I watch many automobile reviews on TH-cam. I'm an avid vehicle enthusiast. I can honestly say your reviews are the best on TH-cam. You are captivating, your rate of speech and overall voice are ideal and you review everything that is important without too much fluff that other reviewers include in their reviews. Please keep up the outstanding work. I really enjoy your reviews!
I LOVE THIS TRUCK! we have the ESV version! its a BEAST! Best SUV I HAVE OWN so far! I love the towing capacity on this TRUCK, You feel like your driving a LUX Pickup
A great adjustable digital dash, i melt. My future vision is first astablished by Cadillac. I don't want Lexus and Mercedes anymore, American Cadillac is the style i like.
The Escalade has been the "King of SUV bling" for 20 years now. All the million dollar actors and athletes have Escalades, The number one vehicles of the celebrity red carpet every year.
These car reviews are really celar and concise. Not too compicated but you give a real feel for the car without using weird angles. You actually show the car for what it is. Mad respect bro!
Ritt Momney I thought that was the Chrysler 300C. I'm thinking it's midlevel. Above this are Bentleys and Rolls Royces, though they aren't making SUVs yet (Bentley will soon, though).
QuickQuips midlevel's are the audi's bmw's, lexus, and infinities.....Caddies and Lincolns are definitely the entry level stuff, may change but before it does they really gotta put quality into there vehicles or there's no chance.
I Love your reviews! I have been watching them for a few days now and the most interesting part about your reviews is that I have no questions in the end. You explain almost everything. Great work!
Ha, I love this car. When the new one came out, my wife bought a Platinum 4WD immediately so she got a 6 speed automatic version. I got one too later on so I got a Platinum 4x4 with an 8 speed automatic.
This is the car that combines and represents almost everything car-related thing that I hate as a car enthusiast. But I simply cannot hate it, at all. It has a distinct, honest character, unlike so many hyper-compromised, try-to-fit-all modern cars that aim to sell in the millions. I would definitely never buy one, but I just can't hate it.
I will stick with my 2010 Platinum I bought with 47k miles for 38k a year and a half ago..100k..crazy..And this one looks like all the new Escalades..Nothing to set it apart...
Evarn evon I can't look at this without comparing it to a Range Rover. They are basically the same price but the range rover is just better in any way.
It's been a while that you reviewed this car, but it may be worth mentioning that the car had a wireless charging dock for compatible phones/electronics and has an automated self-ejecting glove box button.
8L90 transmission is new for this model year and up, I would probably stay away for a bit lol. We already got several service bulletins on current issues with them for 2015.
Here the prices can go up to 170 000€ ( 176 000 dollars ) .....plus you need a different driver licence. For example i have B-licence so i can drive car which weights less than 7 700lb. Over that you need C-class, which of course costs again somewhere around 1300€ ( 1350 dollars ) . So yeah, neven gonna be able to get one. If i wanna change the Escalade in a way that i can drive it with B-licence i have to inspection, and it's gonna cost somewhere around 50 000€ extra....
Not my style of car by a long shot, but it's EASY to see why somebody would buy this if they could fork over the cash. 21 isn't just OK, 21 is actually pretty awesome. Many mid and full sized sedans with V6's city driving get like 20-22, so even if that thing is pulling in 16 or something, it's not bad considering that it weighs 3 tons and has lots of power.
Nice review! Another way of opening the rear hatch is 'hands-free'. With keys in pocket, you wave your foot under the rear bumper, by the tow hitch, and you can open and close the (aluminum) rear hatch. Hood is aluminum, too. Should have covered Autotrac. In 'Auto' mode, you have a 2WD vehicle, but when a difference in wheel speed is detected between the front and rear axles, the transfer case is automatically switched on, engaging the front axle, until slippage is no longer detected.
To those who may not get the point if this car. I think the point is to be different. I would never take this off road like any other high end lux vehicle. But it is still cool to have such a commanding vehicle.
I did in fact skim through it. You are correct. Mostly because im not intrested in this truck and also because I know the flavour of these reviews. The main content of the channel is exemplary. I have shared, liked, commented to that frequently. I recomend this chanel to every new member of my car club regardless if they are a noob, or experienced with cars. So now that you know im a fan... I am concerned that these reviews will pull people away from the channel. On the surface many people view look at them as a sellout, in that once the channel got popular some of the manufactures provide incentives for their products to be reviewed. Its a real problem on you tube. If that is correct, then yes a sellout. Alternative could be that you have run out of video ideas and use these reviews as fillers. If thats the case don't. Let your body of work stand on its own and put out less frequent EE videos. If you just want to take your channel in a fresh direction, why not set up a sister channel for reviews?
