the good videos!!! Also, thank you so much for the quick delivery of my leather order!!! Juddie Burgess
Thanks for watching, Juddie! We're happy you found it helpful! Sounds like you've got the hang of cutting straps :) Thanks for choosing us, and happy leather crafting!! :)
Good tools have to be made decent from factory....not afterwards by the buyer. A bigger and decent knob to lock the strap cutter allows you to fasten the strap cutter tighter without using pliers...so no need to glue any sandpaper on the tool. I like the helpfull tips.
How about some info on changeing the blade
If you put the same thickness leather on each end, or 1 mm thicker, it might help keep the wood from getting too tight on the leather.
can you make a video on draw gage?
