    Hats off to Kanan for speaking his heart out against the wrongdoings at the workplace. We need more such guys to speak up to put a dent on the toxic culture prevailing at such workplaces. Thank you Kushal for these podcasts. You're doing really good work.

    I still remember that time during the COVID pandemic when I was in the second year of my articleship. I received a sudden call from home, my mom told me I needed to come back immediately because my father’s health is getting worse. I spoke to my manager for leave, but he didn’t allow it, rather he was trying to convince me that it might just be due to the pandemic and that similar situations were happening to others, no need to worry. I passed this message on to my family, but my older siblings insisted I understand the seriousness of the situation. I then consulted with my seniors in firm, and they advised me that if I continued asking for leave informally, I wouldn’t get it. They suggested me to send a mail directly to the partner and go home. I eventually went home, but by the time I arrived, my father had passed away early the next morning. I didn’t even get to see him one last time.

      First of all you are a brave guy that you wrote all of this in this comment. Wherever your father is, he is, was and will forever be proud of you. You have all his blessings on your side. Secondly this is how the dark tragedy of this world works but do not worry, this is the lesson and an exploration GOD gave you to be more powerful and brave. And lastly, I do know that you'll be the best father of your child and the best husband of your wife and that's what matters in the end ❤

    During a listed client, Being junior i was supposed to take food parcel for the entire team. No one accompanied me. It was summer months that's April end, I was feeling summer stroke badly. They were saying ki Pankaj apna time office general pr book karega where i was doing this thing without any will or enthusiasm.
    Further on initial client although my plotting was not on any client, on Saturday and Sunday i had arranged a trip with my friends for the first time in a remote area still I had carried my Laptop and its charger there.
    Friends were laughing but couldn't express them a reality. CA Ana's mistake was that she didn't quit and she was having faith on such dead minded people.

Well, I am currently in my articleship period and feel the same required change in the organisation especially when the managers are not treating you rightly. I really hope things change and time finally come when articles are respected and no more treated like " bonded labour " because it's the knowledge and urge to learn that matters the most at the end of the day. Looking forward for more relatable videos. Kudos to the hardwork you put in each and every video.

All the things you said that remind me my articleship experience. There is no solution of this. I disagree with your statement that a good CA is one who’s ready to work for 10-14 hours and survive on 4 hrs of sleep. That is still gulaami and could become a cause of serious illness in the long-term. Ye hardwork aur dedication koi yaad nahi rakhega agar tumhara dehaant ho gaya. Company wale ya friends 1 minute ka maun tak nahi rakhenge aur zindagi yu hi khatam ho jayegi. Health should be your top priority.

    Research Enron collapse. You will understand why audit firms are required to be objective. They should separate consultancy work from audit. Audits should be conducted by government bodies or independent companies with no MOTIVE to make profit. Any profit making venture should be done solely by a firm because it’s gives independent auditors to ensure that even consultancy work is done properly and professionally you’re liable to give proper advice and a way to prevent more tax evasion. When u don’t have a motive to make profit u can spend more time on audits and be thorough. You will end up employing more people giving reasonable salaries and also teach them skills to figure out how to detect fraudulent practices. Think outside the box. See how everything changes in the business world and how magically every accounting firm will work more efficiently now.

    • @User-mncbjlfjrebxkl
      @User-mncbjlfjrebxkl 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don't think audits should be given to governments or NPOs. That alone will drive away youth to other countries where their skills will be paid well. Also government officials usually have a very unprofessional and abusive attitude which will either lead to corruption or drive companies away. This is the norm for now. The firms should make changes that is for sure. But the profit motive should be there. If it weren't the US would have nationalised audit firms already. There are measures also today to remain objective.

    • @NavnieltaChand
      @NavnieltaChand 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@User-mncbjlfjrebxkl profit should be consultancy work but not audits. The purpose of an audit to ensure financial statement accuracy and transparency of the company or entity. In order to achieve this the body responsible for conducting this has to be independent and accountable. It can conducted by a commission like how u have SEC who checks on the stock market independently. There can be a body created solely for the purpose of audits and yes it requires professionalism and adherence to same standards for a CA but the funding is from the taxpayers. You will never be able to eliminate corporate fraud or reduce the income disparity if you don’t have enough resources invested in actually monitoring what is going on in the corporate world on wholistic level from employee well being to company performance to investor protection. Why do you think auditors eventually become CFOs of the same companies they once audited? Everyone knows everyone you will not have independence 😊

    • @User-mncbjlfjrebxkl
      @User-mncbjlfjrebxkl 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@NavnieltaChand While I get the point about audit independence, creating a government-funded body solely for audits is not a foolproof solution. In fact, turning audits into a non-profit venture could make them less efficient and less competitive. Auditors thrive on competition and innovation because of the profit motive, which helps attract top talent, create better audit processes, and invest in cutting-edge technologies that actually prevent fraud.
      Look at the SEC you mentioned-while it plays a regulatory role, it doesn’t conduct private audits because that would introduce unnecessary bureaucracy and slowdowns. Taxpayer-funded systems tend to lack the agility and accountability required for the fast-paced corporate world.
      The issue isn't profit-it’s about enforcing stricter regulations and increasing oversight. Auditors becoming CFOs later is not an indictment of the system but rather a sign of their expertise being valued. If they follow ethical standards and cooling-off periods, the process remains transparent. The key is maintaining stronger ethical guidelines, not eliminating profit from audits. Without the profit motive, you’d likely see a talent drain, with the best minds going elsewhere, leaving audits in the hands of mediocrity.
      Profits don’t automatically breed corruption, but poor regulation and lack of accountability do. Let’s fix that instead of assuming profit is the problem.

He made us to sit in his chamber all the time in the name of degree so that we are always available to his works and maintains a very toxic and pathetic environment there. He can't even handle his bag and bottle by his own and forced his students to handle all these along with all the office works and peon works too. And even after all these he doesn't even talk to his students with any respect. He very rudely talks to students in the most pathetic way possible ruining complete mindset. And even the department is completely hollow with no facilities provided to students not even a weighing scale provided to weigh the chemicals and all the chemicals provided were already expired in 2009. The original quotation of chemicals required for my thesis work was of 1.6 lakhs but they asked me to reduce the prices and I talked to other companies after that again and again they asked to lower more. Then advisor asked to make the bill below 20000. Even when the quotation came below that price they were not buying me chemicals and in the very end time of the degree they just provided me with a master mix costing 8000 only. We are mentally harassed very badly. After all this when all three students under him took to registrar for his complaint, he started exploitation even more and not even sending panels for the viva. Other department students and even a girl of my batch under other advisor completed their course and viva in july and gone to other places for further studies but here now even october is going to be completed and he haven't sent panel of the viva and we are left alone and direction less. And all this I had to suffer was being a MSc student not even Phd. And all this is from a state university. This is the situation of research in India.He made his students life worse.

    I don't know if its practically possible but if possible icai should introduce a system of indirect articleship where firms outsource the work to icai and icai delegates it to students, in this way firm would hold no power over student and icai can also supervise the students, it will also reduce the instances of dummy articleship.

      Be a man lol. There are enough hot and frustrated girls in these firms. Just be their go to guy and enjoy life. I did this to survive for the first few months before a few of them started to catch feelings. I left and now I am working in Chennai in a manufacturing firm as internal auditor.
