      Depending where you’re located, the best bet would be to join a local pipefitters union. Be prepared to travel. I’ve worked with guys that have never worked closer than 5 hours from their house.

    That is one really nice welding rig. Im.not brand bias, had a 2018 Ram 2500. After i bought it always regretted not getting exactly what you have. Well in 2020 i traded it in for a new body style GMC 3500HD Denali Dually. Has been an amazing truck so far, same kind of tire set up you have on yours. I would guess you will have that truck for many more years with no major issues. Thats a beast of a rig brother. Keep up the good videos. 👍

    How do you keep this so clean thing rust wise traveling all over? Your frame and what I can see of below the pickup looks very nice for a 6 year old rig or whatever it is. I assume you’re exposed to salt and everything else that destroys vehicles traveling all over. I live in North Dakota and even those ranch hand bumpers are usually crusty in a few years, crustier yet are flatbeds like cm and Bradford. Granted yours being repainted probably helps, I’m sure it’s much better than the factory paint job.

      I wish i could describe how much time i spend washing this truck. It’s literally filthy right now compared to what it usually is. When it gets muddy on a right of way it goes straight to a car wash and gets washed. I can count on one hand how many nights it has sat with mud or salt sitting on it. I’m not trying to sound vein, it’s just the fact of the matter, i spend way too much time taking care of the truck. lol when i first bought the truck in 2018, i would avoid highways in the winter just to minimize the salt exposure. Obsessive to say the least.

    That oil is not recommended by Cummins for that engine. They recommend Shell Rotela T-5 or T-6 because they produce less soot than the ones your using. Amsoil is basically junk. My opinion of course. Putting after market parts not designed for it causes unforseen problems like oil leaks and parts failures. Keep your turck stock emiissions too because it was designed for it to be that way, 73,000 miles on the same truck you have only its a Big Horn trim and only issue was the turbo acuatoer, an electrical part. Aisen transmission has been pulling my hay loads at 4-5 tons no problem on a factory goose neck.

    • @DownhillWelder300
      @DownhillWelder300  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      I agree to a certain extent. I have ran rotela t-6 before. I’m not dismissing your points, but the way i see it, any synthetic oil is far better than any conventional oil a person could run. I used to believe whole heartedly that using superior products and going above and beyond when it comes to maintenance intervals a person could be confident there would be no or very minimal issues with their equipment. When my Aisen went out at 51,000 miles and my engine locked up at 93,000 miles (all completely stock) my mindset changed slightly. lol

    • @Davidk.p4
      @Davidk.p4 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You can literally run any 15 40 oil in a Cummins, they don’t care, and diesels run way better deleted, theres not even an argument to be made there

  • @20x20shop
    @20x20shop 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Why do you change the oil every 5k miles? I got a 2019 6.7 and I do oil and both fuel filters every 12k.

    • @DownhillWelder300
      @DownhillWelder300  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Old school thinking i guess. Sometimes i end up going over simply because I’m working to many hours and can’t get it done. It’s kind of like a built in buffer. If i moss an oil change here and there I’m still safe.