Andy Negenman I post an explanation video every Wednesday. The past two Friday's I've shared an additional video relating to LMP1 and the engineering behind it, and I'll have another this Friday. I've been posting car reviews since September (over 8 months now). I truly appreciate your subscription, views, and for sharing my content. If you're not interested in videos like the car reviews, the great news is there will always be at least one explanation video a week (which I've consistently done since this channel started). Regarding car reviews, there are a lot of reasons why I do them. First of all, I certainly enjoy it. It's fun to test out different vehicles and you can learn a lot from it. For example, I never would have known CVTs are much better suited for paddle shifters than traditional automatic gearboxes had I not had these cars in for review. I think there's a lot of value in having experience with vehicles on the market in order to understand the technologies out there which I'm attempting to explain on my channel. I have a video on cylinder deactivation, but I've never driven a vehicle with it. This time I had, and it was cool to see how often it would switch between V8 and V4; it was seamless, not a harsh transition. There's a lot I learn from these reviews, and in addition it can help those who want a more technical explanation of the car than you'd probably get at a dealership. I also include links to explanations of the technologies used, if there's something specific, in the video descriptions (see this one). Edit: Let me also add that I do not get paid for these reviews. There's no reason for me to be dishonest. If I get banned from reviewing a certain brand due to publishing a review they were not fond of, so be it (though I doubt this will happen). There are other companies which admire the honesty. My 2 cents; again, if you don't like the car reviews, there is always another video each week. Thanks for watching!
EE, good response which makes much more sense. Thanks for the reply. And I would like to retract my earlier statment. Id still like to see a seperate channel for reviews but its your channel. I would maybe suggest that you note that you are not getting paid for the review in the video as I am not the only viewer that drew the review for profit assumption.
Mortalomena 99% of the people who buy these things are 50 year old florida men compensating for their incoming erectile dysfunction, if they wanted sportiness for 95 grand they would not buy an escalade, people buy an escalade for anything BUT sportiness. :D
My wife is considering buying one of these (used). This was by far the best review I've seen of this vehicle, and I've watched a lot of them. Thank you!! How has your experience been over the years?
Not to be rude or anything, but you can instantly recognise american car by just seeing six (!) cup holders in saloon and more electric seat adjustment motors than industrial welder robot has. :)
marek9116 Perhaps me just being ridiculous with my foot. I didn't notice any unsmoothness to it, though the effort for both pedals is fairly high, probably the highest of anything I've tested. Might be slightly fatiguing if you don't use cruise.
Engineering Explained I know what you mean. The pedal effort in my previous C230 Kompressor was high too. The thing I was talking about is seen mostly at 15:15. Anyways, keep uploading these videos, always a nice watch along with Jay Leno Garage.
Could you do a video on slipper clutches (as used in motorcycles) or the difference between awd and 4wd (if there is some)? Thx and keep up the good work!
Like always great videos but todays review is Cadillac than nothing can get better cos Its Cadillac. Question Engineering Explained :- Is it true Cadillac cars in general needs alot of servicing and maintenance compare to other manufacturers ? Also is there any reason that you know of why Cadillac not coming to Australia because Jeep, Chrysler & Dodge are here and finally Ford Mustang going to land end of 2015 ??? Thanks Engineering Explained
The antifatigue function does not keep you awake nor is it designed to. Anti-fatigue massage functions are for seating comfort on long drives, where the seat keeps tilting the seatingsurfaces every few minutes so as to avoid sittingpains.
I don't know if it sounds crazy or not but that Cadi has turned out to be my dream car...👌🏼👍🏼

Your vehicle reviews are simply the best ones you really touch every single aspect that needs to be known. Thank you!
About to watch this even though I have zero interest in this car xD
***** It definitely has some interesting features which haven't been in some of the other vehicles I've reviewed.
Engineering Explained I assume you are talking about the glove-box button.
Mr Wp Magnetic suspension, massage chairs, cooler, cylinder-deac, HUD, lots of stuff.
Engineering Explained
Was just kidding. (unsuccessfully though). I watched the complete video, I like your stuff.
Mr Wp Haha, sometimes sarcasm is lost on me, and mine lost on others. Glove box is definitely the reason to buy this vehicle.
I literally laughed out loud when you said, "oh yeah, I have a V8".
These car reviews are really celar and concise. Not too compicated but you give a real feel for the car without using weird angles. You actually show the car for what it is. Mad respect bro!
I love how you combine the tech of the car in a way that seperates you from other reviewers.
Lmao I died at the instantaneous fuel economy v8 display comment
:( oh yeah... I have a V8
xD too funny
Ricardo Rivero Hilarious
It may show you when you're on 4 cylinders or 8 since it has cylinder deactivation...
ciriusblackinfernal I didn't know cars could do that until this video. Is that relatively new or has it always been a feature?
I think for gm vehicles it's kinda new the trucks come with it too.
This fuel economy is actually good compared to Mercedes-Benz V8s.
A gangsta's entry level car
Lol he better be ballin first to afford a $95,000 car!
