  • This is the beautiful home of Richard Ram and Patricia Thibeault-Ram of Cherry Valley in Leicester, MA. It was custom built in 1983. The home lovingly depicts the 17th century right down to the tiniest detail, from the custom leaded windows to all the furnishings. A perfect example of this era and a joy to behold. .

Lets give praise to the brilliant minds that were able to recreate such a time capsule of a home. Absolutely magnificent. I am in awe by the builders and artists that can take us back in time with their knowledge and ingenuity. ❤️

I run a museum. As I watched the video, I tried to figure out what was wrong with the house. I'll have to do some research, but I think maybe two things. I've never seen walls that dark. It doesn't make sense. Candle and sun light is absorbed by dark colors. That's one of the reasons why barns were so often painted with whitewash on the interior. It brightens things up. That house would always appear dark inside. It's dramatic, but not very functional inside. The other problem is that is just two much stuff on the walls. People generally didn't have the money to have so many possessions. And mostly folks put things away if they could. For example, they usually would have their socks in the cupboard instead of "on display". ~~It's a nice (museum) display, but all-in-all, it just didn't feel right.

Why are most of the walls black? I was just wondering?
