Adjusting Transmission Brake - IH 1086

Hope this is useful information for those having trouble with shifting on your 66 or 86 series. We've also recently had trouble shifting into reverse and after oiling up the shift linkage it helped dramatically.

sloppy fitting pins are always going to affect the adjustment. nice find and good fix.

you need to put Otto Wetz update on that transmission brake. He is from Toccoma Nebraska he uses a spring so you can put more tension on the brake

The brake lever and rod mostly need more range of motion.

Did you get the grinding to stop? I'm having the same problem and I'm thinking it's the clutch booster since it's leaking.

In semi tractor you have a clutch brake also ,so when you adjust the main clutch it's good to check brake also 👍 . Not to change the subject , they advertise flashlights and lanterns on TV that the military is supposed to use, may lighten up your videos better 🎆 now you can rock and roll 🚜

It's none too bright in that barn, currently, it needs triplex re strung to it. Lightning struck its wire. Then, we may have netter lighting, not to mention, most things get fixed on dreary days.
