    Eventually you have convert estimates in hour since iteration/ cadence/ sprint has timebound structure so any underlying activity should have time estimates that they rollup to *period*. The real question is how is complexity interpreted by different dev and managed and hence absolute estimation wins every time

    how do you report sprint wise velocity when teams estimate stories in terms of size ?

    • @agilecoach
      @agilecoach  ปีที่แล้ว

      Assign a numerical value to each size. Example: S=1, M=3, L=5, XL=8

    Thanks for the video, makes a lot of sense. Can you explain in more detail how you would use product backlog items for estimates instead of t-shirt sized or SP?
    Tasks range very much between level of complexity so I understand the points of SP and T-shirt sizes. Are we assuming that we would break the backlog items down into smaller tasks to match the level of average task complexity?

    • @agilecoach
      @agilecoach  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching. Can you rephrase your question, I didn't quite get it. 'how you would use product backlog items for estimates instead of t-shirt sized or SP?' T-shirt size, story points etc are units of measure, product backlog items are not..

    Question: Are we supposed to estimate sub tasks, tech debt, and support tickets?

    • @agilecoach
      @agilecoach  ปีที่แล้ว

      You should estimate all the work required in the sprint to build the potentially shippable increment

  • @anonymous6924
    @anonymous6924 ปีที่แล้ว

    So, even after splitting the user stories during the refinement session, if required the same can be split again in sprint planning?

    • @agilecoach
      @agilecoach  ปีที่แล้ว

      If the teams feels that it's necessary then yes. The user stories need to meet the definition of ready

  • @anonymous6924

    I'm trying to understand here... Priorities are finalized based on voting?(like people raise their hands or something like that/ any tool is used here) What's the tool used for prioritisation?

    • @agilecoach
      @agilecoach  ปีที่แล้ว

      The priority is defined by the product owner. They can use something like RICE scoring model or MoSCoW prioritization method

    Hi, you said Estimates are added during the sprint planning session and "sometimes" during the refinement sessions.. my question is, refinement session is for adding details and estimates right? Then why "sometimes".. isn't it supposed to be estimated during the PBR?

    • @agilecoach
      @agilecoach  ปีที่แล้ว

      The goal is to get the prioritized user stories 'ready' prior to the sprint planning but this is not always possible

    T-shirt sizes are unpractical for estimation purposes. It is subjective based on each dev skills.
