Just same happened with me , I was ready for fuel up, I went to petrol pump and asked for 5 litre petrol (also with my hand gesture) They were 2 people , he started dispensing oil and second person kept me busy with further question and the first person stopped at 1 liter (102.17) , removed nozzel from tank and Said ,"hogaya 1liter", i was confused and again said I asked you for 5 litres not for 1 .
He replied with "ohh okay , I listen for 1 liter", and their behaviour showed me their is some scam is happening ,i was bit late and do not want to get in fight . I paid that only 1 liter and I was out . And definitely they are ready to do scam with me but anyhow I refused to get that 4 liters .
Yeah this is pretty much an usual practice for them 😅

Coincidence nahi ye short fueling ka scam hat jagah chala hua hai, jab bhi banda kum tel daale jitna bola ho to satarak ho jaaye wo dobara 0 se shuru krta hai ki whi se continue.

Happened in mumbai also. They tried to change nozzles and didnt start from 0. I made them give me a apology in writing which i clicked and kept on emaik for further reference. They fired that guy. But not sure if it was a gimmick. This was when i was travelling back to mumbai and had stopped at the mira road pump
It was definitely a gimmick. There is no way the managers/owner are not aware of this.

Normally to do this kind of FRAUD at petrol bunks 2 person will stand next you. Even if you give clear required fuel for 500/, in 2 or 3 languages, the fellow who holds the outlet gun will starts and other person next him will divert you to some other topic, if you not in good alert this kind of grauds they do. Most of the bunks throughout India they mafe it bad habit.
Yeah that's correct. I had confronted people at a petrol pump once like 3-4 years back. After opening the lid(it was a scooty so had to get down and open seat), before I could see if meter was at 0, one guy said there is dust under seat and started dusting with a cloth, the other guy started filling. I looked immediately and meter was at 80 and he stopped at 100. I said either start from 0 and fill again or I am leaving without paying. He started over from 0.
