id love if you did an episode just all on 'consciousness', its such a strange thing that i cant fully grasp. why do we humans specifically have it? where did it come from? what thoughts do species that dont have a conscious have and how do they work? what even IS it?
This podcast makes me so happyyy I feel like it’s partly so good because you see them becoming better friends and how their humors are like similar and different at the same time love thisssss I kind of want to subscribe to the patron tbh x
21:43 - if he refuses to give her belongings back technically it’s knowingly and *purposefully depriving a person of their property and thus, it’s defined as theft. She can phone the police and arrange to meet them for a handover of her belongings or arrange for them to retrieve it if she doesn’t know where he lives.
That aging topic was intriguing.. I'm in my mid 30s now + I literally stopped aging in like 2009, so I look about 25 - It's so bizarre. I'm not sure why... something to do with genes or how I'm living life in the 2010s/2020s, I was growing up in the age of diesel being used in cars than petrol, no social media (We had MySpace + MSN.. but that's it lol), so it might the atmosphere or influencers helping me age less, or the food I'm eating + certain foods/drinks are more trendier. Intriguing topic !
SNAP! Exactly the same!..33 years old, born 1990, stopped ageing in 2009! Apparently millennials are ageing better than other generations and no one knows why…
I absolutely love that someone else wiggles their toes for comfort without noticing, and sits cross legged, even tho it gives me fucked knees and ankles 😂😂
It is so crazy that I have been so drawn to ur content (arthur) and then I come on here and i swear u have so many of the exact beliefs I have. I've watched every episode today and in every episode you've touched on something that I have never heard anyone else believe. Then u tell me there's actually theories and studies on this shit I just came up with too. Maybe I am an alien. Damn I'd love to sit and have a convo w u guys. Everyone thinks I'm insane
Fan from Australia here. We're born with the ability to correct images/videos that are upside down. It's an automatic part of our brain, sadly it only works when your horny however...
I've worked in care homes and such - I think what it is, is that when you hit your 80/90s, you become weary and tired and - for lack of a better way of putting it - want to die. A lot of elderly folk have said this to me, they are 'ready to go' or 'had enough' And yes, it could be because they are aged, sore, and lack mobility. But I do believe that we get to the point as humans, where we mentally check out too, and I think this is important. I don't believe in a 'meaning' to life, but I do believe that it would feel less 'meaningful' if we lived forever. Death is part of life.
The Uni question - I think…degrees are a long term investment (think of it like buying a house) and if you’re not sure about what you want to do then don’t go (yet). Typically your passion will lie in studying something that you would want to learn everything about without considering how much money you’ll make.
@@rosiedollfacenever even thought about adding lemonade with the cranberry, genius! The cranberry is nice as a wee change, cause after a couple of southern comforts and lemonade my teeth end up feeling fuzzy 🙃
Looking at the new generation too + seeing them more fashion savvy or more intellectual than I was back in 2004 is mad. How social media or trendy food diets etc have become so popular that todays generation are healthier + more knowledgeable of things. We didn't know about dirty lyrics in songs or TV shows until we got older (no internet/socials), but kids today do (I'm assuming lol). But then I feel we millennials have more experience in life, knowing how life was when we didn't have social media until like 2007/8, influencers were surfacing in 2010.. so intriguing now haha.

speaking of Australia, have you guys heard of the conspiracy theory that Australia doesn't exist? Well, Australia, as a country itself, exists. But the continent doesn’t. More precisely, where it is located and what it looks like is a lie. Australia has the longest fences in the world. And no one can cross them. The fences are two meters high, guarded by armed patrols and costs $6 billion a year to maintain. But why? From rabbits (and dingo dogs). In Australia they say that fences were built to keep rabbits out, that interfere with farming. There just became a lot of them, because one day they brought in 24 rabbits and released them. And they multiplied so much that it was impossible to fight them. So people began to think, are the security patrols (if you get caught crossing the fence, you’ll have pay a fine, and even possibly face a prison sentence) all this from rabbits and dingo dogs? If we take all the fences and put them together, we see that they enclose most of the landmass of Australia. And not a single person will be able to cross Australia like in half. So What if this was done so that people did not know that in fact this is not the continent of Australia, but what if there is another country behind the fence? One Russian, who has been living in Australia for eight years, met with a local aboriginal. And this aborigine told him that long ago, when tribes lived here and there were no fences, if you walked very long to the south, you could stumble upon an ice wall. Tribal leaders were buried there. That is, there is a theory that Australia is some part of Antarctica, a continuation of it. And that's not all, there is also a map from the 1500s that calls Antarctica “Terra Australis”. But why hide it? So, Australia was a colony of England. Where from 1788 to 1868 they took convicts and hostages to hard labor. So, people think that they actually were not taken anywhere. They just drowned them and pretended that they were going to Australia, to a country that does not exist. Meaning, Australia is a cover-up for the worst mass murder in history. That's almost a million people. But then, so that people wouldn’t ask questions about where Australia is, they made Australia out of a piece of land from Antarctica. Well, I think, this is an interesting theory. BUT these fences are in fact made to keep rabbits and dingoes away. Also, it’s because if a person climbs over the fence and dies there, it will be a problem for the government, which is why they guard it so heavily. And the aborigine who told about the ice walls also said that ‘white gods came out of these ice walls and brought them seeds of all kinds of plants, and in return they were given live animals, which were taken away in glass balls by the said gods.’ So there you go. Sorry, for a long ass comment, I just like yapping 😂

bach and arthur are my fav youtubers but obviously i dont agree with the same stuff. it is a bit weird to think we are never gonna die because we are going to die. every living thing will eventually die. if there was no death is there even life to begin with? & the only reason we value life is because its going to end. there would be no reason to live if it just continued. life would also just become so torturous if we kept living forever. this also applies to afterlifes like heaven or hell because if your conciousness just kept living, you’re eventually going to want it to end. and youd also probably go insane. idk why anyone would want to be immortal its basivally a curse. i mean i could get behind wanting to live 200 years or something but yea. we obviously fear death and most, nearly all fears stem from the fear of death. and we try to avoid death but its just inevitable. we living things are going to die. remember you must die, momento mori. and thats not a bad thing its just apart of life. death is just apart of life without death there is no life. but also the thing bach said about dna is a cool thought but arthur is right, if “aliens” brought u back it just would be YOU. its a clone of you its not you. if you brought 10 year old me back, thats not me thats a clone of my younger self. and even if it wasnt a clone and somehow got 10 year old me and me now in the same room, that is not me. i am not the same conciousness as i was. thats basically a different person. every thing thought u have, action u make, piece of knowledge you take in, experience you go through, or new cell created in ur body changes ur brain, so my conciousness is not the same as it was 10 minutes ago. ur brain & body is constantly changing. idk those are just my thoughts
