That was a great example of a professional tig welding, I were just a stick welder and I never get experience on be welding and talking as you do, thanks for sharing your knowledge from Snjo ca thank you.
As of now I'm regularly doing this kind of weld for steam line i love to see and learn some new techniques and learn cause I know I'm still lacking and I need to learn more. Thank you sir
Can appreciate this guys hard work on this video but I’ve been in this trade for 35 years and you don’t need a 5/32” gap to weld pipe. Heavy 1/8” is effective. Only time I use a 5/32 and back feed is when I’m doing Heavy wall with a lot of high low mismatch or when the fittings are bigger or smaller than the pipe. Then i May transition the pipe or fitting to get a better fit up.
Nice job, great video, When I took my test on 2G they required the fill and cap with 3/32" 7018. It would be cool to see your technique on that because it's always interesting to see how others do it and learn new methods. Thanks.
For those that missed the tip for learning to walk the cup. I learned the same way. I took the head of the torch off the hose. Sit on the couch and watch TV and practice. This will teach you not to push the cup.
Tulsa Has a HORRIBLE HORRIBLE REPUTATION out in the field. The students can’t get a job with Tulsa Welding in their resume. The guys I’ve known replaced Tulsa with Field Training 🤡🤡🤡🤡.
@@xKitKatx- that may be true! However, in the 3 years 3 months I’ve worked at TWS I’ve had a few hundred graduates successfully complete the program and have since had a career in welding. You are more than welcomed to come for a visit any time for a one on one tour. When I first looked at TWS, they did have bad reviews. As a welder, I was at a point in my life where I could step away and instruct. So instead of talking, I stepped inn to help and assist those trying to change their lives for the better.
@@letitshinewelding3787 all that school has to offer is basic welding jobs that pay below 17hr. This school has NO PIPE jobs or anything over $20. This “school” is a joke. And should be shut down. 90% off classmates don’t even have a job after 6 months of graduating.
@@letitshinewelding3787 to THIS Day no one will hire anyone that went to Tulsa. Students don’t m Ke how to even run a decent root, cap, and a torch. Y’all just takin their money. And sellin them a dream
I thought back purging would be necessary in order to keep it from sugaring on the inside or am I tripping. I usually leave a 1/16 or a max of 3/32 gap and do 4 tacks. Im fairly new but thats what the OGs at work suggested I do. We weld stainless steel pipes for caterpillar gasoline engine turbines and every single weld bead is ran through x-ray.
The ones he actually have are the Knipex Mini Bolt cutters. He mispoke about which pliers he used. I also use Knipex mini bolt cutters and its like butter. Make sure you get the knotched version cuz it really helps with that 5/32 wire or anything bigger. Makes cutting stainless wire easy too
Man, with gravity as it is, and hot droopy metal, you gotta wonder why they want a 5/32's gap on the tube. It's better to make your tacks on the vert side of the tube so that gravity isn't working against you. He may have been welding like that so that we could see it better.
That’s gonna pass phasa ray n X-ray all day. It’s not perfect root but it’ll shoot. Best way to weld tubes is hot n fast give it a tight 1/8th gap n run ur torch at 150-170.
No wonder half of tws grads cant get a job or barely hold a torch when they do pass 🤔.. lol you could buy a set of fitting clamps and tack the bottom that fit is all fucked
Big thanks to Justin. Great teacher that really takes pride in his students.

Tig welding ability 6 out of 10
Cap is 7 out of 10

Was going to say the same thing 👍

Awesome work Justin. Much respect brother. Truly put hard work and passion on your welds and I know your student appreciate that very much.

You busted on the first tack😂
After working with the hands that graduate from Tulsa school... I wouldnt trust a word this video says. Ain't none of them hands welders.
Ok and?
nice videos😊

What kind of Kleins do you use to cut the filler wire?
No. 9 lineman’s work great! (Blue grips)

what was your amperage on the caps?
How can um stop the arc on top of the weld with a scratch start?
How much to train for argon welding
thanks!
Are weld test won’t allow over an 1/8th root gap :/
Root would not pass X-ray. Excessive reinforcement. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
lmao that would shoot all day
It shoots 😂

Use a scotchbrite to clean filler rod then wipe off with acetone soaked rag . Gap is too big for nuclear application !! But someplace to start .

The root pass is not good, it is deformed, the presentation pass has undermining of the base metal
Hi
The root is to heavy you'll bust out and your tie ends aren't consistent with your root..

I don’t think that root is above 1/8th, he will bust for that dingleberry if it’s above 1/8
phaser ray would probably be a no go but that would pass xray all day, ive seen way worse than that in the field pass xray
That’s gonna pass phasa ray n X-ray all day. It’s not perfect root but it’ll shoot. Best way to weld tubes is hot n fast give it a tight 1/8th gap n run ur torch at 150-170.
root too heavy
Not bad

Thats not a pipe that's a "Tube" 😉
That is how not to put in a root
