I remember watching this game with my dad and sister back in the 2nd grade. The entire comeback, we were going crazy. When Brian Shaw hit the 3 to tie the game at 100, we jumped up and screamed. One of my favorite memories.
9:14 was my favorite part! For those that saw that game, Cuban was actin' stupid and crazy while talkin that trash. He used to be real annoying at games, toned it down a bit now. That face is priceless! Also been watching the Lakers since they traded for Shaq and Kobe back in 96. Hard to believe it's been 20 years almost, and now hes finally retiring. There have been so many great Laker moments with Kobe/Shaq, and Kobe/Pau, definitely gonna miss those days. Wonder how the Lakers will turn it around with Dr Jerry Buss gone.
he was also robbed in 2003 when he averaged 30 ppg 6 apg 7 rpg 2 spg leading the lakers without shaq most of the year to the playoffs as the fourth seed he had 9 straight 40 point games and 11 straight 35 point games
SuperArab I think the difference today is that the talent just isn’t the same. Kobe is once in a generation, we’ll never see a player like Shaq again. And Nash and Dirk are HOF. All of those guys won MVP at least once. I’m biased towards the flare that 2000s players played with, but even without that, we just don’t see these kinds of players in the NBA anymore
This game had gigantic implications as it turned out in 2002-03. Dallas tied San Antonio for the league's best record, but the Spurs had tiebreakers. The Spurs got all the spoils- division title, best record in conference and league, home-court advantage all postseason. If they just hold onto that 4th quarter lead, they're the #1 seed and have homecourt advantage all the way. For those that say the NBA regular season doesn't ultimately matter big-picture, I give you this game.
He should have when Nash won his second but deserved the first. Kobe has a very odd career arc for a player of his caliber. He wasn't the best player on his team for the first 8 years of his career, then he was amazing but his team wasn't. Then his team was amazing at the same time he was but Lebron had emerged then as the best player or at least up there with him.
they need guys that can shoot 3s, reb isn't important at that time, as least not that important. Also they need Perimeter defense, shaq is better of paint area defense rather than perimeter defense.
YOU DON'T SEE QUEEN JAMES DOING SHIT LIKE THAT HE WANTS TO BE SET UP FIRST AND KOBE FUCK THAT THIS GAME IS MIND, LOVE YOU ALWAYS KOBE AND GIGI BRYANT. ♥️♥️🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀
kobe is god's gift to basketball!!!
The torch was passed that season and it became Kobe's Lakers instead of Shaq's.
