You can’t blame the economy for that. You have to ask yourself if you’re taking the necessary measures to avoid losses even if the pay shift isn’t in your favour.

Tesla energy storage, sales, and VPP will dwarf the auto industry. They are doubling every 6 months.
I'm sure it'll slow down eventually, but 2% becomes 8%, 32% in 3 years. By year 4 it's over 60% of the company. Ofcourse, robo-taxi and bot will dwarf that.

Why did the stock go kinda high today?
I am a dividend investor for the most part but I have bought Tesla stock a couple of times. However I have bought Tesla stock again and will hold for the long haul this time.
In my taxable account I went into dividend investing route. In my Roth I did the buy and hold route with an S&P 500 etf and total market etf along with some Berkshire B stock and SCHD.
I’m looking for where to begin putting in some funds that will aid me after retirement. Saving up isn't giving anything in return.
I haven't consistently contributed to retirement accounts, leaving them with insufficient funds to maintain their desired lifestyle during retirement
On your own you could seek out several of these financial advisors, make sure the one you settle on is a fiduciary and not a fake.
Know what you're getting out of it and see if your targets can be met.

Phil casually said BYD Q1 EV sales were 420k. Their actual sales were 300,114 world wide. He included PHEVs in his "pure electric" numbers.

BYDs pure EV sales Q1 was 300,114. Their hybrid sales were 324k. I have no idea where Phil's number comes from. Maybe a different quarter.

Are these actually cars sold and in possession of retail customers? Every city in the US has huge rented parking lots with hundreds of Teslas "delivered" but not sold. Those could account for half the Teslas delivered.

NO other BEV maker has ever made a fing profit so that isnt' saying much.Tesla has made money from 2020 through 2024 with a current PE of 58 - that means it would take decades for their profits to pay an investment back. However; if you haven't noticed Tesla has been forced to cut prices; they are also losing big money on cybertrucks. SO are they managing to make a profit - that is a serious question this quarter; putting out more cars but losing money on each one could mean losing billions and a big red flag.

Yes it does mean more profits because Tesla sold more cars than it produces. Those extra cars were inventory cars, cars that Tesla had paid for in Q1 and now they are pure profit.
