Thanks! I tried several approaches to figure out what works best. At first, I experimented with a somewhat Egyptian style, but it didn’t work very well in practice for me. While it could make a great instrumental-only track, I found it challenging to curate the AI in creating a good song overall. So, Industrial Metal with some electronic elements it is! I am very happy with this final result :)

It just occurred to me. The music vids for WH40K are awesome, & mostly the reason I like this stuff. But I noticed the pics are a rough match, not that it's a problem I just wonder why. The Astartes loyal and traitor were only using guitars and banners (as far as I remember), yet they had 100% accurate armour match. it just strikes me as odd, that's all but seriously all the Transformers, Star Wars, LOTR and WH40K songs along with the few halo songs are great
The art is AI-generated, so it depends on whether the AI is familiar with a character. 40K Astartes are easy because the AI knows them, and they’re essentially the same with different colors. Necrons aren’t straightforward for the AI, so I had to curate an interpretation that captures the right feel, even if it's not a perfect match.

The worst song I've listened in this channel so far. Cannot associate this melody with necrons, it simply does not fit. It lacks gravitas, magnificence, trascendence, as expected by the most technological advanced race in 40K, and the oldest one. Listen to Mechanicus 2 trailer and you feel all of these things. Metal does not fit here, too "noisy". Something much more instrospective is required, something in the style of cyberpunk (the genre, not the game). DeusEx HR/MD OST.... that style.
Thanks for the feedback :) I actually tried a more atmospheric approach like you suggested, but when I tried to add vocals to an instrumental in that style, it just didn’t come together as a good song, or at least, I couldn’t make it work. That’s why I leaned into my Plan B, which aligns more with my style: industrial metal with electronic elements. I felt this suited the Necrons as an entire army rather than focusing on specific key characters, each of whom might have a different feel. I appreciate your perspective, though, and I’ll keep it in mind for future projects!
@@TheAutomaticSinger Thanks for taking constructive criticism so well. But you know, there are more styles than Metal... it tends to fit in W40K in general, but not always. If you ignore the lyrics and focus in the music, you will never guess this song is for necrons. The same does not happen in others like Vulkan's or Alpharius', they easily reminisce the characters.