Ritt Momney I thought that was the Chrysler 300C.
I'm thinking it's midlevel. Above this are Bentleys and Rolls Royces, though they aren't making SUVs yet (Bentley will soon, though).
lol the chrysler 3hunna, that's b4 becoming a real gangsta doe
that's an aspiring gangsta - an entry level gangsta
QuickQuips midlevel's are the audi's bmw's, lexus, and infinities.....Caddies and Lincolns are definitely the entry level stuff, may change but before it does they really gotta put quality into there vehicles or there's no chance.
Tronald Dump nooo. so all the people I seen driving this car are white males, and I seen over 10 of them in Cleveland alone, so their gangsta's?
I kept thinking the scenery reminded me of Oregon, then I saw the highway signs and I actually live relatively close to that area. Observations FTW!
I Love your reviews! I have been watching them for a few days now and the most interesting part about your reviews is that I have no questions in the end. You explain almost everything. Great work!
anupam kakkar Happy to hear it, thanks!
Good to see that you're getting nicer cars :)
sphericalsphere I've got some really fun ones coming up!
Engineering Explained I cant wait! Your videos are great!
Engineering Explained So when do you get to drive a Koeingsegg?
you can start a youtube channel on just the interior of this car and never run out of topics
the most informative car reviewer! subbed!
Truly an excellent review, thank you very much for the effort.
Ha, I love this car. When the new one came out, my wife bought a Platinum 4WD immediately so she got a 6 speed automatic version. I got one too later on so I got a Platinum 4x4 with an 8 speed automatic.
A Kid From Africa's Little Brother Maybe.
Lol

Escalade is iconic. It’s a big ostentatious boat on wheels that gets bad mpg. It never lied to you about what it was.
Great Review, but you missed the secret compartment right above the DVD slot.
Wow you're even review and Cadillac now I'm glad your channel is growing keep up the great work I love your reviews :-)
Thank You, very informational, and fun!
Excellent review. Just watched two Escalade reviews prior and they never mentioned about three quarters of what you did.
I will stick with my 2010 Platinum I bought with 47k miles for 38k a year and a half ago..100k..crazy..And this one looks like all the new Escalades..Nothing to set it apart...
Now thats an SUV
Every rich white soccer mom and black male's dream car.
I'm black and I hate Cadillacs. I'd look at more refined German and British luxury sedans and coupes in that price range.
Evarn evon no just a joke
Evarn evon trying too hard
Evarn evon I can't look at this without comparing it to a Range Rover. They are basically the same price but the range rover is just better in any way.
jdizzzo7 Trying too hard to do what?
I absolutely LOVE mine, highly recommended SUV
Cadillac style. I like the style of the vehicle. Perhaps they will use a lighter frame like the Cadillac sedan. Ultra lux SUV.
Wow 0-60 was pretty quick
Subscribed! Great review.... Especially opening the hood and under the body. The birds eye view of the interior is brilliant!
Could you do a video explaining CAN BUS communications?
I love it! Thanks for sharing. 5 Stars.
It's been a while that you reviewed this car, but it may be worth mentioning that the car had a wireless charging dock for compatible phones/electronics and has an automated self-ejecting glove box button.
I had previous gen for 5 years and loved it a-lot,,,this new look is so much cooler,,,getting one this week😎
Are you happy with it?
Good Lord, that car is enormous!
The quality of some of the materials... The whole thing wiggled when touching one of the buttons... Caddy's are getting better but still a ways to go.
I can't see paying 100k for an escalade, or any GM vehicle really. Great review as always though Jason, very informative.
Your voice and your accent are excellent, English is not my mother tongue and could easily understand you, I liked it.
this guy is amazing i subscribe
8L90 transmission is new for this model year and up, I would probably stay away for a bit lol. We already got several service bulletins on current issues with them for 2015.
Waiting for the V-Sport and/or V version! cannot wait to drive a 700 hp under the hood!
I can’t believe you actually predicted the future! 🫨
love this family car!
I freaking love that behemoth! Great video, Jason!
get a massage on your way to a massage - classic
Freaking incredible review. Wow very informative
I got to drive a Platinum Escalade and wow it was nice
Soooo basically a James Bond car for Mom.
"A button for the glove box, because of course that's necessary." lol
I love the interior of the 2015-2020 Platinums. Actually, I think I prefer it over the interior or the new Escalade.
That big box costs almost as much as my house! But, its actually nicer than my house....
Here the prices can go up to 170 000€ ( 176 000 dollars ) .....plus you need a different driver licence. For example i have B-licence so i can drive car which weights less than 7 700lb. In my neighborhood
Middle class people drive German
Rich people drive cadillac
Not my style of car by a long shot, but it's EASY to see why somebody would buy this if they could fork over the cash.

