In my opinion, lyrics like these are so much more powerful when vocalized in this way. Sung cleanly, it'd be just be another in the long list of ballads.
It no surprise to me someone that looks so feeble and weak doesn't understand the concept that the delivery of vocals in this style conveys the passion of what the song is about.
I will admit, his reaction feels like reading a review for a world famous texas bbq joint that says "one star. The food was too meaty and tasted of smoke". This band is objectively virtuosic at each of their instruments and pushing boundaries particularly in vocal technique while exploring an unexpected emotional territory for the genre. They are among the best in the world at what they do. I am really glad you are reacting to the trilogy and look forward to seeing the rest! I think that what visually reads as smirking derision can be a little frustrating for fans, but we came here for a reaction. Even if it's a little infuriating, at least it's genuine! I might react similarly to some slower, simpler music he may enjoy. That's what makes life interesting! Some folks just don't like barbeque.
The first time I watched this video, I cried. It's the combination of the actors, the lyrics, that really melodic guitar solo and having experienced the pain of that loss.
Kinda feel like the guy would rather make jokes about the band than listen. Whereas the woman is willing to give props instead of just shutting the genre out.
I love Lorna Shore. Love Will. I love metal and I love deathcore. But I'm happy I wasn't recording my first listen because it was definitely more like this guy's reaction. Took a few listens before it grabbed onto me. Will's infectious personality helped. I think people are nuts if they're expecting dude to love it right away when he's clearly not someone who listens to metal outside of this channel. That said - maybe watch some of Wills solo stuff like his cover of "Chokehold" before going onto part 2.
Everything done in this trilogy is done for a reason. Now this is my interpretation of the video, lyrics and the music. The lyrics are telling the story as they usually do but the music is suppose to represent the thoughts and feelings someone feels when they lose someone. When I lost people in my life this song is a very accurate depiction of what that time feels like. Your mind is racing but life still moves forward. This trilogy is the grief process. Will's vocals in these songs hit very different from other Lorna Shore songs. If you dont have the experience with this kind of music you may not be able to distinguish it but the vocals are more painful and keep that as an undertone emotion that is playing out through the rest of the trilogy. Each part of the music is telling a part of this story. Its done on purpose. I hope this brings a perspective to maybe help understand the song.
@@derekhoffman1022 It's about a man that falls into a dreamworld, makes it lucid(Welcome Back, O' Sleeping Dreamer, Into The Earth), becomes god of the world(Sun//Eater), enjoys his reign for a bit(Cursed To Die), then, experiences disenchantment, resentment, and futility(Soulless Existence, Apotheosis). This ends in anger/wrath/despair(Wrath), until he finds a love, who subsequently vanishes as quickly as she appeared, which is where the trilogy starts(Pain Remains I, II, III). The trilogy details the culmination of all the songs together by the rage, despair, and hopelessness the protagonist feels at losing what he thought would fix his "perfect dream world" where he was god. Turns out dreams are meaningless without action so the protagonist tries to burn the world down to escape back to reality. Which is where the triumphant melody from the chorus of part 2 and the end of the trilogy comes from. It's a call to action. So the protagonist may or may not have escaped at the end. I like to think of it as similar to when Leonardo Di Caprio's character and his lover got stuck in dream level 4 during Inception, if you've ever seen that movie.
@@derekhoffman1022 Anytime. It kind of bothers me a bit that most people think the videos and lyrics match(They do a bit, but they also don't), and dont know the rest of the story cause, like you said, makes it even more powerful. That being said, genius move by the band/Adam with these videos even if i dont personally like it. It's definitely worth going through the album once with the lyrics. Its pretty cinematic.
He’s gonna come around- I was same way getting into deathcore. “Nah too much noise”. It’s coming just wait 🤪 I know he can see (and maybe hear?) the emotion behind this song. That’s the amazing thing about this type of music to me- you can convey SO many different emotions, messages, thoughts. I know you can do the same with other genres but it doesn’t “hit me” in the same way as this does
You should have named your hobby "Hit Pat with Kay" :) Love Kay´s ongoing love to Lorna Shore, i can´t wait for the 2nd Part (and all the rest) To offer Pat something he can follow too, i recommend "Ghost Love Score" live at Wacken 2013 by "Nightwish" if you knew that one, i change to "Ayreon - The Day That The World Breaks Down" (original Video !) and if you´ve done that too, let me know cause i have a lot more stuff in my musical catalogue for you two ;)
I want to say three things. First, my feelings of loss are represented more in this song (and those that follow) than any other I have heard. Taking the musical style seriously is a choice, and it’s okay if the missus isn’t there. Second, Kay your enthusiasm is delightful and I am subscribed for it. Third, I look forward to your continued explorations of metal; I’d be fascinated to see your take on Sleep Token, Gojira, and Slipknot to name a few more popular bands.
I love her enthusiasm, but.... I wont speak negatively, ill just say that i feel how he feels bout this song/band.... I appreciate his honesty but its honestly disappointing. Is he gonna shit all over the next two parts too? Cuz i really dont think he even wants to continue this trilogy. Which is perfectly fine if he doesnt. 😊
I didn't think I was shitting on it. Said they are super talented. Just don't like how it sounds in my earhole lol. Like you can listen to opera and it doesn't sound good to you but can still respect the talent.
@@HitPlayWithKay yes I understand your point and that's what I was saying cuz I do the same with music I don't like. I make jokes about it just trying to get thru it. Lol I respect talent or skill. But when I don't like what I'm listening to, I make jokes out of it. Then I don't listen to that music so, yeah lol
I was one that put Pat on blast pretty hard for To The Hellfire, I felt like at least this time around not disrespectful and I appreciate that, but I don't understand how anyone doesn't feel the emotional substance here, granted he hasn't completed the Trilogy, but even as a stand alone offering Dancing Like Flames has more emotional depth than 99% of music out there, and while Will does nothing but harsh vocals with Lorna, if you actually pay attention to the lyrics, of course he's screaming, he's in his own private hell. But overall it's an improvement from last time.
Idk how this woman is dating you bit you better step up soon! Or she’s gone. I’ve been following y’all’s channel for about 2 months now and you’re gunna lose this woman. Just a man to a man… marry her now or you’re done dude. Love y’all ❤
The bloke sounds like he’s trying really, really hard not to like it, consciously looking for negatives. This is no way to enjoy music. Or anything really…
Quite the opposite. Hoping to be pleasantly surprised. You have to admit this isn't most peoples genre of choice and can't be surprised if someone doesn't enjoy the same music as you do. We think they are super talented musicians and said so in every video of theirs i believe.
How do you know if you like it or not if you never give it a chance? I never listen to jazz, but there are groups who have incorporated some jazz elements into their music and I love it. Maybe I would like certain jazz artists if I gave them a chance.
It's not like we listen to songs beforehand. We weren't sure what to expect! Lots of people requested for this one and said it was melodic. He was hopeful 🤷🏻♀️
I feel like he's trying too hard to not like it 😅🤭
Totally opposite lol.

Do you know the actual story the album is conveying?
@ThaBeatConductor I heard part of it but not the whole story no.

You told me too 😅
Even though the music is fast, it is actually a slow song. Follow the orchestrated element to the song and that is the actual groove.
Pat, you need to loosen up and play with Kay abit more👍
We can tell she wears the pants with how she reacts to this sound meanwhile he kinda looks disgusted lmao
She’s 🔥🔥🔥 he’s 🤡 😂😂😂😂 we definitely know who wears the pants in this relationship. Someone’s way too lucky.
