- Join me, Orly Shani, as I show you how to create an instant brooch that can be added to ANYTHING, instantly and with no damage to your fabric.
WARNING: Please be sure that it is safe to use magnets on your own body, depending on your own health issues. Some devices, like a pace maker, would not be safe as the magnet could interfere. Always do your own research to make sure any thing is safe for you.

This is one of those too easy projects that I almost feel silly sharing. But the end result and the impact is so awesome that I think you will love having this in your back pocket.
Keep in mind that the appliqué itself can be entirely unique to you and your style. All you need is a flat surface on the back that you can glue your magnet on to..
Please be very careful with these magnets!! They are super strong so keep them out of the reach of kids.

I wrap the "back" magnet in a folded piece of grosgrain ribbon and leave a tail so I can more easily separate the pieces. (Cut the ribbon twice the diameter +1 inch of the magnet. Fold in half, slide in the "back" magnet, glue with a strong adhesive. That leaves 0.5 inch of ribbon beyond the edge of the magnet that makes grabbing and lifting it a little easier.)
Smart! ❤
I did this to put fur collars on different coats. I love to upcycle too.
yes! That's what I originally bought these for. I have that video on here from a few years ago!
This is great for temporary application of apparel decor, but for those with medical devices please remember to use caution!
And also if small children are around: they are super dangerous when swallowed. But I guess almost everyone knows this.
@mathi3933 No, not everyone knows, and they are indeed very dangerous. Thank you for spreading awareness!
omg yes, I certainly hope everyone knows THEIR OWN health issues and what to avoid personally.
What a brilliant, beautiful and creative idea! Thank you for sharing!
And don’t store them near external drives for computers. Magnets will erase them.
I don’t even like pink or bows and I was loving every single one! I have a magnet name badge like that I can concur 1000% it will hold. Here are my caveats. If you are flat chested make sure the element isn’t too heavy or it will pull down your shirt. The magnet slides on silky/slick fabrics if the element is too heavy. Be careful when it comes to your credit cards. If you are putting this on a pocket don’t put cards in that same pocket. Also if you have an ICD or pacemaker, ask your doctor if you can have a strong magnet near it.
Great caveats. Thanks for sharing your real world experience! These look so fun!
I use this type of magnets to hang my artworks in galleries. You are CORRECT! They are strong! I have a permanent bruise on one of my fingers from getting too close…ha! But my art stays in place :) Thanks for the idea Orly!
Orly, I have these magnets in a size that's more like a dime. They are just as strong.
Ok so next step, lets make the bows?! 😂🎉
I mean... yes!
The black hat with the pink bow is really sweet 🥰
Dont know if you realized this but its Breast Cancer awareness for Oct!
So it''s perfect to wear any kind of pink for breast cancer awareness
yes!! Gosh I didn't even think about that when I made this, but you ARE SO right
I loved your Barbie outfit! The jeans matched perfectly with the pink bows 🎀Genius.
Orly I think only you can think of this!! I love the bow ❤ on the sleeve TFS
!!!! PLEASE CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR IF YOU HAVE A PACEMAKER !!! These magnets may interfere with its operation.
YES!!! I was scrolling to see if anyone was gonna mention this!!! I have used magnets on boutonnières for years and I always ask beforehand.
YES everyone needs to be their own health advocates here. I certainly can't be aware of everyone's individual issues but be very aware and careful of your needs and concerns and only do ANY thing if it's safe for you.
@@OrlyShaniShow for sure. The whole magnet and pacemaker interaction is so obscure it wouldn’t trigger a warning for you to share. It is just a piece of info that most folks wouldn’t know to ask about. The Brooch hack is a great idea!!
Awesome trick! Two thumbs up! Now we need a tutorial on making the bows!
Yes!
Yessss, please! How do we make the bow? I love this idea! ❤💡
@@fabiolac6208a video would be great. It’s not hard to make a basic bow, however. You can buy them pre-made (like, at Joanne’s, for instance), or buy some wide ribbon to tie into a bow. You can start by tying in around a pencil. I find it helps to wrap the second loop around “backwards”, so the loops end up side to side instead of vertical. You can also find sewing patterns for making them out of fabric. There are undoubtedly TH-cam videos for making either of these already.
But Orly’s video is gonna be even better, because she’ll come up with some insanely creative way to do it that repurposes plastic bags into yarn to crochet into the bows before showing us how to tie them. 😂
@@DawnDavidsonThank you so much ❤
I’ve been doing this for years! Love it!
wow! soooooooooooooooooooo genius!!!!!!!!!!!!! you always amaze!! thank you for sharing all of your fantastic ideas!!!!!!
This morning was not going great for me. Then I watched your video and absorbed some of your bubbly energy. Thank you!
oh that makes me so happy. Thanks for sharing and I hope you're feeling better today.
I am not a bow fan but I am a Orly fan. Thanks for all the ideas! I will have to find something that fits my style. 😊
yes!! exactly, add these magnets to whatever IS your style. This is just about the inspo
These are so cute
Flowers would look cute also.
This is such an economical way of not having to sew items on to anything. Love all your suggestions. Thank you sooooo much for sharing this tip.❤❤❤❤❤❤
thank you!
Love this!!! Great for my winter boots. Can change it up
This is even better than those pins from a couple weeks ago! You can use these on leather and plastic like you showed, and you can’t do that with the pins. Between the two - pins and magnets - you’ve got soooooo many options! I’ll have to get some of those magnets to try them. Thanks, Orly!
Wow, endless possibilities!🎉
Totally going to do
What super cool ideas! Absolutely love this❤
Love my rocknot stuff! I got every color of the phone chain and every piece goes with everything! I traveled recently and I took them with and they weight nothing and they work for day and night and I switched up the colors and had matching jewelry for every outfit. Plus in the sun it was super sparkly!!
Thank you , Orly. Love your enthusiasm.
I think this would make securing my tartan sash easier without damaging the fabric. I have a kilt and sash in my family tartan, but pinning my kilt and sash over and over again puts holes in the fabric. I can create a brooch and kilt "pin" with magnetic backs. This makes me happy!
U r incredibly creative and fun to watch ❤ Really inspirational in a direct and indirect way 👌🏼
Thank you so much!
always clever!
Also...be very careful with strong magnets, because your body is electric. If you feel weird or woozy, remove them.
Oh dear...I was excited by the possibilities. Now I need to do some research. Thanks for the caveat.
so interesting. Never thought about this or noticed it on my end. But good to know!
Wow, very cool ideas 😍 I totally love it ❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you, Orly 😊
This was so fun!!
I need all of that! YES🎉
Love this 💖 Can you do a Metallic Wool Hat ?😊
I do this on my vintage hats. I take the pin backs off of vintage brooches and use magnets. Mix and match!
You’re right, down low the white bows looked like pasties on the dress. Such a cool hack!!! Thank you for sharing ❤️❤️❤️
for anyone with any metal within their bodies, do not use strong magnets! For example, this would affect my pacemaker severly and I would most likely have a heart attack. If you want, you can place it far away from your metal implant, just looking at the shoulders... that is not six inches away from my pacemaker, and being strong, i would ideally keep it a foot away,
Beautiful idea
Thank you. Great ideas 😊
I love this idea. I did it already for a clutch, which was a bit boring and didn't suit that much with my outfit. The bow made it match....and yes, be sure: it is worth called DIY-hack. Thanks.
so glad!!
brilliant!!!!!
Genius,Loving It!
🤩Congratulations, you have now received the Noble prize in DIY!
hahaha
I would recommend using a washer on the back of the item that you want the magnet to stick to that way you can customize the size of the washer to the item.
LOVED! Thank you beautiful Shani.👗🩱👏🏼🥰
You are so welcome!
Genius idea!!! As usual.
Very pretty 😀
Can you share the link to the magnets love this Thankyou
I love it
Ooh The possibilities ❤
So stinking cute. You always kill it Orly ♥️👏🏼
I love the intro 😂 “it’s like a uhhh.” See? I don’t know how to spell that either. But these ideas are so great!
hahah
🎉 literally my favorite person on TH-cam
Love the accessories 😍
And bc the magnets are so strong, bc careful up near your hair. It can easily catch your hair in between the mags.
Love this one ❤️ 💕
9:52 Did you mean to find the perfect Barbenheimer fit?
Hahaha. “She is become Life, the creator of worlds!” 😂😂😂
Hi Orly, please do a video on how to make the jeans you are wearing at the end of this video with the black tank (9:45 time stamp). It looks like you let out the seam, please provide details.
Where can you buy the magnets. I love the bows.
You can get smaller rare earth magnets
אני מאד אוהבת את הסרטים שלך
What’s the color and brand of your nail polish?
Thank you so much for your videos, I have tried some of the DIY ideas but I ALWAYS watch and share them. I LOVE your channel!
aw thank you for the support. Oh shoot, Ill have to look at the polish. It's Insta-Dry but dont know the name
Hermoso! Deberias poner subtitulos en español para los que no sabemos inglés...te agradecería
I wonder if you could share an idea of what kind of dress I could make using a metre and a half of chiffon?
I know you said it's not a DIY but, Girl, this is the PERFECT DIY!
hahah Im so glad. It almost seemed TOO easy lol
@@OrlyShaniShowthat’s what makes it a perfect DIY! 😂 Also, if it involves scissors and/or glue - especially E6000 - it’s automatically a DIY! 😂
Cool!
Could you do inspired pantalones de charros? I have black pants that I have and want to do something like that on them please shear your idea.
Super ideas but just need to be mindful of mobiles and credit cards ...magnets can wipe then😢
smart!
BRILLIANT!! 😁😍
Super awesome hack Orly! SO so cool that it's a tribute to the ever So popular Barbie movie but it is after all October (aka Breast Ca Awareness month). So digging the Pink! Love, love, love the simplicity! Thanks for alw being true to you and those who follow you...

