... Last year we stayed a few nights in "Kalypso Resort" and we really loved & enjoyed it... A unique place & a very nice experience... Your beautiful video about it is covering the atmosphere very well... Regards from Chania... 🤗💞💪
From Rethemnos you should drive down to Agia Galini the "Santorini" of Crete! On your way there you will make a stop in Spili. There you should drink plenty of water from the lion fountains in the central square. The water is top quality, the municipality wanted to bottle it and sell it in the markets but this plan did not go ahead. It would be great if you could ask in one of the local coffee shops to make you a traditional cold sour cherry drink (made from the homemade sweet - not the ready made ones in the super markets) using Spili water. Agia Galini is super beautiful well worth your time and a video. Have fun!
Thank you very much for watching us and for taking the time to leave a comment 💙💙🙏🤗. We will definitely go there and make a video about it. Why is it called Santorini of Crete?
@@Sunpire The whole village is build in an amphitheatrical way on the hill that it kind of reminds you of Santorini.😀As long as you are on Crete and you have a genuine interest in the island and its culture, I will always watch you and help you in my way to achieve your goals. I live in the southern suburbs of Athens and although I have got a nice view of the saronic gulf, my true love is Crete, the land of my ancestors. My land!
@@Sunpire I agree. Spili ("cave") is an interesting village, although a bit "touristy". There is a huge (free) car park on the right after you enter the village. The entrance is not too obvious so drive slowly. The entrance ramps down quite steeply to the parking area. You can park there and walk the short distance to the centre where the water spouts are. Agia Galini isn't so easy for parking. It has a big car park but it's usually full in the tourist season. I usually have to turn around and find a space up the hill.
Thoroughly enjoyed this video. The Spot is Magnificent but you guys make it a lot more appealing through your running commentary. You bounce off each other extremely well and the subtle humour you inject is pleasing. This village overlooking the sea is definitely Paradise on Earth. A great Discovery!
Nice nice nice as always, thank you! Pirate is a Greek word and comes from the ancient verb "πειρώ / piro", which means "to try or strike", it is the thief of the sea, and figuratively, the one who professionally deals with something, without having a legal license for it.
Very Nice video! Scuba diver here ! Regarding your question of disinfection of diving suits and scuba gear they are rinsed in a special solution. But once scuba diving becomes your hobby owing a mask and a diving suit is natural and is a small investment. There is an old scuba diving saying : There are two kinds of scuba divers : a) those who pee inside the suit and b) those who lie about it ! 🤣 PS You gave me an idea for my next vacation !
This was my real concern 🤣🤣 or getting a skin disease 😅. Thank you for your comment🙏, I'm glad you enjoyed the video, and we inspired your vacation! Can you please recommend us some good snorkelling glasses? We always have issues with ours 😂
@@Sunpire You two are great ! I can recommend selecting snorkeling masks. The idea is to fit your face perfectly so there are no leaks. In order to check this you have to wear the mask WITHOUT using the strap and look down and inhale a bit. If the mask stays this means that it is a good fit. If you exhale from your nose the mask will fall down. Every new mask has to be ' prepared' before first use to prevent fogging (there many youtube videos about this)

Ομπροσγιαλοσ (Ombroyalos) bay near Kefalás. You descend a long hill on a good but narrow asphalt road from Paleiloni village. About 4km I think. At the bottom is a bay where the council plan to make a diving centre. You can swim and snorkel there in the clear water but use the ladder not the boat ramp, which is slippery. (My friend broke his arm there!) In summer there is a kiosk selling basic food and drinks until October. The parking area is very small. Because the bay is surrounded by hills, the sun disappears quite early. The expats who can't say "Ombroyalos" call it "Octopus Bay". The locals used to go fishing there with dynamite! (Not so much nowadays.) There used to be a taverna but it was closed as it was illegal - too close to the sea.
