Excellent - has the 'new' sound - the mid '60s ruled the roost in my opinion. So much good music, too much - the stations were swamped. Now, finally, i get to hear them again or in this case, for the 1st time. Groovy ! Good going Lime !
I'm pretty sure this was played on WBZ Boston in early '64 as well. it's so GREAT hearing songs like this on TH-cam that didn't get above the top 50 nationally. so many good records that, for either lack of promotion, similar sound to a hit, or record companies putting the ki-bosh on it, never became national hits through no fault of their own.
Girl group sound that is far more recognized and appreciated today as a classic, than when it was first released in late '63. Great stuff that I never tire of hearing.
Morty Craft, famed record producer pre-Spector and responsible for everyone from The Harptones and The Tokens (with Neil Sedaka) and Johnny and The Hurricanes to early Paul Simon/Art Garfunkel 45s on Warwick (as Jerry Landis and Artie Garr), tried to produce this as a Spector-type production after the labels Morty owned closed up.
I'm surprised an attorney didn't get involved. If Len Barry's, 1-2-3, was accused of being a rip off of The Supremes,' Ask Any Girl (legal action taken my Motown), this one would definitely qualify for litigation.

They may have been a "studio group ... " It's beautiful; those skirling violins put it over!

Everyone's "sound" is someone else's sound. Who cares?
Rock n' rollers pillaged each other since it all began.
Yes, not just the sound, but the chords are identical
None, I don't know anything about them.