Omg Orly this is gorgeous, I did u make the bow?
It would be fun to do a RockNot giveaway and it might be good for your algorithm!
Okay this was everything- you’re just so adorable orly!! I have a huge question I need your expertise lol - okay so:
I have a pink leather ( fake leather) jacket and I got hole in it - I’m so sad bc it’s like the perfect fit and all that. My friend suggested patches- which could be so cool bc it’s like a juxtaposition w the pink and everything. But, I can’t iron them on fake leather? Or can I? Also - what would you do ?
Genius! ❤
That dress is beautiful- you could use some chiffon underneath if you think it’s to much skin.
Omg so cool ❤I haven’t seen your videos for a while. So sorry
Epic Per Usche!!🙌🏼💕……..Link to Clear Shoes?….
Merhaba canım kolay gelsin eline emeğine sağlık çok
FYI Disney also sells these magnetic shoulder plush. Orly you are a genius as I ain't no big fan of using safety pins ❤
how fun!!!
Orly I learned so much from you every Sunday. Thanks for sharing your brilliant ideas 🥰
Im so happy to hear that! That's my goal!
❤
Did it hurt your foot?
I didn’t know you sell ur stuff. Omg
This seems like the type of idea that would be on shark tank and make $1 million.
How do you spell that? SNAP!
I doubt it's okay to wear such strong magnets on your body.
Only if you have a pace maker
@@claire-amel A human body has its own magnetic field. If you place a strong magnet in it, it will change. I know that magnets are used for fighting cancer, but a person should wear it only for a short period of time each day.
