Grew up with this movie, weirdest thing. Met a guy named Marc and we both had long running sicknesses as kids, loved this movie and we've been married 10 years now. Special movie for me as a child and extra special as an adult
Definitely not one of Hans' more-known soundtracks but the one I personally think of when I think of him, and think it's one of his absolute best, and it makes an already wonderful movie even better. :)
I've seen this movie 3 times since I was a kid. Every time I cried my eyes out at the ending. This track is so moving too, and so is the story's message. It's a shame it's so underseen. RIP to the boy (Elliott Spears) too, who died in real life in the 90s aged 20. I think they made the mistake of marketing it as a horror movie. It's more like Lady In White. A children's fantasy/dark fairytale of sorts.
ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!!! ME as a writer of twenty years and my entire preschool class three years running give you a standing ovation! The soundtrack while now very rare is in myu hands but I still come back to your creation over and over. Thank you.
I just found it by pure luck, I was watching it a lot when I was a kid in the 90's along with the Neverending story! Yet, somehow I totally forgot about it, I forgot it ever existed, when I saw the house it popped back immediatly. I wonder how much more forgotten stuff I liked are somewhere lost in my brain...
It takes me to those lost lonely places that still exists all through the earth, or maybe to a homeless people doubt to the current crisis we are running on this passed year , thanks.
@mus1cat - Paperhouse is posted on You Tube in multiple parts, so I was able to see it, finally, after loving the book as a child. (The book is "Marianne Dreams" aka "The Magic Drawing Pencil.") The fears and the wonders of childhood and dreams, brought to life in the movie, book, and beautiful soundtrack. You're lucky to have seen it in a theater. Thanks to DanetheConquerer for posting this stunning suite.
Probably some of the best uplifting music I've ever heard. I remember the end of the film and hearing this in the theater. An experience. If you haven't seen this little known film, search it out. Alas, it isn't on dvd here in America that I know of. "The thinking man's Freddy Krueger" it was considered.
I am reading the book again by catherine storr and i would have nothing less than your work on my screen and surround! A work by you truely complimentary with hers! Thanks darl! A LOT!
i watched (listened) your video tens and tens of time, and just saw that for the glorious final you made the sky bright and yellow. i cry everytime i listen to this score and watch this movie T_T
I do BELIEVE STAUNCHLY that out of 50 years on this planet THIS is the MOST BEAUTIFUL thing that has blessed my ears. You do you. 😈

I don't really think Paperhouse is a horror movie at all. I loved it. Brought me to tears 5, 6, 7, 8 times. I loved every moment of it.
I think fantastic movie is better for this movie (sorry for my english).
Just caught the end of this film on the horror channel......the closing music brought me here......so beautiful!
Fantastic film! My parents told me about it. Great concept, atmosphere, cinematography, writing, soundtrack and locations!
What a beautiful piece of music to a rather underrated film

Gabriel Fauré Requiem brilliant score and the film was a masterpiece, poetic, melhancolic with talentuous actor performances.
I'm a writer. This is truely beautiful! Thank you!
