গ্রামবাংলার মায়েরা একেকজন সুপারওম্যান। তাদের সাধ্যের বাইরে স্রষ্টা কিছুই রাখেননি। তারা একাধারে দশ পনেরো জন সদস্যের পরিবার সামলান, সবার জন্য রান্নাবান্না করেন এবং গৃহস্থালি সব কাজ সামলান। কেউ অসুস্থ হলেও তার সেবা করেন আর এসবের মাঝে নিজে কখনো একটু অসুস্থ হওয়ার সময়ও পান না। আর মায়েদের ধৈর্যের সবচেয়ে বড় পরীক্ষা নেয় তাদের দুষ্টু ছেলেরা। তবে ছেলেদের দুরন্তপনার কাছে মায়েরাও হার মানেন না। তাদের কৌশলের কাছে দিনশেষে ঠিকই হার মানতে হয়।
মায়েদের সেই আদরমাখা শাসনের ধরণ এখন অনেক বদলে গেছে। ছেলে-মেয়েদের মধ্যেও সেই দুরন্তপনা এখন আর নেই। আধুনিকতার বস্তাবন্দী শৈশবে ইন্টারনেট, মোবাইলফোন আর পড়াশুনার ভার বইতেই নাভিশ্বাস উঠে যায়। এখানে সেই আশি কিংবা নব্বই দশকের শৈশবের নির্মলতা নেই। মায়ের ভালোবাসা কিংবা শাসন কখনো বদলায় না তবে বদলে গেছে সেগুলো প্রকাশের ভঙ্গি।
শৈশবের দুষ্টুমি আর মায়ের শাসনের স্মৃতিগুলো দিন দিন ঝাপসা হয়ে আসছে। কি দারুণ ছিলো দিনগুলো!
