    I enjoyed the added pictures with player types. Although you many times describe the player type, the pictures were a nice addition and reminder of who you are dealing with. Thank you for another great blog.

      Thanks, but after some thought I decided it’s not the greatest of ideas. Some might be offended or play differently by knowing my perceived opinion on their style. So consider everyone as unknowns unless specified from now on.

    9:37 I like your play here on flop (A9d). Raise with all those outs makes only sense. Laggy does not have much, neither the flatter. So, get them now while they're little. And huge draw would do its work, once in a while.

    Good vlog, another nice session. On the first hand I think you are missing a bet on the river. You are likely getting called by a Q

      If he had a queen, I think he was betting. But firing river is fine, hard to put me on a hand. May get called light.

    I see some improvements in the video editing this week. The higher resolution pics, the bink screen cap, slow walking the action to better align with the commentary, and sound effects. It's all pretty slick! I always enjoy the vlogs, but I hope you know some of us appreciate the component efforts that make the vlog.

      Normally I would do exactly that, out of the corner of my eye I picked up that he liked the turn. Thought he made a straight or 2 pair. Either way, I expected him to bet river.

    Wondering if you ever consider implementing the over bet? It seems that there are various spots in most of your vlogs where it could be a profitable option. Thanks.

    • @dougmccuskerpoker

      I do use it occasionally, playing against stronger opponents with a polar range.

  • @bbuzek1

    My experience in 20 years of playing is that it becomes more distracting than anything else.
    Thers plenty to do just tracking the betting and position and following thru with your line regardless of you holding.
    It always, no matter what comes down to the question 'does he have it?"

    • @dougmccuskerpoker
      @dougmccuskerpoker  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There are several theories of betting. I believe blind aggression works well in many circumstances, but when it doesn’t it is very costly. I try to pick my spots and be selectively aggressive. I’ve had fairly good success at lower limit games. Only time will tell if it works in larger games.

    77: I think I would have x-raised instead of betting out on a 653 flop. After making that assertion, I checked solver. It checks this hand 93% (check-calls 73% and check-raises 27%) and entire range 96% vs a loose calling range. The loose LJ can have all the sets; I am not sure you can from UTG. Loose villain might even have 74s or 42s. Assuming a range wide enough to have the straights, and updating solver to reflect that assumption, interestingly, the solver checks an even higher percentage of hands (this hand: 99%, range: 98%), but check-raises this hand slightly more (30%).

    • @dougmccuskerpoker

      Interesting, I would think giving a free card with a small over pair would not be a good idea against 2 opponents.

    When calling the lag all in with KK, you’re actually behind in equity 45-55. I realize you were going on a read, but that was a lot of chips to avoid so many outs on turn and river. I’m folding KK in that spot but just one omc’s opinion.

    • @dougmccuskerpoker
      @dougmccuskerpoker  ปีที่แล้ว

      Without the read I have to fold. Most of his jams are beating me or have tons of equity. He flopped the biggest draw possible and we were flipping. He would do the same with a lesser draw to. That’s why lags are so tough to play against.

    • @greglist2991
      @greglist2991 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@dougmccuskerpokerfunny, love playing vs LAGs, easiest for me to take chips from. I find that you have to adjust your style. ie you’re more of TAG/shark, likewise for me too. But going vs LAGs, I adjust to loose passive and range is wider. Let him lead the way while I set the trap. On KK vs J8 ♣️, would’ve been easy fold for me. He could’ve had easily A-rag in that spot. Find a better spot, if board didn’t have over card, I’m fine w calling w over pair vs straight/flush draws. Have LAG at home game, I’ve stacked him so many times now I’ve converted to him to OMC 😂 he does from time to time revert back to LAG but I can sense when. BTW 77 hand, that’s either check-raise/fold for me, calling wouldn’t have been option.

    Poker god 1- let’s give Doug an overpair vs a lags top pair so he can earn bank
    Poker god 2- let’s do it. Oh shit he misplayed it perhaps and didn’t raise? Hmmm f it let’s just give him set over set on a non-flush or straight board.
    Poker god 1- done.
