Been there done that 😊🤞. Very realistic and practical tutorial. Thanks for your effort. Will try with a walking foot in next time although it worked without the walking foot even with thick velours fabric.
What is the advantage of stitching the header tape onto double thickness fabric? Hope that makes sense. I’ve only ever turned over 4 centimetres at the top and and then stitched on the header tape.
Hey, I did not sew them together. When sewing curtains you can use the width of the fabric as length for the curtain panel. This way your curtain will be one continuous piece
Depends on what you want to achieve. From look, insulation, drape, reducing sunlight you can use a variety of fabrics. Cotton, linen, polyester, silk, wool, rayon, acrylic, viscose, and mixes of these materials can all make quality drapery fabric.
This is such an excellent video! Thank you so much for making it! I have one question, what kind of fabric did you use for this video? It looks so nice.
Hey, you need tracks for this type of curtains OR you can use another type of hooks+rings and hang them on a rod. I have a separate tutorial specifically for rod pocket curtains
It is the extra fabric used across the width of the track pole or curtain rod. It affects how your curtains will look as it creates the waves in the drapes. You have more waves when you increase the fullness
Hello, at 7 minutes in, when you're beginnning to sew the tape (pleating / heading, I forget what you call it) - what was the little tool you used to slide underneath the foot of the machine? Can you tell us why you used it etc? I did click the link, but couldn't find it. As a beginner - in terms of making curtains anyway - I have high hopes for this one, because the instructions are so detailed yet so clear - which is unusual for a TH-cam 'craft' tutorial. Thank you in advance.
It really depends. I haven't timed myself, but I guess it would take between couple of hours to an afternoon. Of course you don't have to finish everything in one go
wish me luck, this is going to be my first sewing project
How did it go
Thanks, a guy here with no experience and that was helpful.

@@HelloSewing thank you❤️
The first step might be washing and drying the fabric at least twice to account for shrinkage.
Some fabric may shrink after a second wash and dry.
Good suggestion!
Hello mam can you give me the materials? I dont know the parts to need. Thanks and God bless
Which sewing machine is used?
How about if you've got a bay window?
Same idea. Just make separate curtains for each window

It looks like a case of extra sewing needles, and I think she is using it to prop up the back of the presser foot.
how long would curtains like these take to be made? from start to finish
