    So it's like a Floyd Rose without the pain. That should be fun. I'm looking forward to getting this guitar when the pandemic decides it's okay to ship things again.

    I've like this kind of guitar but came here to see what it's all about. WOW! It's so easy to adjust and fine tune! The more I look into this guitar the more I am starting to like it now. Especially how easily it is to change the strings comparing to the normal guitar!
    Thanks for sharing the video!

    Just bought a QX52. I've changed strings 2 times in 3 days; from 10s to 9s. What a learning curve: love/hate. Around 3:00 you show the place where the ball end is inserted; you insert the string & pull the tuner with string in it, backwards. Then you show putting the string through the top nut slot. The issue I have is that in order to put that string into the slot & pull it through, it must be pulled through & screwed in tight enough so that there's not an abundance of slack in it because if there is, it can't be tuned to pitch properly. So SOMEHOW the user must figure out a way to hold the string down with the right hand & make it NOT MOVE (since it's resting in the ball end place holder & in it's correct "loading string" position) while SOMEHOW figuring out a way to get the string through the little nut hole at the other end of the gtr & lock that string down. The slightest movement of the string during this process can/will make the string & tuner arm into which the ball end was placed, move. Also, I'm assuming the long piece of steel that is in the allen wrench set is for the purpose of pushing the ball end into the loading position correctly? Or perhaps there's something else that will need to be pushed with it at some maintenance point? Anyway....buyer beware that it is NOT as simple as this video makes it appear. The string in the bridge WILL MOVE when you try to tighten the string in the nut at the head stock. Be prepared to address that. I wish the Guitar Geek would shoot this video again from two different angles & show IN REAL TIME how the bridge issue can be addressed while stringing; it's that valuable to new users. Having several packs of cheap strings around for practice is nice, too.

    Thank you so much !! I have played for a while and I do want to learn how to change strings. I will not touch the intonation or the truss rod because I'm not a professional luthier.
    I'm excited to change strings myself.

  • @TheShyGuitarist9

    I was kinda hoping for a more detailed dive into the actual setup (action, intonation, pickups, etc.), since this is a pretty different guitar with some different hardware compared to normal Ibanez and all.
    Plus, at least some quick reference specs/measurements would be useful.
    Also not sure why the chapters go up to the 15 min mark when I can only see 7 mins here.

    i'm struggling to move that truss rod much more than maybe 1/8" either way and stopped for fear of breaking something on my ICHO10. Seems there's not really any room for anything to move, though being right against the neck pickup

    • @les.sunrisers
      @les.sunrisers 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's actually far easier to change strings with this type of bridge (and Steinberger made it even easier still with double-ball strings). No more winding strings around a tuning peg! (I used to use locking tuners, before I discovered the superiority of headless guitars).

    That isn’t a setup. A setup involves adjustment of neck relief, pickup height, and individual string height to match the radius.

  • @Cosmic-Spanner
    @Cosmic-Spanner ปีที่แล้ว

    2 things: 24 frets means they move the neck pickup down from the strat/tele sweet spot. Nope.
    2nd thing: It's 2022. We don't need a gaping, she itty hole around a direct-mount single coil. Get rid of the ledge with the contacts and move forward 60 years. Pull yourselves together.

      Here’s a tip: Put a little bend with some pliers at that section of the string so that when you insert the string the bend “aims” upwards, this was a life-changer for me.

  • @ernestschultz5065

    Guitars like this just look incomplete. I get the whole idea but couldn't they put something decorative on the end of the neck instead of just having it come to a boring dead stop? It looks like the headstock was lopped off with a meat cleaver.
