I run an old Denharco stroke boom Delimber. I have to deal with the short twisted hardwoods of Vermont. If I was nice straight softwood like that it would be a dream. lol
@@TRichard30 I think there is a little more footage of a cutter forwarder and some additional delimmer footage. The guy who shot the original video was a delimmer operator so he goes over all the controls as part of the narration. It was interesting.
Admittedly, I don't know. If I had to guess, I'd assume he'd be in his mid 70's. I knew of 1 of the guys in the video (Stan). He was a delimmer opportunity that my dad was friends with. This was a pretty crazy life. These guys spent 3.5 days a week together. Some (including my dad) did it for 16 year.
No one likes scraping a 5th wheel. After my dad left GNP he became a class a truck driving instructor for a local vocational school. Those students that thought they were going to get one over on him....got the fine job of scraping and greasing the 5th wheel :-)

I used to think 5th wheel grime was bad until you wrestle a broken roller chain on the delimber
