    Good Morning Rossy from Vancouver Island 🇨🇦 Oh my goodness I am SO EXCITED about this channel & this recipe!! Thank you so VERY much for sharing your PHENOMENAL talent & skills with us. What you create leaves me mind blown & gobsmacked. I scoured the comments until I found the responses to the glue & fabric softener you use(Gorilla & Downy) so this afternoon I’m going out to buy glycerin & sodium benzoate so I can make this recipe tomorrow. I’ve had to “find a new life” with a recently suffered brain injury and I’m going back to crafting YOU are a massive help & inspiration ❤❤ HUGE hugs from a new fan ❤️❤️

      Thanks to you Honey, you are very kind, I am very happy that you like my work, it means a lot to me, yes, of course, you can cook the cold porcelain in the microwave, mix all the ingredients well, then place it for 2 minutes in the micro, you stir well and put the mixture back for another 2 minutes at medium temperature, take it out and mix it again completely and then put it back in the micro for 1 minute each time, until it changes a little color from white to beige and you achieve the desired consistency, it takes more time, but it's possible to do it that way too, thanks for supporting my classes and channel in english, your support helps me a lot to be able to continue sharing what I do with so much love, you know, I'm always willing to support you in this beautiful art, strong and affectionate hug. 🤗❤️😍💕😘❣️

      Hi Julia, thank you very much for subscribing to my channel and supporting my classes, your support helps me a lot to be able to continue sharing what I do with love, the fabric softener I use is Downy, but you can use any brand, it doesn't change the result. Porcelain can last from 6 months to a year, stored in a plastic bag and in a completely hermetic container, yes, it must be in its natural state, without paint, a Painted time lasts less (from 1 to 3 months) depends a lot on the type of paint or pigment with which it is dyed.
      I once kept a measure for a year for moving reasons and it was completely fine when I used it again, but I do not recommend keeping it for that long, you know, I am always ready to help you in this beautiful art, strong and loving hug. 🤗❤️🥰💕😘❣️

    Why is mine cracking, I use Elmer glue (since it's the only white glue I can find), and vinegar instead of sodium benzoate. Is this why it cracks. When I made it, it was nice and smooth, pulled really nice.

    • @RossyRivera
      @RossyRivera  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Suzanne, cold porcelain often cracks because it lacked firing or was kneaded less, we have to knead it enough to remove all the air bubbles that remain inside, if it still has no color you can fire it again a little bit flattening it and placing it again Cook on both sides in the Teflon pan, taking care not to burn it and knead again while it is still a bit warm. I hope your problem is resolved, I'll be watching, you know, I'm always ready to help you with this beautiful art, best regards. 🤗❤️🥰💕😘❣️

    • @RossyRivera
      @RossyRivera  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Suzanne, I really don't understand what can happen with your cold porcelain, as I told you before it can only be a cooking or kneading problem, because I use Elmers glue and it works very well for me, just like when I don't have benzoate I use apple cider vinegar or lemon juice and it works very well for me. It's just as manageable.

    • @RossyRivera
      @RossyRivera  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Elizabeth, yes, PVA glue is appropriate because it is non-toxic, which makes it ideal for the Cold Porcelain recipe, without the need for specific care to protect your health, I always use a mask when I fire my porcelain.
      It does not burn or explode, so it is quite safe.

    My first attempt tonight was a total nightmare. Everything went well to begin with. The trouble started when it came away from the sides of the pan perfectly but when i went to knead it, it stuck to the table, and to my hands, and to the spatula that i tried to scrape it off the table with. I came to the conclusion that the centre of the ball was not cooked well enough. There was no going back to the pan because there was only a small ball left.
    I decided to microwave it and did this in 10 second bursts until it resembled a small loaf of bread. It is no longer sticky. I have it resting now until tomorrow evening. Lets see what happens then. By the way i followed the recipe exactly, even to the point of waiting for the sodiun benzoate to arrive from Amazon.😅

      Hi Eva, my cold porcelain recipe is very consistent when finished cooking it and for the pieces to remain completely flat, they must be left to dry on a sponge placed in a ring with metal mesh so that it can be ventilated both from below and from above, so that the piece lies flat, best regards.
