There is definitely something special about the Switch. I have sold my SX and PS5 as have completed all of the games I am interested in and am now waiting for the PS5 Pro and the next Series console. I’m currently playing exclusively on my Switch OLED and it’s so good. Playing through TOTK handheld is so liberating over having to be tied to a desk.
I think the switch 2 will be more like a portable series S which is really good. I’m interested to see optimization of games for it. Also the APU specs are leaked to be based on ampere which is 3000 series based so it will actually be around the same age as PS5/Series X APU.
I watched that episode where you announced the switch 2 specs via moba pad. Looked around to no one else talking about it. You were the first to announce it!!! RGT, Wulfden and others didn't credit you guys at all. I personally was wondering about that. Sorry mates at least I acknowledge you, cheers!
Thanks dude, I was a little hopeful one of them would... but no. I think what happened was some bigger blogs picked it up and ran with it after our video and then the likes of RGT, Wulff etc ran with that. Shame, but hey at least we all know ;) Thanks too for being here dude.
If the Switch 2 does gain Xbox and PS games and they play well, then I have no doubt it will smash records, again. The current Switch is still an amazing console, and I LOVE the fact that Nintendo games are both the purveyor of 4 player couch coop as well as playing handheld in great single player games, covers all bases. I will buy one, no doubt. It will be the Dogs Bollox.
Haven’t the leaked Switch 2 specs posted on Famiboard suggested that it’s likely to be somewhere in between PS4 Pro and the Series S? That may be enough to run Call of Duty, Halo, and Final Fantasy, but that doesn’t suggest that the Switch 2 will be the most definitive and powerful way to play those games. We won’t even be certain if GTA6 could work on it either until we know how big that game is or when the Switch 2 specs are actually confirmed.
I know the console fanboy zealots are loosing their minds about cross platform, but I love the fact that XBOX and PS are bringing out their games on PC. I bought 4 PS games today for a steal on the Epic store and can actually play the best version of the game without needing to own a specific piece of plastic. I still own the consoles as well, but love the fact that I can consume the games how I choose!
Problem with Nintendo is their store/prices. I would much rather buy a Steamdeck even if with weaker performance then to buy a stronger Switch but have to pay the double or triple price for the same game.
Ummm I wander who that member is who blasts out the podcast out of a speaker at work. Hahah but yeah I loved this episode. I think the premise of Nintendo "ending the console war" depends solely on them having decent third party games. I know the Super Switch (or whatever it'll be) will be over £300 and tbh I don't see most people paying £300+ to play Mario
@@128kbpodcast Well, I doubt Microsoft would let Halo go to any other console, but if the Switch 2: Electric Boogaloo could run the new CoD then yeah I'd pick one up, provided Microsoft doesn't make an Xbox handheld.
Switch 2 = 4k 60fps as bare minimum? Way more powerful as Xbox Series S? You guys expect waaaayyyyyy too much. This is Nintendo. Don't forget that. They'll use old hardware. They'll underclock it for more battery and the Switch 2 is already outdated as we speak. That's by design. Nintendo want its that way to maximise profits.
No one's expecting true (native) 4K...it will be upscaled 4K. Upscaled 4K with 60fps will absolutely be possible for the Switch successor. Not for every single game, as it all depends on game type, size of game, complexity of game, etc. But we will see it in some way shape or form (just not native).
I only found you guys a few weeks ago, and this has very quickly become one of my favorite podcasts.
ahhhh that's made my day. Thanks so much :)

You're absolutley right, there's something liberating about the handheld experience. And that OLED screen... I just hope the SW2 has the same

A portable series S would be everything we need. Sounds amazing… unless Xbox want to step in to the handheld space too?
My new favourite gaming podcast! I only discovered you recently so I've been binging all your past episodes 😊
Yay, thank you! Really means a lot!
The timing for Switch 2 is perfect in a lot of ways. I agree.

Your welcome, love the podcast btw you have way too many shorts, in my opinion.
It's exciting time to have handhelds. I can't see me replacing my steam deck oled anytime soon though. Still the goat

I totally agree. I love the move to cross platform

Very true, a lot hinges on 3rd party. But would you get one if it had the latest COD or Halo playable on it?

we are over enthusiastic that's for sure!
As has been the case with the Switch, the successor will be for gamers, not tech bros pretending to be gamers.
