Nothing kills off your enthusiasm for karting faster than competing in a 24 hour enduro race.... There is no doubt, at about 1:45am... everyone doing that event starts to wonder why the hell we're doing it... It was about 3 degrees, my toes had gone numb. Which was just as well, as the chaffing around my feet from the 14 hours of karting we'd already done had already started making my feet bleed through socks and vibration alone. The rear seat mount had broken from an incident during my nap shift and 2 drivers had pulled out... I was out doing a double stint and passing pits pointing at the seat... "We know!!!" shouted back my pit crew.... No-one wanted to overtake as the only warmth in my face was the exhaust gas of the twin engine kart infront... By the time I finish... I headed another 150km to meet my then GF at a hotel we'd accidently double booked for the weekend. I was black top to bottom in dirt and stank with exhaust emissions. I was so knackered. I passed out on the sofa and there was zero romance that whole weekend. Karting.... what is it good for.... not my sex life, that's what....
Well done Jimmy. Glad you were able to prove to yourself that you belong on a kart track. I can’t believe that people would question if anyone should be in a kart. If someone is having fun karting, then no one should tell them not to. On another note, I really enjoy Jimmy and Steve’s friendship. It feels like they are real friends, not just ‘TH-cam’ friends.
Anyone who does the night stint in an endurance race deserved to get the absolute respect, no matter what result they have. Especially when it's wet. They deserve a few beers too.
I love humble Jimmer after the first stint. Killing curbs, clean overtakes, blazing laps, and the camera gets a “well the kart’s quick and handling well...”

Love this Jimmer, you can clearly see the effort you put in to karting as a whole and it's clearly paying off. You smashed it (not literally!). Love your enthusiasm. Maybe one day I'll actually get in a kart!!
I been using TH-cam for entertainment more than anything else for like 7-8 years now. It usually takes me a while to really start liking a certain channel. It took 4 days for Jimmer to become my favorite TH-camr.
Think you summed it up nicely about trying to compare sim to real life when its wet. There's just no feeling like it. I used to do enduros at Buckmore and remember that first time in the wet when I turned the wheel and nothing happened!
Really impressive, it's a great feeling when you see that you're improving. BTW lol at the guy at 22:24. It's 6 am, Jimmer's just had a 2,5 h stint and he's asking for thoughts on Honda leaving F1. Not trying to call anyone out, just amazed at the (lack of) timing of some people.

Great video Jimmy. I have driven an hour in fading light and soaking conditions at Buckmore and that was enough. How you drove for that long is amazing.
I went to watch a 24 hour race at my local track last year. My local team needed an extra drive because they had entered an extra kart for some reason. I normally drive Rotax Max, but at that point hadn't been in a kart for a year and a half. I started out with a 2 hour stint, then one hour break followed by another hour in the kart. That was a rough start :D Protip: Get pinlock visor inserts! Get a completely clear visor with a pinlock insert for night. And then one for day. Then your visor can't fog up, and during rain you wont have 9kg of sand in your eyes because you're keeping the visor cracked slightly open.
congrats to you and the team jimmy its a shame you didnt win but credit to you all i fancy doing karting myself only at the manchester one though near old trafford do it now and again and had a go at the small one at blackpool pier that was there before covid but couldnt do that full time no way the amount of energy you need for that particular in the night stint looked scary so hats off to you jimmier and rest of the team who do it
Watching your karting videos since last year I can easily see how much you've improved. Even the start of this year I could tell you had improved. I know the pandemic messed up the season for you doing this but it doesn't seem to have set you back any. You still doubt yourself a lot when not behind the wheel but once you are; the confidence shows while your driving.
