Being a kid in the 90s was amazing. I have fond memories of watching this show while playing with my action figures in the living room. I still enjoy watching it today. Thank you for covering this. Great video.
I’d go so far as to say that it was _best_ being born in ‘80 ~ ‘82 - you got to be a young kid in the ‘80’s and an older kid in the mid- to latter-‘90’s by which time you were old enough to be privy to the ‘mini-Golden Age’ of horror movies that _Scream_ ushered in, and you were a legal (or rather a ‘functional’), adult by ‘99 ~ ‘00, when it was still a pretty cool world of music, movies and culture in which to graduate into . . . It all really took the ultimate irrevocable turn for the worse around 2008 in my estimate, accelerating exponentially around ‘14 ~ ‘15 . . . I’d call _Ghostbusters ‘16_ the first major flashpoint whereby the generally cool if already years-old ‘culture war’ suddenly got majorly hot 🤣
@@fletcherhamilton3177i kept trying to find this show i remember that dad going off on his son playing that "Devil music" that was causing all kinds of supernatural things happening
The quintessential 'Twilight Zone' suitable for kids. Great set-up & vibe, clever ideas and quite hilarious. Thanks for covering this show, that took me back in time!
Eerie, Indiana was my show! Everything you said in regards to not talking down to the kids of our generation, made it more appealing (sadly, the Fox Kids follow-up, "The Other Dimension" missed that memo), but experiencing Indy in it's original run--along with Unsolved Mysteries--we didn't know how good we had it! "ATM with a Heart of Gold" was my favorite episode. Mr Wilson..creep factor on 10!
Mid to late 90s was a great time for tv and film. Hercules, Xena, Jack of all Trades, Cleopatra 2525, Babylon 5, Deep Space Nine, TNG, XFiles, Brisco County JR, Sliders, The Untouchables, WwE attitude era, Glow, 90s anime, Deep Impact, The Matrix, The Mummy, Armageddon, Blair Witch, Independence Day, PlayStation, Sega, Pc gaming, such as Baldurs Gate, Nocturne and on and on
I grew up in the UK and this was totally my favourite show and couldnt wait for it to be on every week.....I'm off to stream it and re-live being a kid in the '90s!
I liked how they handled the spin-off and how they tied it into the original. I’m surprised it wasn’t mentioned that it was posed as a somewhat sequel. Rewatching as an adult it felt like as a kid there were so many more seasons than there were lol but I guess that’s what it’s like being a kid
I watched the show with my kids. It seemed to be a show for both kids and parents. [Side note: Dick Miller was in the original "Little Shop of Horrors" from the early 1960s.]
Revisited this a year ago and absolutely loved jumping back in time. None of my friends remembered it. So strange. It always floated around my memories. Thanks for the vid!
Eerie Indiana feels like it should have been a Nickelodeon show. It had the same style and feel of their live action shows at that time. NBC just didn't know what the hell to do with it.
I was 12 when this came out and I remember loving it ! It was a good time to come of age . I was one of the Fortunate few who got to be a kid in the 80’s and became a teen in the 90’s. .
Same here. Remember actually riding bikes around the neighborhood, getting into trouble lmao. I hardly see any kids playing outside I’m not in my 40’s. The most I see is kids walking home from school. Not riding bikes or playing out side strange world we’ve become.
Loved this show as a kid! Awesome show, about 10 years ago I was ecstatic when I saw they had all episodes on prime video. Just had to binge the series again for nostalgia from back when I was a kid in 91.
One of my all time favorite shows growing up! I remember a long time ago trying to find it on DVD but wasn't able to unfortunately. I'd love to get the whole series and rewatch it, just like I am right now with the entire Tales From The Crypt series (minus season 7 cuz...well...season 7 really sucks lol).
There appears to have been a 2004 release, it's pricey and out of print, but not super expensive. Less expensive if you can can get an import copy to work.
This was a favorite of mine as kid. Sad it went so soon. My favorite episode was The Broken Record. I feel it definitely was taking some notes from 1987’s The Gate.
I LOVED this show growing up. It broke my heart when it never came back. I knew no other kids that were into the show though...so I suppose that makes sense.
I watched this show in the morning everyday in the 7th and 8th grade. I remember thinking it looked very 90s. I didn't realize it was an old show. It was feeding me the mystery before school
The eye joke was perfect. Done lovingly and gave her a chuckle to bring her out of the dark. She's got support from people who aren't afraid to tell her things straight. She'll be okay ❤
Storyteller and this were some of the best tv on Network tv. The family resemble the family from classic family sitcoms, and are oblivious and sometimes victims of the supernatural aesthetics of the cursed town. Loved watching this with my dad, Marshall was the bestZ
I vaguely remember this show, and it's a shame that it didn't last too long. Omri Katz was a decent actor between here, Hocus Pocus and Matinee, and it's a shame that he eventually retired from the industry all together.
I truly enjoy your videos, Nikki! They’re well produced, and your narration is always a great reminder of episodes we’d long forgotten; but now want to revisit because of you! Thank you !
I loved this show as a kid. I even joy it as an adult. My friends and I thought it was strange to have an episode based in central Indiana with daylight savings- “The Lost Hour”. We didn’t have daylight savings and our clocks stayed the same and we bounce between Eastern & Central times for tv programming lol Still was a great episode!
When I downloaded the show by torrent, it only had about 13or so episodes (the last one was where he gets stuck in time and stuff). And until I searched for it again on a streaming site that listed like 20 plus episodes, that was all I remembered. There was a definite change in tone half way through the season where it seems like more 'kid friendly' stories and themes were demanded from the higher ups and I think for the worst.
I remember catching the daylight savings time episode as a kid, along with the one where the kid gets the retainer that allows him to hear dogs talking. Both episodes were intriguing enough for me to remember, although for the longest time I had no idea what show they were from, or if it was even from a show at all. If not for me remembering that Omri Katz was in it I may have never found Eerie Indiana, or been able to watch the series as a whole. The daylight savings episode is still my favorite episode, but a close second would probably be the one where Marshal finds himself in an alternate reality where his life is just a tv show.
Still one of my favorite shows of all times. I rewatch it all the time and cam’t wait to show it to my daughter in a couple years. AND I still add a dash & X to my signature to this very day. He was so cool when I was a kid. I loved Dash. He was almost like Spike from Buffy before there was a Buffy. Plus anything from Joe Dante is fantastic.
One thing I love about the Losers is that, if you watch carefully enough you can see Al take the briefcase. Not physically but you can see it sliding along the counter behind Edgar.
I didn’t appreciate it was a kid. It came on after goosebumps and my grandma would record both for me. Once I was a preteen I loved it and was disappointed my grandma had stopped recording them.
As a kid growing up in Indiana, this show was soooo special! It always felt like my home state was literally invisible- except for Goodmorning, Miss Bliss….
In the episode with Ray Walston, his character showed he also had the plus and minus marks on him hands because they were from either another planet or dimension (I don't remember that part clearly because I've had bad memory issues that doctors are trying to get to the root of.
