Awesome review again... I had the Rangeman... great watch! I wish it has heart rate when I first bought it. Now the GBDh1000 got all I wanted! Best of the both world! Certainly GBDh1000 overall material use etc is not as high end as Rangeman. However... Good enough for me :-)
Got the Rangeman, has features I will never use, but I love it particularly the automatic time setting via GPS and sapphire crystal. The H1000 has features which I think I would use more often.

I was amazed to see GBDH 1000 was still showing heart rate values when it was not even worn on any wrist. If this is the case then Casio needs to ramp up it's accuracy. How accurate are the HR & Spo2 values by the way?
Got both of these. Prefer the GBD to the GPR purely down to size factor. The GPR is MASSIVE and almost ungainly on the wrist. Both are outstanding watches though.

Got the GBD-H1000, man the battery life is a beast, even when always using accelerometer and bluetooth whole day everyday, not dropped a bar, my other fitnesd gears, need charging every 2-3days, battery with GBD is very good..

I think I can answer that for you (I own the rangeman from quite a wile now), yes it does have sunrise/set function, and you can also choose to have it display on the main screen alongside the time and date; as for the altimeter, wile it does have an indipendent barometer sensor, if you use gps to sincronize the watch (for example if you want to automatically set the time of your timezone without having to manually set the time), it will also take height readings from gps

G-Shock GPR-B1000 is best wach ( in terms of logical functions and no illogical ones ) but it have only one minus ( tooo expensive ) and this kick him from any competition :) good video to see fast the right one is garbage ( as every smart watch ) with only one good function solar powered , the name of the smart watches should be fitness watches there is no anything smart in them at all and best combination of function in one wach will be between the ability to power from heat and solar - PowerWatch matrix and G-Shock GPR-B1000 GPS visualisation with no illogical apps and sensors what a market we have ....
They are always out of stock, on ebay they get swooped off pretty fast.. someone hasn't made adapters for them yet, you have to live with the strap you get and not break it

Better quality ? It depends...Sapphire is more scratch resistant, but can shatter, mineral won´t. Stainless steel is tougher than ceramic, since ceramic might crack after a strong impact, and the side bumpers, specially the one on the sensor is weak. The band, although with carbon fibre inside is made of a rubber type of material that gets stained very easily. Also, i don´t trust the rotating crown that much. The route presentation isn´t good, since you can end up in a cliff. Also, the design is boring. It was released in 2018 and it´s already discontinued. I wonder why...

Yes the cons are there but if someone wants it for fashion then it is ok to pick and choose between 2 different watch tools
If you're planning on using it for trails and outdoors get the big older one. If you're more interested in health features, fitness, bicycling, running, waking, local city hiking trails and the gym then get the smaller newer watch for half the price.
The reason the gpr is much thicker on paper is because they measure where the heart rate sensor sticks out abit from the bottom and that’s where they measure it from you see. But other than that, yes the actual case is thinner than the gbd. 😀

Good review..Had bought the GBD 1000 coz it looks great & I used it for my runs but..It seems to have a lot of issues, i think the software is not yet perfected & I really wish casio would work on that..Bluetooth connectivity is not consistent, very short bluetooth range, delay in receiving notifications, No SMS notifications, vibration is too soft considering its a heavy watch you don’t really feel it..

Greetings everyone, wanted to know if I can change the rubber band on the rangeman, I recently bought the rangeman and I dont like the color of the band, wanted to use orange/black band if Casio actually sells it.
You must be permanently set in a region otherwise the clock will not work at Parameters😏and will give you errors regarding the Satellite connection😏 I am Romanian and I work in the UK I bought the watch but I send it back because when I move to Romania I can no longer use the watch because it is registered/UK!

So my H1000 just arrived. It is NOT huge like everyone says it is so I don't know what's up with people. I have an 8 1/16" wrist. it's the same size as my Garmin Tactix Delta. One question: The gbd-h1000 doesn't have navigation on the watch like the other one has, but it can record your route on the phone. So is the map real time ? That way you could navigate back through a trail without relying to the phone's GPS.
emll the Heart monitor goes into sleep mode after not wearing it for a while. Otherwise it’s constantly measuring... the sensor measures the amount of light reflected and translates it into a pulse... therefore it’s always reading something
Both are great watches, just has different purposes. I have the GBD since I will mainly use it for fitness and love everything about the watch. I would not use it for trekking, for this I use a trekking Casio watch Instead

Every G-Shock is virtually resistant to mud, dust, sand whatever. They´re all water resistant, water is thinner than mud... It happens that some have a specific construction for use on mud and also marketing :)

GPR b1000 is a master of G made in Japan, GBD is from China... GPR is a Real Solar Navigation watch, the GBD is Not a Navigation watch but just a Training watch...
Hi mate, GBD-H1000 is made in Thailand, not China. I am using GBD-H1000, and love it so much. I am not an adventurous man so GBD is quite fit to me along with GW-B5600BC gold. Love G-Shock.
GPR-B1000 (Move) not durable. Screen easily scratched. I am pretty upset and I emailed to G-Shock Canada, they said it will not be under warranty. I would like to get a GBD-H1000 (Rangman) I think it will be more durable and longer lasting and better value Do NOT buy the GPR-B1000

I have both. I love the rangeman for the ruggedness and gpr for the heart monitor and fitness tracking

There are some smart wristbands that are pretty accurate. And much cheaper as well. Hardly 100 bucks.

I just bought one today new with tags on eBay for $700 and change. Decent ones are out there. I'm in the US, and so was the seller.
There are also tons of the JDM models on eBay that are the exact same watch for under $800.

The thermometer is still affected by body heat on the GPR. The ceramic case back has nothing to do with temperature.
The GPS on Rangeman isn't accurate as it looks, so I bought GBD-H1000, because it has solar power.
I think Rangeman is an expensive gimmick,
Also, if these two watches had a budget babby it would be the Amazfit T-REX Pro .
GPR b1000 is a master of G made in Japan, GBD is from China...
GPR is a Real Solar Navigation watch, the GBD is Not a Navigation watch but just a Training watch...
Hi mate, GBD-H1000 is made in Thailand, not China. I am using GBD-H1000, and love it so much. I am not an adventurous man so GBD is quite fit to me along with GW-B5600BC gold. Love G-Shock.
GPR-B1000 (Move) not durable. Screen easily scratched. I am pretty upset and I emailed to G-Shock Canada, they said it will not be under warranty.
I would like to get a GBD-H1000 (Rangman) I think it will be more durable and longer lasting and better value

the gbd-h1000 will also release a version with sapphire glass and metal heads...and then its cost as the gpr-1000 😉
