I love how excited you get when a design works out. Your smile and energy is infectious and your designs are gorgeous. Thank you for always starting our Sunday’s off in such an upbeat positive way. Would love to see a vlog of a week in the life totally enjoy the snip it’s of your family. ❤️
You are the queen of figuring out how to do these things. Love you talking to yourself like we all do when trying something new. We have to be our own cheerleaders.
I did lots of these in the 'noughties, in sheer stretch mesh, with a paisley skeleton print, and heavier knit versions. It was my go-to Gallery Chic extra layer. Orly, you will go nuts when you discover you can wear it upside down! to create a lush full collar, with a cute cropped swing back. Or make it out of satin, and twist it centre back, for a contrast in matte and satin texture. Choose how far apart (or asymmetric placement) to cut the armholes, for other interesting drapes, or racer backs. Endless variations.
Wowza! FOR THE WIN!! Again and again. You See something elegantly simple and beautiful, then break it down with the "how can i?" And Make the Magic! And bring us along♡♡♡ Thank you for sharing your inspiration, how to"s and your beautiful energy. 😍
LOVE seeing this!!!!! 😍 Orly hits it outta the park again! Finishing Note: Hand stitch or fabric tack the ends of the arm holes so the row doesn’t run. Your knit columns won’t run from those edges but where you cut it will run from either end. Or, let it run and it becomes an accent for a distressed piece. This is the magic of knit items. 💖 Happy crafting friends!!!
Those two holes may drop stitch. This is a wonderful idea for up-cycling an old scarf into a usable top. We called those "big mom-ma pins "Kilt Pins" (when we wore pleated, plaid, wool, wrap skirts (Kilts) back in the 1950's). Just one of those kilt pins held my kilt closed on the left side ( so the wind, or a mean boy, could not flip my kilt open). Thank you for this video.
Very generous of you to say "WE DID IT". In all fairness, I do feel involved. For every glee filled facial expression you made, I made three. Each application discovery, I was right there with you! Which I need to add the lines from the top of your cut on one side lined up straight across for the line you made on the other side...which made that line in the knit to form intentional perfection when it laid upon your front. So proud of being part of the " WE " that did it! ~ PS. YOU ARE FREAKING BRILLIANT. (no we in that part).
I just love how there are so many ways to wear this jackets/top, just amazing. This would work with a lighter fabric for the summer and for those of us in the tropical area.😍😍😍
So Awesome! ❤️ I know it’s probably nerve racking filming live as you figure out your next step but I love this new style of video from you and your excitement is contagious 😃
Every week you surprise my with your fantastic creations. And i love your reaction if it works. Your the absoluut best. Greetings Carla from Amsterdam the Netherlands
Love it. Made one like this about 7 or so years ago I think. A trip to Vietnam and I saw something like this and immediately cut into a $5 scarf and I’ve made so many of them since, all weights and fabrics 🥰 but took up knitting in the pandemic so now might have to knit one too 🤔🥰
Completely obsessed oh my God. Could you please tell us the dimensions of the scarf you used so we can ensure to get a large enough scarf? I am loving this!! I love using scarves As cute bandeau tops shawls and little shrugs But I really want to try this because I love draping and belting And I always want to figure out what to do with all my brooches!!!
It really depends on uour size! I'm much bigger than Orly so this wouldn't look the same on me as it does hers! She's so tiny that anything looks fabulous on her! She could wear a sack and chuck a belt and a brooch on with it and look absolutely stunning!
Amazing!!!!!! Thank you again for a wonderful easy DIY!!! Who would of thought something so beautiful would happen with a huge scarf and two holes!! Love it!!! 💚💚💚💚
Wow, you made that into a scarf that just keeps giving. I really like this DIY, simple with a lot of bang. Thanks for sharing and blessing to you and all in the days to come
I fell in love with Christian Siriano when he was on Project Runway. This video brings 3 greats together! Him, you and Zendaya! He needs to see this video. I bet he'd love it. I have a big old scarf that I found at a thrift store this winter. We know what I'll be doing with it today!! Thank you for the fun hack and thanks for your positive energy!!
Great riff on Zendaya’s inspo look. Good idea to cut along the stitches instead of across them. With something that chunky, if you’d cut across them they would have unraveled. Maybe a quick staystitch around the holes to keep them from spreading and going wavy.
Just came across your video and what can I say but . . . WOW!! Seeing your excitement in each change of style, I see my daughter when she tries on dresses at a store. I will definately try this with our thin scarves which we have many. Thank you for sharing such a great fashion idea!
I just want a girls weekend with Orly and Carla Rockmore. I can just see the conversations they would have! This was such a fast fashion tip that just looks so cool! Love it!
Orly...I swear you continue to bring me life. I literally have sweaters that I always thought would look amazing as tops, and just when I decide to just do it I see this video. Are we on the same fashion wavelength? How do you know me so well? Lol. I can't wait to create this. You're simply amazing. Keep dropping valuable gems for us. Much love to you 🤗🥰🙌🏾🙏🏽💕💕💕💕
Woooow! I love this! I want to try it but not gonna lie- kinda scared. You make things look soo easy! You are soo good!!! Thanks for this idea!!! 🙌🏽🙌🏽💕💕
Orly I so miss you on Fridays! I must reprogram my mind to look out for your videos on Sunday! I’m always catching you late! You definitely nailed this DIY in seconds! Awesome job!
I am SO EXCITED to find you!!! Please keep the brilliance coming!!! You are amazing and you enthusiasm is contagious 😀. Isn't creating things the best! ❤️ I love that you stay on The "cutting edge" of fashion 😁 lol 🤗. 😂 The videos I'm watching are older I don't know if you're still making them I have to investigate your channel a bit but I had to stop right here and tell you what a fabulous job you're doing. 👍
Great ideas. Especially for Chicago girl who moved farther south and has little need for warm scarves. But a way to wear as coverup in air conditioning
This was top five of all the videos you have ever made!!! Fun, cheap, versatile, what else do you want?? I am thinking black satin…or gauze…or faux fur…or Sherpa…or flannel…or jersey…or linen…EEEEEK!
OMFG Orly, I was totally going to cancel my shopping therapy day tomorrow - and it’s almost winter here - but your enthusiasm has totally inspired me to seek out the very same heavy, beautifully made shawl, and emulate your divine self. 🙏🥂🍾
I’ve just discovered your videos! I have a couple of sleeveless blouses made out of mesh that I bought years ago. I absolutely love them and because mesh doesn’t ravel, they look like they would be super easy to make. Do you think you could do a video ?

haha exactly.
I love it when someone can demystify the simplicity of designer fashion!! It's like going behind The Wizard of Oz's curtain... THANKS AGAIN, Orly!!! 💜

Love your thoughts on the different variations on how to wear the scarf. Send Orly some pictures or ... demonstrations.

And bring us along♡♡♡
Thank you for sharing your inspiration, how to"s and your beautiful energy. 😍
its pretty close to both a Katniss from the second hunger games sweater thing and also a padme in AotC... and I LOVE THAT SO MUCH
It’s like the Bop-It version of scarves….
Pin-It, Brooch-It, Belt-It, Drape-It.. 💗
That could totally be a song by ‘Daft Punk!’ 😂🎶
😄😄😄