Would have been nice if you tested the audio system since you mentioned it like three times
Love the videos ! You should test out the Toyota 2015 Highlander !
if you want fantastic sound system, you need to get in to one of Infinti's premium sound packages.
Thought the scenery looked familiar, good 'ol Pacific Northwest.
I'm going to stay alert when driving around these on the road knowing that the driver inside is being pampered with a massage.

The sport mode for this car is just soooooooooo comically unecessery in this car :D
Jason W. Morningwood Its 6 seconds to 60. Why not back that up with stiffer suspension? This car sure is sportier than the average corolla.
Mortalomena 99% of the people who buy these things are 50 year old florida men compensating for their incoming erectile dysfunction, if they wanted sportiness for 95 grand they would not buy an escalade, people buy an escalade for anything BUT sportiness. :D
Lol I would totally get an m3 sedan before getting a caddy.
Evarn evon Well ofcourse, but if you have a family of 6 that BMW wont cut it....
You kids sure cant comprehend things.
Lmao!!
got to luv that HUD
Ah it's the physics guy
Another great review!! 2 recommendations: watch the lip smacking and the "here" this and "here" that.
My wife is considering buying one of these (used). This was by far the best review I've seen of this vehicle, and I've watched a lot of them. Thank you!! How has your experience been over the years?
Did you end up getting one if so do you recommend it ?
Great review Sir. What's to expect more in the 2016 edition?
Intelligent and informed.
Wow, thank you very much. I have an older Escalade and I and smitten.
One thing that you did miss was the climate control panel. If you touch that little bar on the bottom of it there is a storage space that opens
Adam Ortiz What? I must go find it.
Engineering Explained hopefully you still have the vehicle
Adam Ortiz Till tomorrow!
Good hopefully you find it
Engineering Explained did you find it?
Beautiful car!
this car had cooled cupholders before any other manufacturer (except super premium)
you are a frikken BOSS
Im surprised at how this luxury super tanker can get 0-60 in 6 seconds. Even the BRZ is slower.
T.K.B Haha, yeah it's surpringly quick. Same 0-60 as the Lexus RC 350 F Sport I tested.
wow this is pretty fancy. Seem like a solid competitor to Mercedes.
Will the cylinder deactivation work on cruise control?
does it have that hidden compartment behind the climate control panel ?
8:02 LOL, I suppose it's to show when the cylinders are disconnected , but your explanation is better!
Oh, you actually say it later on!
The 2015 cue system honestly was horrible it’s better now for 2016 and 2017 models
Holy crap! How long does the battery last in this vehicle with all those gadgets??
Not to be rude or anything, but you can instantly recognise american car by just seeing six (!) cup holders in saloon and more electric seat adjustment motors than industrial welder robot has. :)
How much to fill up the tank for an escalade
Awesome video, as always. Is it just me, or does it seem the RPM's were oscillating quite a bit during a steady cruise?
marek9116 Perhaps me just being ridiculous with my foot. I didn't notice any unsmoothness to it, though the effort for both pedals is fairly high, probably the highest of anything I've tested. Might be slightly fatiguing if you don't use cruise.

Can you try and get a review on the new Jeep SRT8? A close friend has the 06 model and it would be interesting to see the differences.
How do you turn the mirrors inward to go through the car wash or for whatever reason is there a button?
In between the left and right mirror control switches on the driver door armrest
Could you do a video on slipper clutches (as used in motorcycles) or the difference between awd and 4wd (if there is some)?
Thx and keep up the good work!
Bastiaan Walrave 4WD has no center differential. AWD has a center differential.
thx a lot!
love this truck, those buttons seem lose though.
Like always great videos but todays review is Cadillac than nothing can get better cos Its Cadillac.
Question Engineering Explained :-
Is it true Cadillac cars in general needs alot of servicing and maintenance compare to other manufacturers ?
Also is there any reason that you know of why Cadillac not coming to Australia because Jeep, Chrysler & Dodge are here and finally Ford Mustang going to land end of 2015 ???
Thanks Engineering Explained
id feel like an nba player in this thing
6:52 look at the cheapness of those switches oh my god
Kokainsamurai yea 2015 escalade honestly sucked it got way! Better in 2016 and 2017
Rappers are going to love this one..
This thing inside is like an airplane.
That awkward moment when the turn signal stalk on a $100k vehicle looks like the same thing in my wife's 2002 Buick Century.
i thought the suburban had to many buttons, but there are so many more on this
Massage while driving=goodnight…..CRASH!!!! whoopsie!
That's why there's an anti-fatigue function...
The antifatigue function does not keep you awake nor is it designed to.
Anti-fatigue massage functions are for seating comfort on long drives, where the seat keeps tilting the seatingsurfaces every few minutes so as to avoid sittingpains.
How you should call your channel: car explained.
thank you 5 stars
I wanna have that car for free!
me too lol
