    Probably the best instructional video on youtube. Not having the usual cringworthy "Whassup TH-camrs" voiceover is great.

    Very clear and instructive video. However I did not see any grease being used. Is that the normal way? Don't we need a torque spanner?

    • @autodocuk
      @autodocuk  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You are absolutely right, in practice you should definitely use a torque wrench and observe the appropriate tightening torques; the bearing comes lubricated from the manufacturer's factory.

    Do these wheel bearings have embedded encoder rings/seals for the ABS. In other words, does the direction that the bearing is installed make a difference?

    • @autodocuk
      @autodocuk  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes in this case the bearing has a built-in magnetic ring for the ABS sensor, you need to install it correctly, you can find out more precise information in the technical documentation for the repair of your car.

    • @NicholasRiviera-Dr
      @NicholasRiviera-Dr ปีที่แล้ว

      @@autodocuk thanks, I had a feeling that was the case. I have seen on other TH-cam videos people use a paper clip to determine what side the magnet is on. Most people don’t have access to the technical documentation for their vehicle and as after market resellers of parts I am sure you guys know that. Most people who watch these videos are DIY’ers. If people install the bearing around the wrong way they get ABS problems. Since it is such a big issue and would require removal of the newly installed bearing and purchase of another bearing to then be installed correctly, I’m surprised that you guys didn’t cover it in your tutorial. Don’t misunderstand me, I’m greatful for the effort and presentation you have made and it has helped me immensely, but it’s actually very important to orientate the bearing the correct way

  • @barrynelson3800

    Did you catch that part of the original bearing is still left on the wheel shaft(Check it out at 7:01)? You could see the ball bearings when it was taken apart and this means part of the double bearing is still on the shaft(I had to grind a fracture cut into the retained bearing part and then remove by smacking it with a chisel to crack it). Therefore, you still have to remove a part of the two-part bearing and this is not shown in the video, right?

      Thank you for the feedback! This video is considered to be an informative one, and it shows the sequence of repairs, without going into all the technical nuances. Best regards, Autodoc.
