    I watch many automobile reviews on TH-cam. I'm an avid vehicle enthusiast. I can honestly say your reviews are the best on TH-cam. You are captivating, your rate of speech and overall voice are ideal and you review everything that is important without too much fluff that other reviewers include in their reviews. Please keep up the outstanding work. I really enjoy your reviews!

    This is the car that combines and represents almost everything car-related thing that I hate as a car enthusiast. But I simply cannot hate it, at all. It has a distinct, honest character, unlike so many hyper-compromised, try-to-fit-all modern cars that aim to sell in the millions. I would definitely never buy one, but I just can't hate it.

    Here the prices can go up to 170 000€ ( 176 000 dollars ) .....plus you need a different driver licence. For example i have B-licence so i can drive car which weights less than 7 700lb. Over that you need C-class, which of course costs again somewhere around 1300€ ( 1350 dollars ) . So yeah, neven gonna be able to get one. If i wanna change the Escalade in a way that i can drive it with B-licence i have to inspection, and it's gonna cost somewhere around 50 000€ extra....

    Not my style of car by a long shot, but it's EASY to see why somebody would buy this if they could fork over the cash.
    21 isn't just OK, 21 is actually pretty awesome. Many mid and full sized sedans with V6's city driving get like 20-22, so even if that thing is pulling in 16 or something, it's not bad considering that it weighs 3 tons and has lots of power.

  • @alfasteve12
    @alfasteve12 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    Nice review! Another way of opening the rear hatch is 'hands-free'. With keys in pocket, you wave your foot under the rear bumper, by the tow hitch, and you can open and close the (aluminum) rear hatch. Hood is aluminum, too. Should have covered Autotrac. In 'Auto' mode, you have a 2WD vehicle, but when a difference in wheel speed is detected between the front and rear axles, the transfer case is automatically switched on, engaging the front axle, until slippage is no longer detected.

    I did in fact skim through it. You are correct. Mostly because im not intrested in this truck and also because I know the flavour of these reviews. The main content of the channel is exemplary. I have shared, liked, commented to that frequently. I recomend this chanel to every new member of my car club regardless if they are a noob, or experienced with cars. So now that you know im a fan... I am concerned that these reviews will pull people away from the channel. On the surface many people view look at them as a sellout, in that once the channel got popular some of the manufactures provide incentives for their products to be reviewed. Its a real problem on you tube. If that is correct, then yes a sellout. Alternative could be that you have run out of video ideas and use these reviews as fillers. If thats the case don't. Let your body of work stand on its own and put out less frequent EE videos. If you just want to take your channel in a fresh direction, why not set up a sister channel for reviews?

    • @EngineeringExplained
      @EngineeringExplained  9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Andy Negenman I post an explanation video every Wednesday. The past two Friday's I've shared an additional video relating to LMP1 and the engineering behind it, and I'll have another this Friday. I've been posting car reviews since September (over 8 months now). I truly appreciate your subscription, views, and for sharing my content. If you're not interested in videos like the car reviews, the great news is there will always be at least one explanation video a week (which I've consistently done since this channel started).
      Regarding car reviews, there are a lot of reasons why I do them. First of all, I certainly enjoy it. It's fun to test out different vehicles and you can learn a lot from it. For example, I never would have known CVTs are much better suited for paddle shifters than traditional automatic gearboxes had I not had these cars in for review. I think there's a lot of value in having experience with vehicles on the market in order to understand the technologies out there which I'm attempting to explain on my channel. I have a video on cylinder deactivation, but I've never driven a vehicle with it. This time I had, and it was cool to see how often it would switch between V8 and V4; it was seamless, not a harsh transition. There's a lot I learn from these reviews, and in addition it can help those who want a more technical explanation of the car than you'd probably get at a dealership. I also include links to explanations of the technologies used, if there's something specific, in the video descriptions (see this one).
      Edit: Let me also add that I do not get paid for these reviews. There's no reason for me to be dishonest. If I get banned from reviewing a certain brand due to publishing a review they were not fond of, so be it (though I doubt this will happen). There are other companies which admire the honesty.
      My 2 cents; again, if you don't like the car reviews, there is always another video each week. Thanks for watching!

      @Robot_Overlord 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      EE, good response which makes much more sense. Thanks for the reply. And I would like to retract my earlier statment. Id still like to see a seperate channel for reviews but its your channel. I would maybe suggest that you note that you are not getting paid for the review in the video as I am not the only viewer that drew the review for profit assumption.

      marek9116 Perhaps me just being ridiculous with my foot. I didn't notice any unsmoothness to it, though the effort for both pedals is fairly high, probably the highest of anything I've tested. Might be slightly fatiguing if you don't use cruise.

    Can you try and get a review on the new Jeep SRT8? A close friend has the 06 model and it would be interesting to see the differences.

    Like always great videos but todays review is Cadillac than nothing can get better cos Its Cadillac.
    Question Engineering Explained :-
    Is it true Cadillac cars in general needs alot of servicing and maintenance compare to other manufacturers ?
    Also is there any reason that you know of why Cadillac not coming to Australia because Jeep, Chrysler & Dodge are here and finally Ford Mustang going to land end of 2015 ???
    Thanks Engineering Explained

    That awkward moment when the turn signal stalk on a $100k vehicle looks like the same thing in my wife's 2002 Buick Century.

      That's why there's an anti-fatigue function...

      The antifatigue function does not keep you awake nor is it designed to.
      Anti-fatigue massage functions are for seating comfort on long drives, where the seat keeps tilting the seatingsurfaces every few minutes so as to avoid sittingpains.
