I recognized THE actor from THE 80's movie. It felt like watching tropic thunder and recognizing tom cruise... hilarious. Thanks for the review: it's awesome as usual
i must say hot tub time machine was one of those raunchy teen comedies that no matter what kind of reviews it gets it always turns out to be great. a great movie with a lot of perspective among friendship that i found really enjoyable
I thought it was irritating how the movie doesn't even have a consistent sense of its own timeline. Adam refers to Jacob as being 20 years old in 2010, but he was conceived in 1986, which means he was probably born in 1987. I think there was a scene where Adam refers to 20 years being the amount of time they traveled into the past. The audience knows that there's a difference between 20 and 24, so why insult us by saying "20" to refer to the age of "23" or to an amount of time numbering 24 years?! Jacob would back me up on all of this. Nerds pay attention to details. Details matter. 2:11 It's called "Chernobly" which would imply that it's Ukrainian. They never clarify that. Interestingly, the Chernobyl disaster happened in 1986.
Initially the trailer made me think that this was going to be a total waste, but then I found myself laughing at some of the stuff. Think I'll wait until the DVD, but thanks for giving me a reason to watch it.
Holy shit...I think this was the first video I ever saw of Mr. Jahns. Like, way back in '10 I think I wanted to know how could Hot Tub Time Machine was and just searched it on TH-cam and found this review. Watching this review again is almost like a Hot (You)Tub(e) time machine.
Thanks for keeping really up to date on all the movies! You must be pretty organized, or else your super OCD about your videos. Either way good work again!
Dang man. I loved this review. Though I think the one on 2012 was better. So much hilarious shit talking. xD Loved the movie by the way. P.s. I just found you out 2 hours ago, and loved the review on Vampires Suck so much, all I've been watching are you're reviews. Might take your advice on watching the movies, but seen them all. And I think you explained Avatar perfectly.
You should do a review on Back To The Future or the whole Back To The Future Trilogy! I've also been waiting to see a Reservoir Dogs review by you, because I think it is one of the best Quentin Tarantino movies, as well.
@JeremyJahns i talk about you at home all the time. we'll all be talking about movies and i'm like "my review guy liked that movie". that's what you are "my review guy"
Hehe, nice review! As a child of the 80's, I had the feeling this movie was aimed directly at me. Why is it the 80's was so damn funny? Everything about it was just like over-the-top ridiculous and corny for some reason. I don't know if it was the clothes or what. Perhaps it was because people lost their sense of what was cool. Particularly adults. Maybe adults felt like children again after Star Wars, and looked to express themselves with neon colors and laser lights.
If anyone noticed near the 3/4 way point adam dressed in the Kurt Cobain disguise with the white shades, the hat, and the scarf I thought that was hilarious.
oh man I loved the 80's everything was cheap, we werent in pointless wars, well except that time ummmm nevermind I love 80's music, some tv shows, mostly the music, and the fact I was still a young teen that didnt have a job, bills, or any responcibilities and money in the bank I was living large man it was fuckin awesum.
I was born in the 90's, and it doesnt matter..This movie is fucking hilarious. Probably the funniest movie i have seen since Superbad or Harold and Kumar. The Ringer is also fucking funny.
does anyone vomit in it. I've been debating watching it but I don't watch movies if we see people vomit in it. (I know it's fake but that doesn't stop me from nearly puking my self)
So just because someone vomits, you pull yourself from the movie. That's so pathetic. To answer your question. Yes someone vomits but what do you expect from this type of movie. It has drugs, partying, drinking, nudity, cursing or swearing, some violence and fun. It is a good a movie and it's funny. The vomit scene isn't that gross unless you let yourself pull towards it like you probably do
Just saw it for the first time on Hulu yesterday and totally with you there. Same basic premise of using time travel to make your life awesome by changing your personal life history although the mirror showing the time travelers in different bodies is more Quantum Leap and the comedy was more along the lines of the Bill and Ted movies with Chevy Chase doing the George Carlin bit. Time travel is theoretically possible although it would require more energy than the Big Bang to move every atom in the universe back to an earlier location and much the same thing for all practical purposes would be to create a virtual reality simulation like our brain does allowing us to have dreams and memories which requires astronomically less energy. I was a bit annoyed by the use of the similar to Back to Future cliche about time travelers disappearing because they altered their own past which there is no way I could possibly imagine happening since it would inherently create a grandfather paradox if the time travelers were never born to alter their timeline in the first place, Time travelers in the past might theoretically return to a projected future alternate timeline created by their changes to their own past where people recalled them having vastly different life histories than they recalled having like happens at the end of this movie but nothing they do in a reconstruction of the past should logically effect the time travelers while they're in an alternate timeline they created by altering their original past timeline. I don't see any way that could possibly happen.
I really did enjoy this movie and Adam played by John Cucack he did a great job too and he was awesome as the main lead character and Lou Dorchen played by Rob Corddry he did a good job too and he was so funny in this movie and he was so awesome for this role too and Jacob played by Clark Duke he did a really good job too and he was so awesome too and he was so funny in this role too and Nick Webber played by Craig Robison he did a great job too and he was so funny and he sure did cracked my ass off man and April played by Lizzy Caplan she did a great job too as well but she was barley in this movie tho and she sure is so beautiful and gorgeous too and I like her as a actress now and Phil played by Crispin Glover he did a great job but he was barley in this movie tho but when he was on screen he did a good job for this role tho and he was actually funny in this movie too and Tara played by my girl Jessica Pare she did a great job too but she was barely in this movie tho but she did had great nudity in this movie tho and she sure is so incredible sexy as hell bro and she is so gorgeous too and I’m a huge fan of her now too love her to death man and Zoe played by my other girl Crystal Lowe she did a great job too but again she was barley in this movie tho but she was still awesome for this role tho and she sure is so incredibly sexy as hell bro and she is so gorgeous too and I’m a huge fan of her now too love her to death man and finally Repairman played by Chevy Chase he did a great job but he was barley in this movie tho but it was nice to see him in this movie tho and can’t believe it’s been 14 years now since this movie came out and next year it will be the 15th Anniversary when this movie was released in theaters back than and I was a freshman in high school when this movie came out and I was 14 years old when this movie came out and time sure does flies in the movie world that’s for damn sure bro and overall I’m gonna give Hot Tub Time Machine (2010) a 10/10 stars I really did loved this movie and I had a good time watching it and it made me laugh my ass hard big time bro but that’s just me though in my opinions and thoughts on this movie Jeremy Jahns bruh
