With all the mods, weapon mutators, rings, amulets, consumables, & throwables, you really dont need a archetype. It helps but you dont need it. But i love them
I hate how they handled scaling in this game. I kept all my weapons to +3 and and I didn't even have max classes by the time i reached the final boss and the boss was lv 14 meanwhile i'm level 9. no wonder it was so mindbogglingly hard.
It's crazy how good this guy is. I used a tank build to get my first clear because I was not good enough to do it any other way at the time. Even then I ended up having to put my session to public on the last boss because I was just not quite good enough to beat him.
When venom charges his over head attack. Run to him and dodge towards him. Then immediately dodge back to where he hit. In my experience it made evading that attack super easy because I'd end up behind him, but also those annoying red circle things seemed to shoot behind him too. That move is clearly meant to intimidate players into dodging away from venom. The branches that come out of the ground travel slowly and will hit 9 times outta 10 if you go away from him. You did it way at the end of the fight so I assume you realized this. But for anyone else who reads this!
It’s a shame the red rings are rng dependent where they land. YeetsMeMario did a whole bunch of runs just looking for where they would spawn after the overhead attack. You can get screwed over pretty bad if 2 of them land right next to each other behind him.
@@projectgg6730 I knew that black cat band would make a lot of this challenge way too easy. It’s the #1 reason why I made the rule to not use account bound trinkets and weapons haha.
My first apocalypse run with my friends got so bad when we made it to cancer because he had hearty and regenerator, it was the hardest boss fight ever for us.
Really impressive run. I'm quite surprised you didn't bother getting Tranquil Heart with the Override Pin (using Nightweaver's Web and trading the Tormented Heart to Nimue) to get some passive regen for sections that needed it (mainly to regen cheap hits), but since you couldn't pair it with high DR or stack more regen, it makes sense.
With someone over a hundred hours I had no idea of a Bird injectable and those amulets I learned something new... Again, thanks Harpy! Though, now I'm curious about how to know you have it, and how to get both amulets/trinkets?
The way to know if it’s in your burning dran tileset is if you can see some ledges high up that you can’t climb up to. The injectable always spawns on the edge of the map, the in game map menu also has a small section of its outline missing where the secret entrance is. It’s being covered up by some breakable wood planks. Hunters mark I believe can give away the location of it too by marking all the little birds above the secret entrance. Explorer’s last skill may also be able to mark the amulet through the edge of the map but it might be too far away. The best way of knowing you have it is if you don’t notice any other injectable like the burning enterable house or the new dran manor from the awakened king dlc. After walking through the dungeon completely scan through the map to see if you can find the missing outline segment. As for both trinkets one is just laying at the edge of the injectable and the other is in an unlockable box.
I seriously hope they somehow manage to fix "Blood draw" that Mod would be insane if it didn't have a 60% chance to just.. not work at all or refuse to target other enemies within range.
Shit, accidentally removed your reply about the bomb attack. Accidentally thought you were talking about the little rings that spawned after the slam and wanted to delete mine lol (thanks TH-cam mobile). Yeah his triple bomb attack can be rough, but I still find it easier to evade than dealing with the potential aftershock of the initial attack. If you just dodge left or right after going behind him it’s fairly consistent.
Lmaooo 😆 Yeah it’s a very powerful weapon, definitely still one of the best. At least nightfall needs to be manually aimed, and it being projectile based instead of hitscan takes a little bit of practice to lead shots on medium range and distant targets. Enigma invalidates so many fights and add waves with its tracking and overloaded blasts. Like the annihilation fight would have been waaaay easier if I used it. But yeah I won’t deny that nightfall carried most of the run.
I entered R.E. at 8 too iirc, but that was playing the game normally (boss ended up being 14 and I was still 8 bc I didn't upgrade any weapons for the campaign except maybe 1 melee a couple levels lol) idk if that means anything though
You had the Dreamweaver version of losomn, which means you could have gotten the dreamcatcher and taken Nimue's dream and gotten the crescent moon bow. It would have had a higher damage output than your current bow, and you would have had healing like with the nightfall
Why weren't you dodging behind Venom for the slam attack? Then dodge again because he uses the dagger attack right after if you're behind him. Edit: never mind, you did that later on lol
The blue barrage on Custodian is kind of overtuned. Way too much damage on apoc. Surprised you didn't mess around at all with trading at the Nightweaver's web. Could have gotten a tranquil heart for the lulz. Or waited just a bit for the void heart.
I definitely regretted not grabbing tranquil heart. At the time I was of the opinion the physical Sha’Hala was an easier fight. Although in retrospect it would have made my life a lot easier had I toughed it out and had access to void heart and tranquil heart instead.
Yeah I’m not a big fan of trapper being a modifier that normal bosses can have. It’s one thing to have wacky modifiers on the aberrations, it’s another to have neutral dodging become a hazard durning regular bosses.
At the moment I believe it just scales from 1 to 14 by the end of the campaign. Although I haven’t messed with entering the 2nd and 3rd world back to back to see if that changes anything. I’ll experiment and reply with another comment once I’ve tried that out.
If I was dying that much on veteran I’d be disappointed in myself 😭 I did consider including it in the title, but then I figured that It’d be obvious from the amount of damage enemies were dealing. That and by the apocalypse skull on the minimap (as small as it is lol)

For anyone who does not know, giving the Red-Prince 3 coins allows you to skip the boss fight. (Might kill a hardcore run tho due to a bug)
and gives a different reward, so if you wanted firestorm you cant do this.
@@AuriCrystal Ah true, but I figured that was implied with how this game tends to handle branching choices.
