Nelsan was a phenomenal actor. They were supposed to kill him off in season 1 and everyone loved him so much that they kept him through the entire show!

I got to see Nelsan act in person when I was a kid. He was on one of the local speech teams on the south side of Chicago (either Thornton or Thornridge, I can’t remember). When I saw him in the first episode of True Blood, I recognized him immediately.
Wow! That is so cool. I would've loved to meet him in person. He was an extremely gifted actor. Anytime I feel down and I need something to brighten up my day, I watch TB just so I can hear him, Pam, Eric, Jesus, Tara and so many others say ridiculous things and make me laugh. I truly miss seeing him on the big and small screen. Such a gifted individual gone too soon 😢

I wouldn't be surprised if it was different because in the books she was turned when she was 19, yet the actress they cast for Pam doesn't look even close to 19 (though she still plays Pam wonderfully).
Wasn't impressed with the casting of Eric at first, but I've grown to love him as much as I love Eric in the books. He brings out a whole new quality to the character and he really is the most interesting person on the show.

@@AxelBain In the show she's not Swedish, she's from New Orleans. Apparently in their free time over the last 103 years, Eric taught her Swedish, probably for occasions such as this when they wanted private communication. A bad accent would be expected.

Swedish is a decedent of Old Norse, which was the predominant language that was spoken in Scandinavia during the Viking Era, and he must have followed the language as it evolved into the modern day. As for Pam, she is only around 200 years old, from England, but since she is Eric's child, he must have taught her the language.
As much as I like his short hair, I love the long hair because it better symbolized to me of his viking background. But either way, Eric always looks awesome, especially with Pam by his side :D

Thanks to this scene I got curious about Sweden (I assumed they are talking swedish because Alex is swedish) and I learned swedish language.3 years later I understood what they said and I can't be happier.

I don’t think everyone can be glamoured. I think it’s kind of like hypnosis, or Jedi mind tricks, it only works on the weak minded.
It also gives the human a sort of brain damage. In small doses it's fine but it's better to avoid it if you need your victim lucid
because if you watched the whole series, Lafayette isn't a normal human he's a bruho or some sort of shaman.
