    Felt like chatting with my friends about this movie🎉

  • @ramvaradan
    @ramvaradan ปีที่แล้ว +13

    An excellent, gripping watch. So realistic. A few questions:
    1) It's odd that lovers lost each other, kept at bay inspite of the closed networks, technology. Not believable.
    2) Why did Easwaran not defend himself vehemently when under suspicion? That seemed really odd.. it's natural human impulse to cry out loud in defense. He seemed to have a mystic silence about it almost resigned approach to the accusation. I felt that it was overdramatized.
    3) Why didn't the friends realize the repercussions of vigilante style revenge? Of course Sakthi's revelation looked real and convincing. But inspite of the cop in the group, the cliched revenge angle couldn't be averted. In reality, it seldom is like that! It finally took Sakthi's punch line to bring him to senses. Easwaran seemed to be counting on going scot-free after the crime.
    4) The most cinematic moment in the movie comes from the actual revenge - as expected. If the story & script really purports & prides in being realistic, it must also grapple with the notion that for a regular guy, with no violence in the past & has gentle disposition all his life (as consistent in his characterization), it's unfathomable to transform into a vengeful killer brutally stabbing another man in broad daylight at a public place. Unremarkable transformation, leap of faith!

      After so much of good thing in this movie, if some is able to pick up so much of reality issue then those would have been definitely thought about by this director who has made such a craft, so the answer is simple , it's subjective

    • @ramvaradan
      @ramvaradan ปีที่แล้ว

      @@shanmuganandkanniappan7193 The craft is never in question, its very very good. But the question is still valid.
      Why did E not defend himself? Because he froze (seems to be the answer by the Director) -- which is inconsistent with his characterization. He seems to be a clear thinker/problem solver. He gave the vital clues when cops were eating dessert. So I cannot wrap around the fact that he just failed to defend himself when it comes to a crucial character question.
      1) He seems to be strong in defending others well, so he would have at least the same impulse to defend himself
      2) He never ever leaves Sundari alone, so there is a clear reason.
      3) Apart from that - he also called Vadivelu to flag the issue. Why? Why would he call uncle of the girl he just molested ...? You saw how guilty he felt after slapping the B.I.L into the drain..!
      The staging makes it very clear that he did everything for a reason not confused/dazed. Only reason that he didn't defend himself - plain more melodrama!!

    • @shanmuganandkanniappan7193
      @shanmuganandkanniappan7193 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep so in my perspective, the stage is clearly set for the girl's father who got molested is all in rage with eswaran for what had happened to him before and with the evidence is all out for eswaran.
      In this case in the point of view of eswaran, how on earth can his sister in law and his friend even ask a question on this as they know him and his character and just asking such a question is too much.
      And even if he says I don't know they cannot make up or believe a story told to them, theirs a ego in you that goes very high if your dearest make wrong judgement on you.

      In Interview with BR, he told
      "Kamal sir told me that it was a beautiful scene, as he went to some place after 10 years, he wanted to revist & fell. He broke him arm, ppl around him asked why did you go there and he replied "therila".
      Some times we humans do react like that, as you all know that Easwaran isn't clear there, he don't know how to face this issue.
      Although he has a reason to leave her there, he told sundari that I'm gonna punish her alone... bla bla bla.... He confused himself, he knows he didn't do it, but he also doesn't know how to convey the reason why he left her there which he never does.

    sorry, just a small thing - Siddharth's face seems to be out of focus slightly throughout, compared to the host's or director's face - just a technical thing to watch out for next time maybe.

    Mr Arun just keeping making hard hitting films like PP and Chittha. Avoid big stars big banners and cliched storylines ( lost in the two films with Sethupathy)
