It only happens when on flat ground. First gear to second speed around 5 mph to 20 mph. It is sort of like brakes dragging . You can feel it pulling down then letting go then doing it again.

That is strange, I have tried to replicate but I have not been able to. Hope you find a solution to this!

The quad boss is nice . The one I was looking at is more of a seat. Have you upgraded your pgm yet. 2014-2016 shifted real hard and the same with down shifting. I belong to the Honda Rubicon forums. There is a mode that you can get to soften your shifts. Order a 2017 pgm for your Rubicon. The shifts are like butter so are down shifts. To me it starts faster . They are a bit pricey paid a little over $200 for mine.

+backspace4093 thanks for the comment! I think we belong to the same forums. I actually found that same info on the Honda Foreman forums. I was able to source a 2017 pgm for about $180 shipped. Totally worth it. The ride is so much better in DCT mode now that I rarely even use ESP unless towing or extreme technical trail sections. I should probably make a video on this topic because it really does change the ATV for the better. Happy trails brother!

@@straight-up-shots nice, I have a hard case I like. But I just bought a drop rack. But my seat hangs off the back too far and covers the rack. Now I'm looking for something smaller, this would have been perfect but it's like it doesn't exist anywhere but this video lol I'll keep searching

Lol I just checked out the Honda Rubicon forums . You have the same user name. I made a comment on how Well It shifted . Its worth the upgrade. Yeah do a video on the installation and review. I bet a lot of people don't know about this upgrade. Hey do me a favor . We have the same bike and need to know something. Next time you are out have it in first gear. Just creep along and see if it sort of surges . What I mean it feels like something is dragging for a sec then lets go. It does this off and on. Brakes are good I never use them. The one way bearing was a thought but its OK. I think its just the inherit of the ATV myself. If yours don't do it then I will know something. Thanks.

I will see if we can get a video on that, I agree that not a lot of people out there know about this upgrade to the pre-2017 models. As for your surging problem, can you give more detail? LIke what speed does it happen, and is it only from a standstill, uphill or downhill or flat, that sort of detail may help me in attempting to replicate.

Does the passenger still need to hold on to the driver?

Not if you’re just cruising around, but if you’re doing any sort of intense riding, I would say yes, however, the seat doesn’t appear to be available anymore. There are variance similar to it if you search.
