Whilst it may be inviduous to name one Cornet as the "Best of Aa' ", Chris Ritson truly was one who really took that title. His whole heart and soul showed and shone through during his term of office.
Chris also had another poem which I believe he wrote during his time at the High School. I cannot remember it now though I do have a copy somewhere in the hoose. IIRC, it has to do with a "Few Hundred Horsemen" and when I first read it, I knew that Chris Ritson had Hawick very deep within his Heart and Soul.
I am not a Teri, but to me, Chris Ritson represents the very, very best of Hawick *and* the Common Riding.
(And I dae appreciate when he delivers ma medicines frae Crosbys too!)
