I’m usually not a fan of heavy vfx and very fast paced travel videos but this one showed many landscapes,architecture, culture, and people so I give this one a thumbs up👍🏼
That dude is epic as his last name... I was wondering about that last scene too. It could be some crazy rotoscoping of the guy running, snow 3D layer, and an actual timelapse. Either way, incredible! Either way, loved seeing your take on it Flo!
my theory on the last shot is that it was a bluelight/overcast day shot(look at the mountains), where he graded it to look more like night, replaced the sky with a moon timelapse, everything looked so clean because of how he layered it, every single effect except the snow was below the keyed out layer. the snow that was naturally falling looked like a 3d overlay then he faded in what looked like a particle effect that he made spin. then it looks like he manually tracked a flare effect where he was able to increase the parameters to flash out the screen, or it was a levels effect that he masked to look more circular. but i think he uses a flare effect because it fades into a normal flare, brightness must've been bumped heavy for the cut. my apologies if i explained it poor, i suck with explaining how to pull off effects.

Yo Florian, to be honest, you only break down the simple effects, every one knows of masks and time lapses, its crazy cause i feel most people are knowledgable of these effects by now, i think itd be more insightful if you actually knew how to break down the difficult effects, (the luma fade effect, lens flare effect, the building effect, the day to night color grading transitions) just some thought bro!
Sung Kim no he is doing an amazing job breaking down what he is seeing. I am learning from all of his videos and I do not think it’s simple stuff he is talking about. It’s knowledge I myself is appreciative of.
thanks for sharing your feedback man, appreciate the constructive criticism! totally understand your points. the videos are intended for beginner editors to give them inspiration and motivation not to teach advanced editing techniques. also the video just barely scratch the surface. there are many people out there who deliver exactly such break-downs and tutorials as you describe 😎 but maybe some thought for a more advanced series in the future
