Brave call, leaving the doors of the defender open when moving cow to new grass😂😅 I was waiting to the door follow the hip of a cow 🙈
I’ve wrapped bales in same situation and had zero issue
If the plane is doing that quite often, they could be student pilots learning how to recover from an engine stall and recovery
You should not underestimate Gate Lady. 😊
You could build a good size silage clamp where you a stacking the round bales.
Oh you are a Brave man. 😊
Gate Lady is not to be messed with. 😊
There is a Flying School just north of Perth on the way to Coupar Angus. The stall and restart is part of the flight training. You could let them Know. 😊😊
The fermentation process for wrapped bales is quite gentle and a small amount of sand/dust should have little effect
Wee bit just zero issue i expect in comparison to mud which some people will have in bales this year from very wet fields
Surely the net wrap will offer a bit of protection from the sand, not like band, it does cover the bale.
Ideally it would be mixed in but others might be able to advise if the cows would top up on straw even though the silage was available if it was put in the passage. I think with your system, restricting the silage would just lead to the weaker cows missing out.
Depending on the straw/silage it might be possible to get to 50% straw before cutting it back closer to calving with a feed wagon. Something to think about in years to come.
It's private pilots doing training exercises out of Perth Airport, drop in and speak to the training schools, and they will avoid your farm, plenty of other locations to use.
Good reversing.
Good video go gate lady when can we meet her Crawford
Watching from MT, love your Bozeman, MT hat!
The annoying plane is probably perth flight school
as regards your bale situation Crawford nearly ever farmer here in Ireland in same situation as regards amount got and second growth nearly none existing
Frustrating
Spot on Tom.. fields cut a month ago that got slurry straight away and artificial after that still light as hell. Second cut going to be light. Long winter ahead 😢
Tell me about it 😢 yield down so much this year - maybe 2/3rds per field 😐😔
Why didn't you get a baler/wrapper combo - it would save the double handling of the bales - or don't you have them in your corner of the world
I’m not sure if the steep wet hills are an issue for the heavy Simmental bulls?? Get more Angus bulls
Not sure it’s the breed rather the feeding they got to get them to sale condition before they bought them that’s causing the issues.
It would be good if someone stepped forward to showcase what their bulls could achieve who don’t over feed. I might be wrong but I’d love to see it.
@@JohntyNich having worked with pedigree Angus and used continentals id say breed makes a difference on that land
@@stuartmowbray4770 can’t argue with that 👍
could if your lucky get the ground turned around first after the combine and you could but some rye grass or a type of fast-growing grass to get some more silage.
Or early spring grazing
Could the bulls going lame be because of a lack of exercise when in their bull pens?
Why not get a wrapper/baler? All done on one job
must be bad year for sunflowers, mine are only about 8 ft tall this year, were over 16 ft last year (I do have a large greenhouse though)
Stuppit question …why did u put the bales directly onto the bare ground…rain etc , ( or dust) could seeped in ..why did nt you put maybe pallets down. Apologies if it’s stuppit I m a Glasgow townie
Well sealed, dirt wont get in, also they are 600kg each so pallets would collapse anyways
Will you be able to treat any Straw this year Crawford?
Not at the moment, no one doing it. In the hunt for a stainless tank tho
Why don’t you wrap in field
Good on ye girl well done
i saw a farmer out in west lothian sowing on the 17th of july god knows why, harvester out in the next field
Crawford, are you going to Paris to cheer for Duncan??
If anything you would have a higher ash content in the bales
Great videos 👍👌
I only know farming from Fs22 game can someone help me understand and learn?
So they are wrapping hay that makes silage? I thought it was grass you wrap? Or put in a pile then cover?
Hay doesnt need wrapped, but grass gets wrapped for silage 👍🏼
@@CrawfordsFarm1 ahh so that is grass you have there getting wrapped. Could I ask how much loose silage would go for per ton? And how much are bales going for you have there?
Not sure about loose but bales are £20/25 each and weigh 600kg ish
You need to remember to take your waterproof trousers down a bit when you need a pee Crawford 😂
Get flight radar 24 you might be able to their info good luck 🤞🏻
If you can get the registration number from the plane then contact the CAA to track down owner... 🤔 And I hope Gate Lady challenges you to 5 attempts to work the washing machine and dish washer... 🤔😏
😅 cant be that hard?
Cracking reversing skills from the gate lady who said women can't drive?
Why don’t you buy a rake if you’re doing all this silage ?
What camera filming kit do you use
Iphone 14, gopro10, mavic air 3 drone
Second cut?
You’re better with a little dust or sand than soil in the bale as you likely know the soil is bad news for animals in silage
Great video Crawford 👌
Dust won't get in air can't
👍👍👍
👀🙄🐾👍
Crawford that aeroplane mate has a number on the side of it,if you make a note of it and ypu can file a complaint against them mate
Crawford, has euro gone lame yet?
Videos not a good look for Simmy bulls!
It's funny how men think they have a monopoly on driving ability.
Can u give me a shout out in the Friday video because it’s my 12th bday
